Very limited on-tap selection. Forget sitting outside unless you’re into second-hand smoke. Had the onion rings and jalapenos appetizer, which was not good. Onion rings were soggy, bland, small.

Completely unpretentious townie type bar. A great place to have a cold beer and shoot the s**t with the person next to you. Food… They serve food… And it’s…GOOD, very good! If your looking for a new hangout out or a great place to unwind after work this is it.

This place is a relic from when this area of Durham was frequented by an older smokier crowd of bikers and country folk. Not that there’s anything wrong with that: often it means awesome food, drinks, and/or atmosphere. Unfortunately 94th delivers none of those in any quantity. Beer is nothing special both in variety or price, food is mediocre at best, and in the era of declining tobacco use it is still very alive and strong at 94th Pub. That being said, the flip side is that the food is not terrible, the drinks are not awful or ridiculously expensive, and the atmosphere does have its charm. If you and your buddies(NOT a date) want a place to slum, this is itQ

The pub is a great little dive bar located in a shopping center. Its nothing fancy but always fun to come grab a drink with friends here. They have an outdoor area with a few tables but when I was here they had karaōke outside which was a blast! Their wings are always good but my go to is the Turkey and Brie sandwich. At lunch they have a half sandwich/soup or sald deal that is a classic!

I can’t say it was the best food in America. It wasn’t bad. Quick meal for me. There was a funky smell inside of the establishment. Maybe it was the carpet. Typical bar, nothing extravagant.

My boyfriend and I came here one night looking for dinner and beer. We came on a Wednesday night, which happens to be trivia night which is cool if you’re into that, and we sat outside on the front patio with our two dogs(major points for dog-friendly patio!). Firstly, for a pub, the beer choices were pretty sad. Secondly, there was only one server working the full front patio and kinda full inside. It took us a while to even get noticed so by the time the server got to us, we went ahead and ordered our meal(French dip sandwich and Reuben). Our server was not very friendly at first, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt since she was obviously stressed and stretched way too thin. When our food came out(which was pretty quick), in our server’s rush, the au jus for my French dip had sloshed out of the cup and all over the fries and sandwich, so both were pretty soggy. Other than that, the food was decent. By the end of the meal, we hadn’t been checked in with once. No water refills, no second round of beers, nothing. The only time she came over was when she came and grabbed the open bottle of ketchup from our table(without asking if we were done with it or anything!) and took it to — I’m assuming — another customer’s table. Again, it was pretty busy for one server so I’m not really blaming her but they definitely need to get another person in there to help out. Bottom line? We probably won’t be back. There are better restaurants close by with way better beer selections that I much prefer going to.

this is quite possibly the worst place to take a shit in in all of durham. it’s a nice little bar, and the bathrooms are very clean, but problem is merely a matter of feng shui. the toilet is right up against the wall, and the bulky toilet paper dispenser, while conveniently located on the same wall, actually intrudes upon your knee space. what ends up happening is dropping a deuce with your knees tightly together and therefore closed butt cheeks. you have to stand dirty in this one. STAYAWAY!

Decent pub fair and a relaxed atmosphere. Small local beer selection and your usual liquor beverages. They have a cute outside area in the front that is non smoking and a small area out back for smokers. A good place to drink, relax, and have a conversation.

Great customer service! Fast and friendly. Food was good and priced great. BLT sandwich does not have thick slab bacon just regular bacon. Won’t order again. Turkey and Brie was delicious. Will order that again! And the crispy onion strings were a little spicy and flavorful! Yum.

When I came here for the first time I started to sing the Cheers song, in my head, only because it truly feels like that when you enter in. It’s a nice little cozy pub with above average food. I will be honest i haven’t tried everything on the menu, only the bacon cheeseburger but it was good enough to bring me back twice within days. Definitely a hand made, premium beef burger cooked to order. They make all of their salad dressing from scratch and I’m a fan of their ranch and Caesar dressing. With very friendly and down to earth waitstaff plus tasty options, you can’t go wrong here.

This is a fun little pub with good food and friendly/quick service. I hear they have a great wing deal on Thursdays that I need to check out!

