What can I say about this amazing place?!? It’s right in downtown Dundee, so it’s perfect if you want to walk around afterwards. Parking is a breeze! In the back area to the right, there is a makeshift treehouse built in the middle of the room. So fun! I ordered the eggs Benedict, perfectly poached egg We also ordered the apple cinnamon beignet. It was incredible! Warm, soft and flaky. I had their Bloody Mary, just the right amount of pepper and spice. The service was great, our waitress was very lovely. When we were paying our bill at the checkout, the woman told us about some of the history of the house. It’s over 100 years old and quite enchanting. We will definitely go back!

We loved the benedicts, fresh fruit, and service. Not crazy about the loud group of ladies, but the restaurant in itself was great. Will go back

All I can say is WOW. My parents brought me to this adorable place(with a tree growing out of it!) and we all enjoyed an amazing breakfast here a few weeks ago. Though I forget its name on the menu, I got the eggs benedict dish that had artichoke hearts on it and I’ll never get it any other way. It was awesome and vegetarian — you could totally add ham to it though and have it be even more delish. My mom and dad both got pancakes(which were HUGE) and the fruit that came w with or in both was fresh and tasty. They had a great lemon pancake on the menu that I wish I’d gotten that also looked yummy. The décor of the place was very adorable(fiesta ware dishes and lots of roosters) and there were plenty of tables. At the end of it all, they even brought us adorable egg shaped sugar cookies! Who does that?! This cute cute CUTE place. East Dundee downtown is adorable and parking was a breeze — the staff there was really efficient and on top of their game, but on the weekends I can see this joint having a huge wait(we went on a weekday). Its worth it though, I promise! I’ll definitely be back for more.

Been coming here for over three years now. It started when I was dating my wife and I kept asking to come back each visit to the future inlaws. I love Benedict’s atmosphere the most. There is a tree growing through the building. Dundee is a pretty cutsie area and Benedict’s is the cute frontrunner. The food has been good every single time. The skillets, egg specials, and even the stuffed french toast are all great. The hardest part is making a decision. I especially enjoy the intelligentsia coffee, but I also have to get the strawberry orange juice every time I visit. Even their jams are perfect(marionberry makes this future Oregonian happy). At the end you get a dark chocolate mint stick to top it all off. The service is friendly and knows my mother in law. It is not fast but it is good. Just enjoy your time here and don’t worry about getting to the next thing. They even hosted my entire wedding party and family one morning and did an excellent job.

Went here for brunch with a friend that lives in the area. Found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. It’s a quaint little«house.» There are ALOT of similarities to Egg Harbor, if Egg Harbor never updated anything. I got a combo with eggs, bacon, and a waffle. I have to say that the waffle had no flavor and was not very good. Only had a ¼ of it. My friend had one of their egg benedicts. He ate it but was not a fan of it. We also waited for about 12min for our check; and there were only 2 other tables. I then just went to the front and asked if we could pay which the lady at the front was super helpful with. Was not impressed.

First timer! Wasn’t too sure by walking in the door, but the personnel was so friendly and funny that the visit was pleasant. I am a hamburger fanatic so I went with the regular burger with the brie on a pretzel roll, it was fablouis. My companions were also very pleased with their orders of benedicts and a chicken sandwich. Will definitely so back. Parking is OK, just lucky to get a space when you arrive. I suspect that very early is difficult. All in all, a pleasant meal.

Food is great. The hostess girls are rude, unfriendly and make you feel unwelcome! Cracks smile for once! I love the place otherwise

Great menu with lots of different takes on breakfast fare. I love the building and the tree. The food and service is very good. I’ve only had breakfast so I can’t say about lunch or dinner but if it is as good as breakfast then 5 stars are in order.

This place was constantly having people come in while we had breakfast so that’s always a good sign! We had French toast, eggs Benedict, farmers skillet and Apple juice. The portions were very plentifully and the food was delicious. Such a great place to start the day. We are looking forward to coming back!

I’ve been coming here for years. This is my favorite brunch spot. The Pomosas are a must try. I love how friendly the staff is, and the location is great. I also love the fact that they built the restaurant around a tree as opposed to knocking it down. Very inventive!

If I were you I would keep driving… not worth the stop. I should have known when my daughter fell in the parking lot because of the big pot hole. I had high hopes due to the other reviews, however, my French toast was very undercooked, I had to send it back. Did I get a credit on my bill, nope. Ok, whatever, however, brought back out my «new» French toast, with one less piece… And still undercooked in the middle. My advice, get rid of the cook, can’t make French toast properly, you shouldn’t be cooking. The ONLY reason I left 2 stars was for our waitress, I believe her name was Caroline. She was attentive, apologized for the food. Would not return.

