If they are going to be dicks to their customers their pizza’s going to need to be better. The pizza was good, but the guy at the window wasn’t. If he was the owner I would have not gotten the pizza, but since he was a just a working class dick I thought I’d write a review instead. The people you hire to work a window should be people persons. Have the guys with no personality cook the pizza.

I love pizza, but didn’t expect anything«mind blowing» from a pizza food truck. Pie Pushers might not be overflowing with toppings, but they make a tasty pie that makes for a solid meal anytime you run into them. I will say, their pizza’s are best FRESH, the first time I tried one of their pies, someone brought pies to our office and they’d been sitting for a bit, not great. The second time I tried their pies, at the Unilocal Ritz Market, it turned my thoughts around and made me try them again recently at Ponysaurus. We ordered a whole«Local Firsthand» hold the mushrooms(tomato sauce, local sausage, bell peppers, fresh garlic and mozzarella), which came to $ 15& change for a whole pizza with eight large pieces. Again, the pies are light on the toppings, but the crust isn’t «floppy» and the flavor is good. It’s not going to be the best pizza you ever taste and I won’t stalk them at a food truck rodeo, but they’re a great brewery option.

These guys came to our office park last week and I got to finally try them. I got a slice of pizza for $ 3(whoooooo). It was a large slice of NY Style pizza. It came out hot and I thought was priced very reasonable. My friend got a pepperoni pocket. The pockets are made fresh so they take about 5 – 7 minutes to get(if there’s no one in front of you). It was really good and fresh, but had a good amount of just dough on the ends. It was served with marinara sauce and was $ 7. This truck had the cheapest drinks of all the trucks on site that day. $ 1 bottles of water! Service was good, friendly, and fast. I would definitely check them out again.

These guys are killing it. Great for a $ 3 slice after the bar, equally great for a whole specialty pie to take home with a six pack. The Cubano is a stroke of brilliance. And seriously… at $ 15 – 17 for a large specialty pizza, it’s less expensive and better than anything available at what I would consider its peers(Mellow Mushroom, Randy’s). Truly one of the best values in Durham.

Sp effin good. I just can’t. I love it so much. The first time we had this was in Durham during another coffee festival and of course we were hungry, It was decently priced and who doesn’t love a good pizza right? I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor, it was such a good pizza and the garlic knots were on point. Will be trying again soon.

Holy crap, these guys are awesome! This is the best pizza I’ve had since moving down to the triangle… now if they could open a fixed location so I don’t have to constantly search for them…

We had Pie Pushers cater our wedding a few weeks ago. We booked them way back in September when we got engaged and they have been so easy to work with. Shelly was amazing to help plan the menu and respond to my neurotic bride tendencies. I had always dreamed of having pizza at my wedding and they made it happen! The day of, they set up and kept the food coming! We had 75 guests that were all pleased and full and ready to dance! Soooo many compliments on the food! They even boxed up leftovers and people took them at the end of the night, talk about a wedding favor! I’m pretty sure taking home a delicious pizza is the best wedding favor ever. Don’t be afraid to break out of the typical wedding food box! We love Pie Pushers!

Best Pizza from a Truck or from a restaurant in the area. Great crispy crust, fresh local toppings and friendly fast service. Seek this husband and wife team out, it’s worth the trip!

My virgin experience with Pie Pushers left me satisfied, but no more. I guess I am spoiled and used to being wowed by my first truck adventures, and this experience was just ok. I ordered a slice of cheese and pepperoni. The slices are large and thin(NY style), and were solid, but the sauce was a little week in my opinion. The pie pushers truck is a little underwhelming visually from the exterior compared to other trucks(yes, I judge food trucks based on this criteria). Might hit them up again for a quick hot slice. The price point was good($ 3 per slice).

The long line for this food truck was the first sign of Pie Pusher’s reputation as one of the best on the road, but the wait was surprisingly not that long, giving us time to grab some free drinks from the cooler. Super appreciative that they didn’t charge a dollar for a bottle of water, unlike some of the neighboring trucks. Among the many specials, I decided to try the spinach and shroom pizza. When I saw the size of the slice, parts of my brain either shut down or started celebrating. The thin crust was wonderful, the feta cheese melted really well, and overall it was a delicious and flavorful meal. New member of the Pie Pushers line, coming through.

My boss calls this truck«The Pusher Man» because their pizza is so addictive. I like that they offer reliable standby slices, such as Italian or plain cheese, but also a new and inventive(or rotating seasonal) slice every time I visit, such as the delicious and tantalizing Beetza(beets and goat cheese). The ingredients(often local!) are fresh and the prices are reasonable. The service is great too. My only suggestion would be to offer an additional veggie side, other than a salad, for example steamed broccoli or spinach. Although Pie Pushers is great about showcasing veggies on their pizzas, I sometimes feel guilty ordering 2 slices, but I wouldn’t feel so bad ordering 1 slice plus a vegetable side.

