I have been eating here for years, the service is usually pretty good, the food is always tasty, but the orders get screwed up a lot. What to try: The Pizza is an obvious choice. The crust is soft yet crispy with a slightly sweet flavor. the sauce is spot on and the cheese is always piled on. Absolutely delicious but absolutely expensive. The real hidden gem here is the sandwiches… They are made out of basically loves used for garlic bread. Soft and delicious on the outside and toasted on the outside. I usually get the ham and cheese but have tried them all and been quite happy. I would give the 4 stars but they screw up my order 25% of the time. Lastly… the salad bar is probably the best in the Anchorage bowl area! Give these guys a try and 75% of the time you will leave here satisfied.

I don’t know if it was an off day for our server but we experienced one of the worst services I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. We were promptly seated after about a fifteen minute wait on a busy night, which was great. However, after we had sat, no one greeted us or brought us water for over fifteen minutes until I stopped one of the hostesses and asked who our server was. She then said she would be with us shortly which did not happen. Finally after some more time had passed our server finally came and took our order, she made us feel rushed and uncomfortable and I felt like I couldn’t even ask her about the menu since she was acting like we were taking up so much of her time. we then noticed the table next to us who had sat down first also began to complain about how they never saw the server and how they had been waiting for a long time to speak to the server about refills and their food. We waited over five minutes before a hostess came and brought us water. Crazy how long we had waited until we were finally given drinks. When we finally saw our server again she brought us our plates for salad and just basically tossed the plates down and left. We’ve never ate here before so we wanted to ask her some questions but she never stayed longer than a few milliseconds. The food was brought to us by some food runners it seemed. Food wise do not order their entrees, they’re gross. We had the lasagna, ravioli, and chicken parmigiana. That was literally the grossest chicken I’ve ever tasted. Please don’t order it for your own sake. We ordered a half buffalo half barbecue chicken pizza. We ended up getting it to go since the food took forever. We enjoyed our pizza as we drove back to anchorage, I definitely don’t think they are better than mooses tooth. The dough for their pizza might be a little better but overall quality is not. And they really need to train their servers better. I was a server myself and that kind of service would have not worked in any restaurant. She seemed to be hidden for most of the night and we received way more service from every other staff member but the server. Maybe she had a lot of tables but from what I saw I don’t think she is really cut out to be in the restaurant industry.

Y’know what? Pizza Man is alright. PM feels like the only restaurant in a small town, but it’s in large(ish) ER. Some folks say the pizza here is better than Moose’s Tooth. I get not being into the wAcKy toppings at MT(although, for the record, I *am* into them), but I still think they make a better overall pie: the crust is a bit tastier and their toppings a bit crisper. One of the main draws here seems to be the beer. The selection is great and the sizes are FAWKINGHUGE. My photo does not do it justice. HUGE. If I lived in ER, I’d probably be a regular. I don’t though, so I’ll probably stop by if I’m ever hiking in the area and feel like a deserve a beer the size of a HULKFIST afterwards.

I ordered their cheese bread along with the Mediterranean pizza and a chicken Parmesan. The cheese bread and the pizza were awesome but the chicken Parmesan tasted like someone threw the chicken in the sink haha. So glad I had other food to eat, I guess they’re just mainly a pizza place for sure. I really enjoyed the service and the server really took care of me and made sure everything was perfect!

If we’re being honest, I prefer Pizza Man to Moose’s Tooth any day of the week. I LIVE for their Hot Turkey Sandwich. I just can’t get enough! I’m sure to stop there occasionally on my drives home from Wasilla for pick-up. But dining-in is nice as well.

The best option for pizza in Eagle River. It’s got the hometown feel to it. Service is on point. Pizza is not overly greasy and they have some unique combinations.

Popped in for lunch, and had the special which meant salad bar and ½ order of lasagna. Very tasty, came out hot. The salad bar was fresh mixed greens with lots of extras including pickled asparagus spears. The garlic bread was hot, and crispy. This portion was huge, and came home in a box, too good to waste.

Delivery takes forever, so order an hour before you plan to eat. The crust is good, but meant for pizza with more flavorful toppings. The first time I ate Pizza Man, I had the Margherita pizza. Unfortunately, the simple toppings were overshadowed by the crust. The next time, I got the Mediterranean pizza and it was delicious. No regrets at all. My husband LOVES the buffalo chicken pizza. Wings weren’t spectacular, so I’ll stick to just pizza in the future.