I loved everything about this place! The menu choices were amazing starting with the fresh beignets. They were the perfect start to an amazing meal. I ordered a basic breakfast combo of pancakes, eggs and bacon. There were way more tasty choices, but I figured I would see how the basic choices were cooked first before trying other items. My meal was cooked to perfection and left me wishing I’d tried some of the more appealing items. Our waitress was also very friendly and professional, and the rooster themed décor gave it a home like feeling. I found a lot of creole and southern style influences here. The atmosphere is a mashup of lots of different styles. I will definitely be back again! Double thumbs up to this place!

I couldn’t handle all the delicious that was created in the kitchen at Benedict’s Eggs & More. Literally I was so full that I threw up my white flag and boxed up two days’ worth of breakfast leftovers to take home. It was a most excellent decision in many ways, namely with the goal of keeping my pants securely buttoned. In the interest of full disclosure and honesty, hubs and I overordered. A strictly adult meal(read: no little children in attendance) is a rarity for us, so we took solace in trying oh so many delicious things. We had more time to do so as we weren’t spending time cutting someone else’s food or picking up a sippy cup off the floor for the 891st time. Benedict’s menu is deep and very creative(re: my husband’s order — German Benedict with bratwurst and mustard hollandaise), so it was tough to choose but I took the challenge thanks to some great direction from our server. So, here’s what I tried: 1) Beignets: 4⁄5: Toasty, tasty and perfectly doughy. These would be out of this world if they came with some jam/dipping sauces. 2) Chilaquiles: 4⁄5: Nicely done with egg *and* chicken with a flavorful salsa. Our sever mentioned that the cooks really shine with Mexican inspired breakfast items and she was right on about this one. And the portion was *enormous!* 3) Lemon Zest Pancake: 5⁄5: I have a major problem choosing between sweet and savory during breakfast time, so I opted to get one lemon zest pancake. Not a surprise, the one pancake was huge. And so flavorful. This adorable breakfast spot is not only delicious, but adorably decorate and quaint. Get yourself to Benedict’s for awesome food and fantastic service.

Great little place in East Dundee. It is in a old time house. The food was fantastic. I would go again and again. Nice people with great service. On my A+ list to places to go too. I had biscuits and gravy. It was huge plate. It doesn’t have biscuits. You get 2 scones and fruit cup and 2 eggs for 7.99. It was very hearty plate and very good.

I’ve only been here once for a change from our usual breakfast spot. The menu is huge and pages long. A bit overwhelming, in fact. Lots of the menu items sounded really good. I ended up picking the Granny Apple and Brie omelette. It’s basically an omelette with bacon, apples and Brie cheese. It sounded interesting and I figured maybe the salty and sweet would taste good(as I’m the type of person to love figs and dates in my omelette). The actual execution of the omelette wasn’t very good. The apples were in very large, thin slices laid in the fold of the omelette. I think if they were cooked up a little bit and chopped, it would have tasted better. The apples were bland and I just ended up picking them out. The brie was okay. The omelette was fluffy but I wasn’t impressed with the taste of the eggs. The omelette was an overall fail. The fruit cup was very good and fresh. The potatoes were really good and well seasoned. The English muffin was enjoyable. The intelligentsia coffee was excellent and they leave a carafe at the table for you to refill your cup yourself. I loved that.

My parents and I had breakfast at Benedict’s on a Sunday and had an enjoyable meal. Décor: I guess it’s pretty obvious that this place used to be a house and is now a breakfast spot. It’s cool, quaint, and very homey feeling. There are a bunch of tables of varying sizes and there is plenty of natural light coming in. We sat by a tree… pretty sure it was fake… and in a «breakfast nook» section. It was nice and enjoyable. Bathroom: unknown Staff: We were greeted warmly by the greeter-girl, who was SUPER cute and not hard on the eyes at all, and the manager. Both were very nice. Our waitress was the same, friendly and upbeat. Food: We had the Breakfast Tacos(very enjoyable), the crepes w/strawberries(yum), and the Jambalaya Eggs(very tasty and enjoyable but a bit too much white onion) with a side of oatmeal(standard but good). Additionally I had a Candy Apple Hot Cider that was absolutely FANTASTIC! You have to get one, it’s SOGOOD! Value: The prices are right where you’d expect them to be for a nice little spot like this. Benedict’s is a charming little breakfast spot that my parents frequent often, and to which I wouldn’t mind eating another meal at again in the near future.

