In a tiny farm town such as East Bernard is these days(it’s quaint now, can only imagine it in its hey-day) this is a gem! Along with Vincek’s. I come here often for Vincek’s to go, but finally got here to check it out, and overall, I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a little worn inside, but don’t let that fool you. The good ol’ farming locals come here and hang out and the chips and salsa are basically excellent. If you’ve had the green salsa at Los Cucos, well, then you know what to expect from the green salsa here – it’s the same kind! I know, right?! What are the odds of finding that awesomeness way out here in a little hole in the wall? Well, that’s awesome. And so was my entrée, and the chile con queso. At first I was a little uncertain, but the meal and tea, and watching Amtrak fly by, and seeing all the locals roll in for dinner – well, I’ll be back now, ya hear? The only downsides I saw: — Not the most attractive place, but chalk it up to location and budget. — Place smelled a little odd when I first walked in, but once the food started rolling out, that’s all I could smell from then on, and it was tasty. I don’t know how to describe the smell, and now can’t recall it. It wasn’t familiar, and not the odor of a dirty bathroom or anything.

I had the spinach & chicken enchiladas & they were great. I’ve eaten in a lot of Mexican restaurants & this is by far the best I have ever had. Even if you don’t live next door the food is worth the drive.

DELICIOSO!!! Reminded me of my family’s cooking. Homemade tortilla’s, wonderful enchiladas, fast service. The green salsa is wonderful. Homemade and fresh food. I hope we stop again if out this way. The staff is very friendly, what more can you ask for from a family owned establishment.

My wife and I stopped by on the way to San antonio and I have to say the experience was great! The salsa and green sauce were great, the chips were not greasy, and the big burrito and sauces were great! Tortilla tasted home made

Went there for the first time with my aunt and grandfather, the owner greeted us at the front door and introduced himself, it felt like we were family. The food was amazing, we had the Texas combo and it was the best I have ever had.

Just passing through on our way back from Splashway park and stopped off for dinner. Pleasantly surprised! I had the tomatillo enchiladas — excellent. Tortilla soup was tasty; good margaritas; even the refried beans were good. Excellent service too.

We ate here back around Christmas on our way back to Austin from my Grandmother in laws. We like great Tex-Mex and this place had it! There green sauce was the best it was so good that when we got home my wife called and told them we live out of town and would they tell her what’s in it. They were very nice and had no problem telling her. The enchiladas tasted great everything tasted great! We will stop again on our next trip through there