I actually love their pizza and their food– but their delivery time on a weekend averages 90 minutes– 2 hours. Pizza Man management, this has been on going for nearly a year. Hire extra help on weekends to meet your demands.

Wonderful place to dine… the food is top notch and I love the salad bar! The restraunt looks a little rundown when you walk in but the food is five star. They make their own meatballs.

Pizza Man will always be a family favorite of ours. There isnt an abundance of restaurants in Eagle River, dis-including fast food, but Pizza Man always seems to be the go-to. My very first job ever was here when I was like 16 as a «phone girl» basically taking orders and refilling the salad bar lol. Many many years ago. The pizza here is great.

Best pizza in Eagle River hands down. Food: pizza is the reason to try Pizza Man. I would say Pizza Man pizza rivals just about any pizza joint in Anchorage. Lots of toppings to choose from, very tasty sauce and good dough. What more could you ask for. As far as the other dishes go, they’re pretty tasty as well. They make the bread for their subs out of their pizza dough so you know the bread is fresh. Very good stuff overall. And if you’re dining in they have a pretty decent salad bar. As far as the food goes, 5 stars all the way. Service: it is what it is. It’s a pizza joint, not a five star restaurant. That being said the wait staff is usually very young and it seems that turnover is high, as you might expect. We’ve had very good service while dining in on many occasions and then we’ve also had the very worst service you could imagine a few times in a row. Atmosphere: uncomfortable seating, outdated décor, the place is usually jam packed so moving about is a pain(trips to the salad bar on a busy day can be an adventure) and there are usually lots of noisy little kids to deal with(bless their little hearts). It’s just one of those places. Again it is what it is. You either go in knowing what to expect and deal with it or you order take-out or delivery and not have to deal with the other stuff. Obviously I’m not a huge fan of eating-in at Pizza Man. I would much rather get take-out and eat at home and not have to deal with all the noise and uncomfortable seats. Beverages: the one saving grace about eating-in at Pizza Man is the fact that they have a surprising selection of craft brews to choose from and their schooner of beer at under $ 9(32 oz) makes the dine-in experience a little more tolerable.

If for some reason you’ve read my other reviews on food distribution sites, you are bored, need a hobby, and may have picked up the value I place on customer service. In terms of money, I’m still getting used to the high cost of living. It hurts my wallet so baaaaaaaaaad. A large pizza here is 17″ and $ 20 something. The place is small enough, and easy to get to. It’s right next to the highway. It has all the earmarks of a small Italian place. Cozy, cheap lighting, an atmosphere that can go date or family night-out. I like it. So I ordered a large pepperoni to go. I stood around for about 10 minutes at the front counter. Just to pick up. Now, the staff was walking around. Busy night. It was packed. I get it. But getting ignored, and then that«making eye contact but deliberately looking away with that I-don’t-have-time-for-you» look, what the hell. It wasn’t just one person either, it was 2 or 3 people ignoring me until one of the younger waitresses asked me in a very perky voice if I’d been helped. Now, the Pizza itself was pretty good. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pie with too much sauce, but this kind of bordered on it. Weird. Taste and texture though, I think I’ve found my pizza place. I’d give it more stars but I just can’t on the grounds of their staff. I understand that you’re busy, but make time, get good at faking a smile, or at least acknowledge the customer’s standing there and say something, or post someone up by the register. Shape up. Good food is hard to come by and I love knowing a place serves good food, but good staff? Well I can deal with beer and mediocre food if the staff is good. I come from a world of powdered eggs and food-like mush held together by preservatives. My standards for what defines bad food are pretty low. Or high. Whatever means bad food has to be really bad to be bad. In terms of cost, it’s a little on the expensive side, but hey, Alaska right? I’d like to go back and give it another chance. And for some beer.

We did a to go order today. Spicy chicken wings-nasty.Couldn’t eat them all. Greek salad-with ham and cheese and just a sprinkle of feta. Was tasty, but not a greek salad. Gyro-big disappointment. Dry and bland. Tsaziki sauce was good. Chicken parmesan sub-ok, nothing special. Italian sausage sub-ok, nothing special. I don’t think we’ll be back. Friendly service.

