Overall was not happy with my experience. I did not feel welcomed in the store, while speaking to one of the employees about candy another emplyee/​manager was glaring at us and made me feel very uncomfortable. I later heard this manager talking to one of the employees in a very condescending manner which did not seem appropriate. To wrap it up when I got home and tried my candy (fruity tootsie rolls) they where completely stale and discolored. Used to love this candy store as a kid, was upset with my visit.

Cute place! They serve Richardsons ice cream and, unlike Peaceful Meadows, they have jimmies! Yay! There was a great selection of flavors. My kids were super happy with their bubble gum and dinosaur crunch ice cream! I had the Reese’s peanut butter cup. It was excellent!

Ice cream is good. It’s richardsons which you can get elsewhere. Staff is slow and not very friendly in fact I’ve seen them be rather rude. I won’t go back. That’s only the ice cream side. The penny candy side is cute and the kids love it. Their chocolate while pricey (no different from other places) is delicious.

I have lived in Whitman for many years and never went to Skinner’s until this past weekend to get an Easter gift for friends who live overseas. OMG what have I missed not going there! My idea of heaven! lol The staff was very friendly and helpful and they had an extensive array of chocolates to choose from. The peanut butter cups are melt in your mouth, drool-​worthy. That was my first visit, but definately will not be my last.

This place is a cute, mom & pop candy store/​ice cream shop from years ago. The people working there are always friendly and happy. I have bought roasted nuts, candy as gifts and ice cream for myself and it was all very good! They have lots of ice cream flavors and toppings. In addition, they sell many types of of chocolates, candies and various nuts made/​roasted onsite. This place came highly recommended by a friend that lives nearby when I said I was considering stopping at Peaceful Meadows. She said thi s place was much better than Peaceful Meadows. Even though Peaceful Meadows is more widely recognized (Skinners makes its own ice cream; Peaceful Meadows I heard gets their ice cream from Richardsons), Skinners is far superior. I would rather give my business to an excellent mom & pop shop than a chain.

This place is easy to miss. It’s a little off of route 18, behind the East Bridgewater Library, on Union Street. (If you’re not from the area: East Bridgewater is actually north-​northeast of Bridgewater.)
This is a local place that’s been in business for about 85 years.
They have a good selection of penny candy and chocolate. They also serve Richardson’s ice cream. They specialize in nuts. They also have jellies and other things.
$ 20 for a pound of chocolates is pretty pricey. At that price I might as well buy Godiva chocolate or make them myself. Maybe try the JUMBO cashews, or the ice cream, or the penny candy, or the jellies.

Really good chocolate. Love the snow ball and dark chocolate covered graham cracker. They have peanut butter cup too. Everything is weighed and priced at about $ 16.99/lb. Don’t forget to try their fudge too. Mum’s favorite are walnut fudge and penucchi nut.
Plus, they have Richardson ice cream and make the best sundae around. Their hot fudge sundae is to die for. Way better ice cream than some ‘meadow’ up the street.

Although not a fan of East Bridgewater, Skinner’s is the absolute best part of the entire town. And it doesn’t just serve ice cream, it also serves a ton of candy and chocolates. «Hey little kiddie, want an ice cream? Step in my white van and we’ll go to Skinner’s!». No matter how stupid your kid is, they would still step in the white van if they thought they were going to Skinner’s, because that’s how amazing it is.
If you want an ice cream sundae, this is the place to be! With nearly every type and every topping that would come to your head, Skinner’s has it. The ice cream is delicious, and the variety of toppings makes it even better. They also serve a variety of shakes that seem to be delicious, too. And it’s not just ice cream. Step inside the actual building and you may think you’re in Candy Land or Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. The place is full of artery clogging and heart stopping candy, but that ain’t gonna stop me from filling up a bag of lollipops and gummy sharks, a bag of nuts, or the variety of chocolates in the display case. You’ll also notice the massive and colorful lollipops, which take about a year to consume.
The price and portion size is amazing. A small sized ice cream sundae would be a large to some other places. I can’t even finish a small sized sundae in one night. And the large is a totally different story. It’s almost as tall as my almost 2-​year old niece. Not really, but it’s pretty damn big. A small sized sundae for only a couple of dollar bills is a great price for the size they give you.
The service is pretty quick, but I wouldn’t wanna wait when there’s a massive line full of ice cream goers. Usually a single sundae takes a minute. Lots of locals tend to come here after school.
Skinner’s has the best ice cream around, and if it’s after dinner and you’re driving by, pull right into the parking lot and get yourself a sundae! It will bring you back for more, no questions asked!

Skinners is my absolute favorite place for grabbing an Ice Cream Sundae. The portions are huge and the Ice Cream is the best in my opinion. Whenever I come back to East Bridgewater for a visit I have to go to Skinners and get a large Peanut Butter Cup Sundae with Almond Joy Ice Cream, its ridiculously good. In fact this past weekend when Johnny D’s breakfast joint was too busy, I grabbed one of those Sundaes for breakfast, best way to start a Saturday!
The candy business there is cool too, I remember going there as a kid and filing up one of their little buckets with candy and then paying with the change I’d been saving up. Definitely a solid place to bring the kids too.

All I can say is «German Chocolate Cake» ice cream has made me a regular. Sizes are big and prices quite reasonable. Not embarassed to say I’ve gotten my fix by paying with quarters.

I love the ice cream at Skinner’s. It is is Richardson’s and so good! The staff is usually great, although sometimes it is pretty slow. The Snicker’s ice cream is unbelievable and the portions are very generous.
They are open pretty late too. It is the only place we go for ice cream if I am visiting my Mom.

I’m only rating the Ice Cream business that Skinners has…
They have lots of flavors and the portions are huge for the price! My favorite is Green Monster (wihch is basically mint ice cream with giant chunks of oreo). Also make a GREAT Xtra Thick Frappé!
I’ve heard that the candy shoppe is worth a visit too. Maybe soon…

I have about 15 cavities in my teeth thanks to Skinners!
They used to be solely a penny candy shop, but they tend to cater more towards the chocolate holiday specialties. They also do a very strong Ice Cream business as well.
It’s also worth noting that the Skinner family no longer owns the establishment, not that it would stop me from stuffing my gob full of candy :)