Very loud inside for such a small place. Also very smoky to the point my lungs felt charred the next day even though the smoking is outside. Guess so many people are smoking just outside the doors(front & back) that it pours in every time the doors opens. Both really turned us off enough not to want to return. Overall the food was just okay. Onion strings weren’t greasy, which was nice, but still seems to be lacking something. The burger was cooked perfectly to order and very tasty. Wings looked like they were fried to a perfect crunch, but not so much. Wish I had better news to share, but between the cigarette smoke, the super loud sound system, and a feeling like only regulars who were kind of rough around the edges were welcome the okay food won’t draw us back.

My wife and I decided on a quick trip to the Pub for dinner(I ‘accidentally’ forgot to take something out of the freezer this morning, so we had nothing for supper(poor baby)), so to the Pub we went with every intention of having a sandwich and(of course) a 1554(great beer!). The special tonight was pork chops with mashed potatoes and green beans and we decided to try those instead… WOW! Wonderful flavor and incredible portions had us rolling out the door to head home.

Great food great atmosphere! I eat here often and have never had a bad meal. I think I have tried everything. The chicken tenders are wonderful, as are the nachoes. Actually, they are the best nachoes anywhere! The atmosphere is fun and very friendly. They treat you like family.

My boyfriend and I end up here most Saturday nights. Dave(the bartender) is always very attentive and lively. He makes the night pretty fun. This past Saturday we ordered the dagwood and the french dip. Probably one of the best french dips I’ve had in a while. We both got salads to go with our sandwiches and they were great too! I highly recommended the jalapeño ranch. It really jazzed up my salad. Good beers on tap and always a long list of specials. They also do weekly food specials, so there’s always something new to try. Also a great place for sports. The tvs are placed perfectly behind the bar!

Holla! 50 cent wings on Thursdays! They did a good job putting out mailers. I’ve seen the signs for wednesday pub quiz night, when I’ve driven by but hadn’t had a chance to check it out. Really it’s a place to go if you happen to live in the area. It looks like it’s been around for a while and there’s a vibe that it’s a neighborhood thing(Yes Christina, I thought about the Cheer’s atmosphere too). There’s a decent selection at the bar and they have a few things on tap. Thursday’s seasonal was sweet Josie brown ale, not bad for supporting a local brew. Small booths along the back wall. A restroom not so clearly labeled in the very back(uh, the door that doesn’t look like it goes right into the kitchen). There’s plenty of patio seating too, and it spills out into the parking lot. If you haven’t been there before you actually approach the left side and there’s a door into the bar… they patio tables are kind of arranged so you can’t walk through the patio section to get in(you can, it’s just a lot of navigating).

Pub food, plain and simple. Burgers, wraps, salads, a couple entrees and a pretty nice beer selection. Borderline dive bar, but with pleasant bartenders and a pretty nice selection behind the bar to choose from. Lunch specials are very reasonable. Bottom line, take a Friday afternoon with your colleagues and go hang out for a while.

CHEESEFRIES! BEER! DIVEBAR! I love all of these things! West 94th is all of these things! They have a great beer selection, with both local and imported beers available. The fries are really good, and covered in gooey cheese goodness. The service is really good, and it’s all in a nice, awesome dive bar. Overall, win.

A strip center bar with character? Yep. It’s not quite a dive bar, but it’s close. Every time I go there, it seems there are a couple of old guys at one end of the bar who appear to be on the edge of fossilizing in their seats. Sometimes there’s this vibe that you’re the only one who doesn’t know everybody else, but it’s certainly not unfriendly. The food is much better than you would expect, especially the great wings. But it’s mostly about the beer. The selection isn’t huge, but everyone should be able to find some acceptable suds. I have had a problem a couple of times, though, with the draft beer not being as cold as I would like. The bartenders are upbeat and attentive. There’s greenery and strand lights around the bar overhang, so it’s like eternal Christmas. They also seem to be busy no matter the time of day. Occasionally you run across some clientele who are a whisper away from sketchy, but that’s all part of the fun. For an interesting contrast, do a pub crawl with this place and City Beverage across the street.
