Had a coupon that they mailed to me and when I tried to use it, they said they will not honor it. This location is suppose to the original biggby. How do you mail out promotions and tell me that you won’t take it. I also order a frozen drink, very poorly made. Employee was rude too.

Terrible service, it’s like they use dirty water for the coffee and tea. Go somewhere else!

Poor customer service. My free coffee was gone from my card. They must have used it by mistake. The girl at the window said. You can start saving up for another, the girl at the window said. I never received a free coffee i said. Sorry, nothing i can do she said. I can do something, I should have said. Tim Horton’s is more on my way anyway. And they put the cream cheese on for you.

Whenever I come home, I come here to do work! I love the atmosphere, I love the teddy bear lattes, and I love the turkey bragel with pesto, yumm!

Always had good service and good coffee here– the staff is especially friendly, and they’ve gotten my coffee order down so well that they’ve usually gotten my order started by the time I get to the register. True, the WiFi is horrible when there are more than five people there, but it’s more of an atmosphere for chatting than for studying I’ve found. The parking lot is admittedly hard to get to during rush hours, but it’s ideal for students since it’s so close to campus and open 24⁄7.

One thing a coffee shop should never do is mess with morning commutes, and this Biggby location has made me late for work on two separate visits despite my adding TEN minutes to plan for stopping in. Other coffee houses along Grand River manage to get things moving where I’m in and out in around 3 minutes and I never have to allot extra time for my morning coffee/tea stop in the morning, but this Biggby is so poorly run it makes my blood boil. This morning for instance: only two customers ahead of me upon my entering, the girl at the register takes three minutes to get it right each time with both people and had to ask for assistance from her only teammate each time. So by the time she takes my order I’m already there six minutes. I then had to wait while the girl making the coffees slowly put the concoctions together and got them wrong for both customers. Meanwhile, the line began to build for ordering and stopped moving. I saw two customers leave before ordering while I waited. I was there a total of 17 minutes for a hot tea. It’s the morning! I’m sure most of us weren’t there because we were feeling leisurely. Super annoying and frankly it does not happen at any of the other Biggby locations(Lake Lansing by Eastwood is backed up with customers every morning yet I’m out in 4 minutes or less with amazing tea!!) I’ve been to, so why here? I’m pretty sure the girl on the register was new… But shouldn’t management staff more appropriately instead of putting the poor girl on at rush hour?! Bad service, and bad for employee morale I’m sure. Avoid this location if you have a life.

Decent place to get work done. Coffee isn’t bad, staff is chill. Wifi is horrible, I can connect about 1⁄3 of the time, even at times when it’s mostly empty. C’mon now.

I love Biggby coffee, especially this store. The employees are always smiling and excited to be taking your order. It really makes going there when I am grumpy and haven’t had my first cup of coffee much more enjoyable.

Pros(applicable to this location): open 24 hours(sole reason for 2 stars). *Occasional* friendly service. Cons(applicable to all locations): everything else. Coffee is fair(but not at premium prices), espresso is acrid — I have no idea how they can screw up something so basic. And even though they FINALLY brought their prices in line with Starbucks(e.g., a 4-shot Americano was over $ 1 more at Biggby), it still doesn’t make up for a cup of yuck. I presume most go for the Teddy Bears and other«fluff» drinks, which add enough milk, syrup, and flavors to mask the unpalatable coffee, but what a joke. I only write this review after constructive feedback to corporate — in the context of trying to support local businesses — was answered with a lackadaisical, uncaring response. Even Starbucks understands the concept better, and always makes it right. Bob, a model like this isn’t sustainable so either cash in while you can, or at least attempt listening to your *former* customers.

