It has been a long time since I have been to Family Foods in East Falmouth, but the moment I walked in I remembered why I love this place so much. First and foremost this is a local grocery store that not only has fresh fruits and produce, but they also have a great selection of goods that you would find at the bigger chains. On top of that this store has beer and wine, as well as a phenomenal meat section and deli. They have a great selection of Boar’s Head Deli items, as well as a great selection of side. They also have multiple Portuguese food items such as linguica, Portuguese rolls, and prepackaged Portuguese muffins. Another amazing fact about Family Foods is that they have a small kitchen that not only makes incredible subs and sandwiches, but also serves hot items, soups and Chester’s Fried Chicken at a reasonable price. The head chef Ricky is an amazing man, and he is always willing to have a conversation with his customers. I haven’t been into the store in over 5 years, but he remembered me right away and started a conversation as though there was no lapse in time. You don’t find that at your large chain grocery stores. The only downside to this store is that it looks a bit outdated, and sometimes finding items in the store can be difficult. It is also a bit more expensive than the chain stores, but I am willing to pay a little more for the amazing staff and high quality items. This is a gem hidden in the heart of East Falmouth.