So I didn’t actually go here but someone got pizza from here and it was literally amazeballs. I appreciate a pizza that has ingredients that don’t slide off a slice when you pick it up to eat it *coughpizzahutcough*, excuse me, had a fit of the coughs there. Must be allergy season. I’ll have to go there in Eagle River next time I’m up there visiting. But isn’t it sexist? What about Pizza Woman? Fight the patriarchy. (Pizza was good. Do recommend 9.8÷10)

Amazeballs pizza! I am not a big pizza person, however if you have a chance to check this place out do it! Pizza is cooked to perfection. There was 3 of us and we ordered a medium size pizza and that was plenty! The pieces are huge and with 2 guys and a chick(lol) we had left overs. We ordered the cheese bread and that was pretty fantastic. Normally you get cheese bread and its super greasy and heavy, that was not the case. Not greasy or heavy at all. Was awesome. We order a full size and there was nothing left… oink. The décor was interesting to say the least. I didn’t get it at all. The waitresses and staff wore tied dyed shirts, played Bob Marley music(which I LOVED) in the background, and had cheap pictures of 80’s influence like pictures of Venice, Italy and such. Made the place look super cheap. I wasn’t impressed with all the cob webs hanging in the corners and ceilings, kind of gross. Floors were super dirty, but the tables were clean!!! sooooooooo I guess that is all that matters! Waitress was super nice and friendly. The lady that seated us(was an older lady) was kind of a bit*h. Seemed VERY put out that I asked for a booth. Still gets 5 stars because the food was bomb! #typoqueendontcare

My favorite pizza place of all time! My favorite date night, whether ordering in or out. The bbq chicken pizza is to die for. The girls that work there are all super adorable and sweet. We’ve never had a bad dining experience, and their tap selection is always great :) It’s a pretty old school pizza place, and I don’t really mind the setting at all. It’s a little crowded though, especially between the door and the counter with people coming and going and picking up orders. We did wait like an hour one time for our pizza to be made even though we ordered it on our way home from anchorage… which takes a half hour and the girl on the phone told us 30 mins. They also charge a lot for their ranch so make sure you add it to your order beforehand(it’s worth it though). Besides the one tiny wait, I have absolutely no complaints about this wonderful little pizza parlor

This place is awesome! The only thing that’s better than eating here, is working here! I worked here in 2010 and loved every second of it! And every bite too! Much love from Florida! Sincerely, Racquel :)

Errrr. This was probably on the bottom 3 calzones I’ve had in my life. I was relegated to picking out the fillings early on and the undercooked dough and weak cheese forced my fata$$ to stop cold not even halfway into the calzone. Not to mention it was really expensive. Everyone else seemed«ok» with their choices but not thrilled.

I really don’t know what’s going on lately but the past 2 times I have been here have just been aggravating and not the Pizzaman I am use to. This is my favorite restaurant on E. R and I’m deeply saddened to see it go off the deep end these past visits. On today’s trip everything was slow and inefficient. Our waitress was very nice but everything else was significantly lacking. First off we were sitting for about 10 min without any water or anything. Barely a glimmer of hope to see our server. I was about to get up and leave but I had been craving this place since this morning. When the waitress finally arrived I tried telling her that we just want to order but she was in such a hurry that she went back to the kitchen and thete we were waiting yet another 5 minutes to order. I was getting hangry, and it showed. When I finally got to the salad bar I was disappointed to see everything pretty much low or on the verge of being empty. This is a big deal for me, especially since my meal only comes with ONE trip to the salad bar. The salad bowl was just full of water and a few pieces of lettuce. The alfalfa sprouts were way down there and had bacon bits. Actually alot of things were coveted in bacon bits. Don’t get me wrong I love bacon but this was in most containers near it. The noodle salad was almost empty… I emptied it. I heard other patrons complaining of the lack of selection in the salad bar. When I scooped out a tomato it had some black mold on it. It was just one big let down compared to my usual visits. When I finally sat down I purposely observed the salad bar to see if anyone would tend to it. It went ignored for about 20 minutes and still more patrons having at it. Now for the main event, the chicken parm. Where do I even begin. Let’s just say the chicken tasted old and was dry and hard. The breading on it was soft. It almost made me think it was microwaved and served to me. The spaghetti and sauce was good(as usual) but that was all I could eat. There was an overwhelming amount of cheese that just turned into a hard piece(kind of like the texture of chicken). I usually wipe my plate clean at this restaurant, but not today. There seems to be a lack of coordination around here too. I don’t know if management has changed or what, but when you see waitresses and other employees telling each other what to do and them not agreeing with each other on what they should be doing or need to get done, then you know things are not going to operate at their prime. It was a trip full of observation, sulking, and disappointment, and a waste of money. I hope things get better. On the bright side, thank goodness for the groupon.