I was actually very surprised to see the negative ratings for Biggby. From what my friends say and my own personal experience, Biggby is a pretty popular location and offers a pretty great product. During the school year, you can pretty much swing by this location at any time of the day and it’ll be packed. While this is pretty inconvenient if you’re looking for a place to study, I do think it speaks to their appeal among the general population. Anyways, as for the building itself, it is always crowded, like I just mentioned. So, you’ll have to come at off hours to find a spot if you plan on studying for awhile. And like others have mentioned, plugs can be of limited supply. Either bring work that doesn’t require a laptop, or make sure your battery if fully charged so ensure you’ll be able to get anything done if you find a seat. Also, they recently changed the rules for the bathroom — you have to grab a key from the counter if you’d like to use it. While this is pretty standard for other coffee shops as well, it was nice to just be able to use the bathroom quickly. The wifi is free, so that’s also a plus. If you come with a group of friends, you won’t have to purchase anything or wait for a friend to purchase something to obtain a password. They also have a nice outside area for those who are around during the summer. I’ve always had great experience with their customer service. It’s usually the same people working, and they’re usually very friendly and smiling. One girl who makes the coffee actually attempts to engage in conversation while you’re waiting, which I think is quite nice. Biggby coffee is one of my favorites. I suppose I’m no expert, but I do drink coffee almost daily. So, I feel that I can offer a decent opinion. I actually prefer Biggby coffee over many other brands, and it’s typically what I buy to brew at home. Biggby’s iced coffee is probably my favorite, besides Dunkin Donuts. The prices, I feel, are a bit high… but no worse than Starbuck’s. The rewards system is pretty nice, and they frequently send out coupons via email if you’re signed up. Every time you buy 12 drinks, you get your 13th free(I wish it was every 10). I also wish that if you bought your coffee beans from them, it wasn’t counted separately from drinks. Ah well. Their food is pretty good too. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to others. I’ve always had a positive experience here and have enjoyed the product. I will miss it when I leave East Lansing!

I’m disgusted. Where is Gordon Ramsey? There’s crap all over the floor and it SMELLS in here. Not like coffee but like the carpet hasn’t been cleaned in years. Trying not to vomit.

The owner is a douche-bag. Whenever he used to come into the store he was crabby with his workers. He was pleasent enough with the customers, but it was a turn off to see him around. The workers are nice enough, but the prices are ridiculous! Who can afford to go there? There are no free refills on brewed coffee, and if you do fork up the change to pay $ 1.25 for a refill(even if you buy your own mug) they won’t «Stamp» your frequency card. There are only like 2 electricity plugs in the entire store, which certainly makes it very difficult for more than a couple of people to be working in there. The store itself looks like shit. Perhaps they’d be better to tear the place down and put a starbucks in.

The clientele here bug the shit out of me, but I like their chocolate chip muffins. I like that they are open 24 hours and when I don’t want to study at home, it’s always open. I can take or leave the coffee, it tastes incredibly weak, but at least its not overpriced. I hate coming here and having to fight someone for a table. People like to suck up all the tables and spread their shit out like they own the place. And someone will steal your seat if you don’t keep an eye out for it. I had this old guy steal my seat once, and I had to yell at him to get the hell out. Something about the clientele here just screams rude, selfish and extreme sense of self-entitlement. And for being a place that offers free wi-fi, there’s only 3 plugs to plug your laptop into, and they are all on the east side of the restaurant. But I guess if you want to burn the midnight oil and don’t want to be cooped up at home studying, this is one of the few late night options.

Oh, so many memories from this place! Nothing special about the coffee itself or the atmosphere, but it’s open 24 hours and summer nights on outside seating are to die for! People are friendly, most are regulars.

Not that great. Service is slow and the drinks are expensive. On the upside, I did go here on a cute date here once — we sat outside on a late October evening sipping our hot caramel apple ciders. They ARE open 24 hours and provide free WiFi, so it would make a nice study spot.

Note: this review is for Biggby Coffee in general, not this specific location of it. They all serve the same stuff, so it doesn’t matter. Upside: The prices are reasonable and there’s 3 Biggby’s one every block. They’re probably putting one in your apartment right now. Downside: The coffee sucks. It tastes thick, for lack of a better word. You have to ask for a sleeve for your cup. Their deserts suck. I only buy Beaner’s coffee if I’m driving around and I need coffee and there’s no place else nearby. This happens sometimes.

I wouldn’t even give Beaners a star… but i am feeling nice tonight. Their coffee is terrible. I got the french roast and i was sorely dissapointed so i tried another roast… still awful. I went on to try every single roast they had and not a one was good. Their drink selection in general doesn’t please me. Im sorry Beaners… you just don’t do it for me.

Everyone who lives in Lansing swears by Beaners and I personally don’t understand the fuss. I ordered a chai latte earlier today and service was quick, but man was it watered down. Tasted like chai that would have come from… Taco Bell. Plus the prices on the coffees are hella steep. I understand wanting to support local business but Beaners, you need to step your game up. 2.5 stars really.
