Scott is AMAZING! He walked me through the home and showed me so much about it. His report was amazing and made the minor fixes that had to be done so much easier for the Construction Manager. He is a very courteous and professional. We plan on having him back for our 11 month New Home Inspection.

If you are looking for a versatile, professional and highly competent home inspector, I recommend Scott Capouch. He is friendly, an excellent communicator, professional and very thorough. His prompt communication and obvious expertise were key factors in my decision to hire him for my home inspection. He welcomed my presence during the inspection and gave detailed information along the way. Also, since I am buying an older home I was interested in energy efficiency advice. Scott is versed in this area as well and he provided me an additional report covering just those items.
His reports are well-​organized with illustrative photos and clear descriptions that indicate which items are urgent and which can wait until a future time. This is the kind of information a first-​time (or any) home buyer needs to focus efforts on more pressing things yet be aware of and able to plan ahead for items that will need attention eventually. I think the quality of Scott’s report contributed to the fact that the seller agreed to fix almost all of the items I requested. Furthermore, I had a concern about a defect with the house we discovered that could have indicated a larger flaw. Scott responded quickly to my questions and based on his experience and what he had witnessed on site, I felt confident that it was not a major issue.
His performance even impressed my real estate agent who called on him the following week for another client who needed a reputable inspector.

We have bought and sold several houses and have used a variety of home inspectors through each of these transactions. This was the first time we have had a home inspection from SRC Inspections and Consulting. Overall we were impressed by Scott’s knowledge, attention to detail, and communication. His engineering and construction background were immediately evident when we first discussed potential issues we were concerned about. After his inspection, Scott did a great job differentiating the severity of specific issues and explaining his rationale for addressing certain items sooner rather than later. His written report was clear and well organized and my wife and I liked the tabbed links in the report that take you straight to specific sections (roofing, exterior, structure, etc). Again, Scoot provided a thorough inspection, was personable, and took the time to make sure we understood the findings. We will definitely use SRC Inspections and Consulting again.

We recently had Scott at SRC Inspections and Consulting perform an inspection of our 1930’s home in Durham. Scott provided a detailed run-​down of key areas where our home could use a little extra care as well as pointing out the areas that needed more immediate attention.

I’ve bought and sold a few properties over time and this inspection report was far and away the most comprehensive but also the most helpful I’ve seen. Being a professional engineer, I think, gives Scott an advantage.
