I always get my highlights done 2x a year, she is very organized, respects her clients’ time and does an amazing job with color. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I walk out very happy all the time.

I didn’t felt like traveling so far to get my nails fixed and the color changed so I took a risk and came here. Tania is the nail technician that worked on my nails and she was a sweetheart. On top of the fact that she is very good. Since we spoke with the same language I was able to communicate to her exactly how I liked my nails done and she came through with it. Then I got my eyebrows done by someone else and they came out perfect. I think I will start coming to Tania instead of having to travel over 30 minutes. Also the place is spacious and very clean.

I love this place! I’m a white European girl and I don’t speak any Spanish but let me say that this place is just amazing and they can do any type of hair! The stuff is very friendly and it looked like they really wanted to make the customer happy. Loft interior design is lovely and all the furniture is brand new and very clean. I also noticed that they sanitize the tools right after they use them and wash your head in the gloves. The owner speaks little English and that’s probably the only issue I had with this place but anyway she understood what I wanted how I wanted and even suggested some creative changes which would do better for my hair. She did my hair just great. I got a hair cut a hair dye and she also curled my hair for $ 70. Marlen (the owner) is amazing she knows how to do good hair and I’m definitely coming back.

I love this hair salon, my mom comes here and I just recently got my hair cut and 2 times my hair straighten including today on Christmas eve. All I can say is they’re wonderful, my hair is even more healthier because of them. They’re so nice and I love being here whenever I come by to get something down. Best in east boston! I’ve gotten my hair done by the guy and the girl farthest by the stairs. Both are wonderful, funny, and very nice. Anyone need their hair down, the RIGHT way come here people. :))

Ok, I died my hair and the hair dresser left a line in my left side of the hair, so I looked in Unilocal and found out about 5 stars salons next to me, I called few who were busy that day so I I called Marlene and she gave me an appointment I went there she told she will fix it. So my hair was very long which took me so many years to achieve, I sheaaaqwe gave me few color options I chose the one I wanted, she put a product in my hair which was so strong that when the women was washing my hair she had a hand full of my hair. My hair was fallingggg breaking felt like cotton soo Marlene comes and tel e ed ee ls e me ohhh your hair was damage she cut almost all of it and what s left is super damage, I will never forgive her for what she is done and the worst I had to pay 75 dollars anyway Be aware of that evil women.

$ 25 blow out (I have thick, medium length hair), $ 25 pedicure and $ 12 manicure that lasts longer than most.
The staff are sweet Latina ladies. The owner Marlen is always there and it’s v. Well run.
I am often the only white chica in the place but they seem happy to see me and it’s not a thing at all. Most of them speak English or you can try your hs Spanish on them. I did and they smiled and nodded, not sure if they understood a word I said. :)

Just went to get a hair trim for the first time… so good AND great price! Marlen did a great job. I’ll be going again next week for a deep conditioning treatment and for a mani and pedi.

To give you a quick idea of what to expect, Marlene’s is pretty much the Latina version of Truvy’s Beauty Parlor in Steel Magnolia’s. It is not just a salon it is a social center with many women hanging out for what appears to be hours. There is a constant flow of conversation, laughter, gossip and blow dryers humming here.
Marlen is an awesome lady from Columbia. She started her business at a different location, grew it and then bought this location and completely renovated it. It is now a really nice, bright, stylish salon. There are 4 – 6 stylists, 2 manicure/​pedicure stations, a brow waxing station and a spa treatment room upstairs.
Their prices are great, the service is always friendly and I always leave with a smile on my face. I have had my brows done here many times and a couple of manicures which have all been great. I just got my hair cut here for the 1^st time and it was well-​worth the $ 30. I will say it was just a simple trim– nothing new or mind-​blowing but Marlen did exactly what I asked and it seems to be growing out really well so I’m happy with it.
One thing to note is that everyone who works here primarily speaks Spanish. Marlen does speak english but if you’re getting your haircut I would definitely bring a picture and be prepared to take some extra time to communicate what you’re looking for.
Five stars for value and for being the best salon I have found in East Boston.

This salon, and Marlen, have changed my life! I have felt so much more glamorous and beautiful since I started having my hair done here, about monthly, starting 1 yr ago. My sister-​in-​law recommended the salon, and I’m so happy she did. Marlen, the owner, does great color and blow-​outs. She and her staff, especially Adriana, Marlen’s assistant, are friendly and make you feel like a longtime friend. There is a lively, vibrant atmosphere. The nail salon upstairs/​connected to hair salon, is an added bonus! Maria and Roseo do great manis and pedis, my manicure stayed on longer than after manis I had done in Newton and Somerville (that were 2x the price)!! Parking’s easy, which is also great.
