Eagle Wi has always been the half way point for me and my cousin growing up and continues to be in our older ages.(MID20s) Today we met half way. We parked in the gravel lot. I went into the saloon to ask permission to park there while we carpooled to Lake Ottowa. The gentleman behind the bar approved. He invited us to stop in for a cold one after we were done swimming. He was so kind I couldn’t say no. We stopped in for a few drinks and a burger… and though it being summer we also ordered the soup. HOLLLLLLYYYGOSHDANGMOLY. The burger blew my taste buds, the soup was out of this world. Rad hospitality by the bartender. I think her name was Savannah?(Honestly can’t remember your name but you were super nice and took our picture on the saddle stools) I was seriously impressed by the service and food. BTW $ 4.00 for a mind blowing burger.(Tuesday special) Tasted so fresh.

Or friends invited us to get a great prime rib. Walked in at 6:30 the place was empty. Should have walked out. Friends were there a few months prior and said its great. No one was in the dinning room but it still took a long time to get our drinks, the equally as long for her to take our order. 3 of the 5 ordered the prime rib special medium rare. The king cuts were good size but had cross hatch grill marks on them, never had grilled prime rib, by the way it was medium well. Must have been left overs from who knows when, then reheated. The other fellows rib was 1⁄3 fat, he told the waitress she said sorry nothing I can do about it. The smell of the plate was breakfast sausages. Yes, Johnsonville breakfast links on a Sunday morning. The aujue was a clear liquid, not a rich sauce. Garlic mashed were luke warm and o k flavor. The others had sandwiches that were just o k. Oh yes, when my wife ordered a second glass of wine, the waitress brought out a airline bottle of wine and poured it in the glass right on the table. One and done, never again

Needed a break during snowmobiling and found this bar right off the trail to Eagle. They have a parking lot for customers on the other side of the tracks from the saloon building. It was pretty dead on a Friday afternoon but the service was good and the food came fairly quickly. We sat at the bar. Apparently there is a bar downstairs and a restaurant upstairs. There was a fireplace in the bar that we could set our snowmobiling gear near to warm it up. The sign outside said«Best Fish Fry». I was a bit skeptical about this because many wisconsin restaurants seem to say this. However, this fish fry definitely lived up to that title. I would have to say it was one of the best fish fries I’ve ever had. They had cod, walleye, and perch as fish options. The cod is all you can eat. It came with fries or potato pancakes, coleslaw and applesauce. For beverages, there’s about 10 beer on tap and a large selection of bottles including a few gluten free options. One tip: if you pay by credit card, they will charge you a 3% surcharge.

Over the years, we’ve passed this place as we drove from Brookfield to Palmyra. Last weekend we stopped for a meal and really liked it. The décor is equestrian-themed, and it has a corral out back for horses. The menu was casual and inexpensive. I had a delicious reuben, and my companion had an equally delicious tenderloin-and-brie-soup. The server was delightful. We were the only customers there on a Tuesday evening. They have daily specials – on Tuesdays it is ribs and all you can eat peeled shrimp. There are 4 hotel rooms, and they are supposedly haunted, but we didn’t see them. Definitely recommend the restaurant for value and taste.