I happened to be designated the breakfast spot«Gopher» for my group the morning we headed towards Belvidere for the Fall Diddley Craft Show… Knowing I wanted to try a new restaurant for breakfast(especially since it’s a rare occasion I wake up early enough to enjoy breakfast«out» at all.) I placed my faith & trust in Unilocal… Searching a gazillion places in various towns on the way to our destination, I came across Benedict’s Eggs and More… the reviews and pictures had me sold… plus. THEYSERVEINTELLIGENTSIACOFFEE! yes, yes & yes… I noticed they had 2 locations, one in Crystal Lake — but decided to venture here. Honestly, the restaurant(house) which dates back to 1892 and the fact that a huge tree emerges from the inside dining room — was enough to lure me here…(along w/Intelligentsia coffee of course). Don’t get me wrong, the menu looked *haute* inspired & scrumptious too… in fact so titillating, I was already struggling with what to order… a plethora of traditional & fresh creations… I had perused the menu so many times, I swear I could have memorized it… I was obviously *feigning* breakfast foods… We arrived around 10:30, not surprised to find at least 4 – 5 parties of more«breakfast Feigners» waiting outside to be seated… so what did we do in the meantime? We browsed the menu of tempting eats… Homemade beignets, homemade biscuits & gravy(scone style), fresh mixed juices, an array of frittatas, omelets, strata’s, skillets, homemade crepes & quiche, Chilaquiles, is YOUR mouth watering yet? Pancakes, waffles, French toast — fruits… and the star of the show — Eggs Benedicts(guess what I got?). Did I mention they have lunch offerings too?(think: Gazpacho, Panini’s, Salmon Clubs.). We were finally seated after about 30 min. AND to my delight, at a table right next to the charming tree… Gave our orders to our extremely helpful waitress and waited another 25 min. before our plates finally arrived — and when they did — all food was room temperature… My Smoked Salmon Benedict was pretty good. Comprised of a toasted bagel with just a smear of cream cheese, slice of smoked salmon topped with a perfectly cooked poached egg drizzled w/hollandaise(sans capers). The breakfast potatoes were slightly cold and pretty bland, not crisp at all, just blah… my fresh squeezed orange strawberry juice was the best part for me… nice & tart with a slight strawberry sweetness… this just made everything go down better… Our side of pumpkin pancakes topped w/pecans & dusted powdered sugar came out first… (also lukewarm). I loved that these were not overly sweet. I could taste the pumpkin and just a *hint* of pumpkin spice or clove, but not much at all… the pancake itself was not bad, but not as tender as I like. The maple sausage was pretty flavorless too… Our other side of biscuits & gravy is actually a homemade scone w/turkey gravy. also homemade. If your a fan of this dish, I don’t recommend ordering their version… the scone was dense, a little dry and the turkey gravy doesn’t give you that rich, meaty flavor you expect from biscuits and gravy, with just bits of ground turkey… you need tender biscuits for this & no-one was a fan… Someone had a taste for Corned beef hash, but after asking our nice server if it was in fact homemade or not, she answered an honest«No». Kudo’s to her for being forthcoming… So now YOUKNOW.(canned variety). My sister ordered the California Salmon Club w/side of potato salad. The wild caught salmon looked great, meaty portion and she enjoyed it a lot… but said the potato salad had a sweet taste… and our server agreed, it is not a ‘traditional’ salad… Another ordered the Spinach Roasted Red Pepper Eggs Benny — topped w/feta — she liked it… So why 3 stars? — took 25 min. for food to arrive(mind you, the restaurant cleared out by this time). — food was not served hot or even warm — coffee — room temperature — out of fresh beignets — ok, technically not their fault since they stop serving them @ 11am,(if only we’d been seated just 10 min. earlier…) — SOMETHINGS were rather bland — biscuits & gravy, potatoes, hollandaise sauce, sausage– it just needed something more. seasoning, herbs… And everyone agreed… Cute town, cute place, great waitress — but not so great tasting food… just Ok. — a word of caution to *self*(don’t get suckered by fancy sounding menu’s that have Intelligentsia coffee on them)… ps. our total: $ 60(3 people pre-tip)

A friend & I decided to randomly check it out. It’s a cute place, actually pretty big inside surprisingly. Our waitress was nothing special, but decently polite… seemed like she was a bit in a hurry. The food was alright. I gotta give props to the French toast berry thing though it was A1. I’d probably go again just for that if I’m feeling something pretty sweet for breakfast. The skillet we had wasn’t really good… Too many potatoes lol no special taste. Thanks for the service!

Update: Taking stars off. I don’t know if there is a new head cook or what, but Benedict’s isn’t what it used to be. We’ve gotten under-cooked dishes a couple times, which happens, but it’s just kind of consistent with the general lack of enthusiasm that comes out these days about the food. It’s like the kitchen doesn’t really care anymore. Kind of disappointing. An okay breakfast still, but nothing special.

This spot was decent. The menu covered the basics and offered Healthy: oatmeal, eggwhite burritos, fruit. Tasty: pumpkin pancakes, egg nog french toast(off the holiday menu) and Traditional: omelets, two egg plus meat breakfast etc. All for roughly $ 7 – 14. They also offered lunch but I skipped over that section. I chose the two egg with turkey bacon option which came with a perfectly crunchy english muffin and some sad, cold and bland potatoes. The potatoes were ignored and I turned my focus to the tasty turkey bacon which was also sadly cold. The eggs were ok, just needed some salt n pepper. Overall the entire meal was satisfying but unremarkable. My favorite part was the english muffin. The venue itself was very cute, warm and comfortable. Plenty of parking and the staff was friendly. A-ok spot for a quick breakfast.
