Pinot’s Palette has turned me into Georgia O’Keefe in one night. I wish! I’m not even close to becoming like O’Keefe but Pinot’s Palette had helped me channel my passion of art into a painting. I wasn’t sure what it was until a friend told me to check it out. So I looked up the website and signed up for the class online. They offered 2 or 3 classes a couple nights a week. Each class has a different theme and the website shows the picture you would like to paint. The cost for the 2-hour class is about $ 35 and for the 3-hour class is $ 45. I got $ 5 off promotion code from a friend so it only cost me $ 40. Upon registration, I could choose any person that I would like to sit with. I got there 10 minutes late due to the weather and they were nice enough to wait for me, my husband, and our friend. The class size accommodates approximately 20 – 35 people. We got seated on our stations and got our aprons. Here I was painting on a canvas for the first time. A little nervous but excited, I was glad that there were a few artists helping around the class. The instructor showed how to paint step by step which was really nice and very helpful. We all had a great time painting and amazed at the end result. They also sell frames which costs $ 30 per frame. I decided to frame the painting because I know I’ll probably never go to Michael’s. There was a bar available for people to purchase beer, wine, or soft drinks. Moreover, bottled water were available for free. The price for a glass of wine was average and it can be pricey if you have your second or third glass. Too bad they didn’t allow us to bring a bottle of wine, however, we can bring food or snacks to the class. This place is nice for a date night or a place to gather with friends. You can also book a private party or event such as bridal shower or birthday. I would be glad to go back and paint some more. Maybe I’ll become like Picasso someday(Oh please!)

I’ve been to several painting classes in this style. Pinots Pallet was unique in that they have their own bar. In my experience it’s been a BYOB style. I prefer BYOB because of the cost savings. PP was a bit more pricey than the past places I’ve been but I had a blast. 5 of us went and we’re all different levels of painting«expertise» and each of us left smiling. The class had excellent instruction at a good pace and my only complaint would be the brushes. My small brush was damaged and frayed out at the ends when I asked for another I was told that’s the smallest brush they had. It really impacted the results of my painting making the intricate details impossible and making me frustrated.

My sister surprised me with a visit to Pinot’s Palette, after hearing me whine for weeks about how I wanted to go to one of those«paint night things» that are so popular these days. I try really hard to be crafty and artsy, but my skills usually fall flat so I was a little bit worried that I would not be able to create anything near the finished project that was shown. I never should have worried. Our instructor(Dan) led us through all of the steps with such patience and with such a good spirit. He knew we were all there to have a good time and he definitely helped keep the atmosphere light and fun. We had an amazing time at Pinot’s!!! I really, really want to go back now that I know what to expect. They have a small bar with a limited but decent selection — the wine ranges right around $ 7-$ 8/glass, with beers being a little cheaper. Doesn’t matter — Just grab a drink and follow along with the instructor to create something awesome! You’ll be glad you did!

I’m still smiling after attending a painting class last week at Pinot’s Palette. One point about the location: The studio is situated in a plaza on Transit Road, just south of North French Rd.(I used to belong to the Hive gym in this same plaza, and both the Hive and Tim Horton’s are good landmarks for finding Pinot. If you are traveling north on Transit and see Tops on your left and then reach North French/County roads, you’ve gone too far. If you get to Swormville, keep on going. That last part is a joke.) After arriving, I was immediately greeted by Dan, one of the resident artists. He and his colleague are on hand throughout the class to answer questions, provide additional paint, and be all-around good people. Talk about a first impression. The comfortable feelings continued throughout the class. The staff could not have been more welcoming. Their attitudes were not fake. I’m sorry I’ve forgotten the instructor’s name, but she deserves an A+++(catch that holiday movie reference, anyone?) for guiding the class through the painting steps. I really believe anyone can be an artist. I urge you to sign up for a class soon. You will be amazed at your ability. It’s fun to go to the Pinot’s Palette web site to see which subjects will be featured in future classes. I’m looking forward to signing up for a pet portrait class in 2015. My takeaways from my first evening at Pinot’s Palette: with encouragement and a little determination, everyone can be an artist.

Had a blast at the Unilocal event last night! This is a great place for date night, hanging with friends or family! The facility is clean and nice. The people who work their are fun. Everyone was so helpful whether it be getting more paint or helping with technique. They all were enjoying themselves and were joking around and added to the experience. I am not artistic and was intimidated by the painting when I first saw it. The artist broke the painting down tge its simplist form and madenit easy. She was super encouraging and energetic. We will be returning!

I attended a soft opening here yesterday and I came away impressed! I’ve never participated in a painting social before, but Pinot’s Palette seemed to have all the bases covered. At $ 35/person, the price is very reasonable as you are provided all the materials and get to take the painting home at the end of the class. You’re left with an experience where you learn a few new things AND you get to take home an item that you can hang up on your wall or on display, so it’s really quite a great deal. They have done a really nice job with the space. The floor is very funky with bits of paint all over it and it really embodies a very comforting and relaxing, but fun and unbeat feel when you walk inside. There’s an adjacent room that seats about 16 for private party bookings and a main 30 – 40 area for painting. The painting my wife and I completed was the«Wild Wine» painting and what I enjoyed most about the entire experience was the instructor was incredibly engaging and seemed to simply have fun. She gave us creative freedom to do what we wanted with the painting and not stick to any rigid rules, which was cool. For people who wanted a painting that looked like the one on the wall, they could follow all the directions clearly and perfect their craft or you could do something somewhat different! The artists who assisted were all personable and nice and were happy to refill your paints, replace your water and clear away tables… or even bring you a class of wine! I walked away impressed and the only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is I’m reserving the last star for when I come back for another experience.
