As the other reviews say, this place is very convenient for Duke and VA employees. The food is good and the price is better than other restaurants close by. The service is okay, it can be a little slow. Overall a good place to eat.

I bring my lunch to work pretty much everyday so I can save money. But this place is very convenient since it’s in my work building if I want to treat myself to a chai or a croissant or when I don’t bring my lunch. Service is quick and the staff are friendly. Everything they serve looks to be fresh and homemade.

Great sandwiches and desserts. The sides are all cold and not my most favorite. They are not bad though. My favorite sandwich is their Turkey Chipotle sandwich. Love it! My 2nd favorite is the Chicken Melt.

Wonderful staff. They are so laid back and friendly. Delicious chai. Yummy, fresh sandwiches. Sinful, home made sweets. These aren’t store bought mass produced Danish!

I work in the building above Saladelia, and I eat there often. The staff is nice, the food is freshly made every day at the main Saladelia location(somewhere in Durham) and dropped off every morning. The coffee/iced coffee/smoothies/are delightful. They have tasty vegan and veggie options. And to my great joy they participate in Meatless Monday :) I could go on and on about their soup, veggie lentil and tomato basil are my absolute favorites, but every soup they have is quite awesome. …I don’t think they have wifi, but the building does, so many people go there to work or host business meetings.

This Saladelia is fantastic. The bold coffee is delicious, their breakfast croissant sandwiches are heavenly, their lunch specials with side are delicious and a good deal. The staff here are great. I love that they don’t seem to have much turnover. Keep it up b/c they are so nice and friendly, without being inefficient.

Ok, I pretty much love Saladelia. So much so that a friend of mine pretty much thinks I eat here exclusively. That’s not entirely true, but I have been to the Hock Plaza location a number of times. Port City Java was once in the lower floor of Hock Plaza, and I was a big fan of that establishment as well(primarily because it reminded me of Wilmington, NC). I was sad to see that café leave, but I was then happy to see Saladelia move into the space and into my heart! I imagine the heartbreak I felt was similar to a couple who sees their eldest child go off to college, and the unexpected joy was similar to what that couple feels when they then have an «unexpected»(accident) baby. That comparison is probably dead-on… While the selection in this location is clearly not as diverse or broad as that at the main shop on University Drive, there still is a decent variety to choose from. I’m a fan of the food primarily because it’s fresh, decently priced, and pretty healthy when compared to other options in the area. The paninis are always a hit with the chicken melt probably being my favorite – toasted, warm, and gooey(in a good way). Yum! The sandwiches and wraps are always good as well, especially the chicken souvlaki and greek gyro. For a side, I always get a serving of the hummus and pita as this is definitely some of the best hummus I’ve found in the area. Perfectly seasoned and with warm pita bread to scoop that good stuff up, you can’t go wrong there. There is a lunch special everyday where you get either a sandwich, wrap, or entrée and a side dish or cup of soup with a drink for a reduced price. I’ve opted for this numerous times and have been pleased each time. Get the chicken parm panini when it’s on special! The coffee here is also very good, and you can get a coffee card where the purchase of a dozen coffee drinks earns you a free cup of java. Just another thing in my life fueling my caffeine addiction. Staff here is decently friendly for the most part, although there is one employee that seems to be easily overwhelmed and then has a tendency to take it out on you, the customer. But hey, we’ve all been there! The space here in Hock Plaza is nice as it is pretty open and fitted with comfy chairs, a few couches, your typical tables/chairs, and one long table in the back for big groups. It is definitely in prime location for the Hock Plaza and Duke/VA employees, and offers a great breakfast/lunch option for these local employees. As mentioned in other reviews, however, the location of this Saladelia pretty much dictates limited hours(open till 5pm on Monday-Thursday and 4pm on Fridays; closed on the weekends). I understand the reasoning behind the limited hours, but some weekend hours would be clutch! So yes, I am a big Saladelia fan but I think for good reason!(but then again I am most certainly biased…)

Conveniently located in Hock Plaza which is ideal for employees who want to grab a quick bite. They have lots of options for breakfast and lunch, ranging from bagels and muffins to sandwiches, lasagna, and couscous. The staff is also very friendly,

Good coffee, airy, open space, good(for me) location. Sadly, they’re mostly set up to serve the folks who work in Hock Plaza and thus are not open on the weekends. That would truly merit 5 stars in this neighborhood!

This just opened today! and I’m already a fan. Firstly, it’s in my building. Secondly, the coffee is pretty good. Thirdly, I have a close backup to get coffee. What is not to love. They have a few selections for food. It’s limited, but I was told they’re getting more stuff in there. I bought a coffee and bagel this morning, and the cream cheese is whipped in house, so that’s special for them. So, for those of you who work around Duke medical center and dread walking all the way over to dunking donuts for coffee. This is definitely a nice option to have!