Biscuits for breakfast… how can you go wrong? There’s an emerging myth that food trucks – apart from being tres cool – are better options than many restaurants. Well, not all food trucks are created equal, and I’ve had many bad-to-mediocre meals at many a food truck in even the most hipsterish of places such as Austin, Portland, and RDU. But let me just say that the breakfast biscuits from these guys rock! And you don’t even need to add the bacon(no, seriously, you don’t). Just egg, tomato on the buscuit makes it divine… oh, and the cheese… Get you some. Tell them I sent you.

Best pizza in Durham, hands down. I don’t know how they do it, but Pie Pushers has somehow mastered the delicate art of creating excellent thin crust pizza on a food truck. They come to the office and serve at lunchtime at least once a month, and I never miss an opportunity to get a slice. In fact, I usually order a whole pie and enjoy it for dinner for the next couple days as well. I highly recommend their specialty slices. They rotate their selection, and usually offer around 4 options at a time. The ingredients are typically locally sourced and fresh, not to mention delicious. Pie Pushers gets an A+ from me.

Pie Pushers is one of the old-timers in the Triangle food truck movement. It’s been around so long because it’s good! It’s not the most amazing pizza I’ve ever tasted, but the fact that I can get it on the go – at whatever festival or brewery I’m at – matters a lot. The slices are huge and I also highly recommend their calzones – seriously, they’re the way to go(they’re called«pockets» on the Pie Pushers menu). If instead of slices you want a whole pie, you can call ahead and order one to go. how cool is that?

Working the Durham Food Truck Rodeo is never easy when there are endless trucks around you and you only have a few minutes to run away from your booth to grab a bite. I watched hundreds of people noshing all day long but I was drooling watching the folks folding that amazing pizza slice and taking a bite. I have a weakness for pizza and Pie Pushers did not disappoint. I really wish I would have ordered one of their gourmet slices they had a winter veggie pizza this past Sunday that looked amazing. I decided just to grab a quick slice of cheese since I was in a hurry. I love that they heat up those slices so perfectly you just can’t resist diving right in, but warning be careful that pizza is hot. The crust was perfect just the way I like it crispy and thin, but not thin like thin crust you could fold, roll and eat this slice however you like it. My only complaint is that it was a little too greasy for me if that is possible. I ended up blotting my slice with a few napkins before eating it up. For $ 3 a slice(cheese or pepperoni) I will be seeking this truck out all over town. I also saw a ton of people ordering whole pies, what a great idea! You can order wings and 3 different kinds of garlic knots including knots stuffed with pesto, and sausage knots. Pie Pushers is making pizza right and you must put it on your list to try!

I don’t know how to say this except that PIEPUSHERSISUNEQUIVOCALLYTHEBESTPIZZAINTHETRIANGLE. I know that I can take those words back if I need to. I know I can edit this review, or update it. I also know that I ran 15 miles the day I ate Pie Pushers(marathon training) and that pretty much everything tastes like perfection when your body is begging for calories. Let me start with why this place ISN’T the best: –it’s a food truck. Don’t get me wrong, I do have a bias in favor of food trucks because they are the«it» thing in some parts of the food world today. I also know we’ll all giggle at ourselves in a decade(or sooner) for thinking that just because food was made in a truck it was somehow superior, even if they did influence eating in awesome ways at the time. Not all food trucks are equal(e.g. Old North State BBQ is probably less than mediocre) –being a food truck, and a food truck with GOOD food, inevitably lines will form. You have to wait awhile for your slices. More than you would at a normal by-the-slice joint. It might have something to do with trying to cram a PIZZAOVEN in your truck. Okay, food truck-y-ness and waiting aside, why this pizza is da BESTEST in da Triangle(in ascending order of greatness). Sauce: It’s spectacular with regard to what is does NOT do: it doesn’t get in the way of the rest of the pizza. It’s not overpowering, it doesn’t scald the roof of your mouth, There isn’t too much sauce, which causes cheese and toppings to slide onto the street. There isn’t too little sauce, which almost never happens because everyone puts sauce on da pizza. Toppings: Like the sauce, the toppings either don’t get in the way of what truly makes this za great, or they complement it. I had the pepperoni, and it was fantastic. Not too salty, but ya could taste it. My wife ordered some sort of specialty za, and I had a bite just to taste. I was doubtful that it would be any good, but it was. Had something like slices of tomato and parmesan or something on it. Still a darn good pizza. Crust: Here we are getting into the greatness territory. Don’t underrate the crust. The crust is your foundation. It’s what all the goodness rests on before sittin nicely in your belly. The crust at Pie Pushers is near perfect. And all it takes is a simple test. The Crusty Integrity Test. I know that sounds like a paradox, and perhaps it is. But if you can FOLD a slice of pizza INHALF – so that it fits nicely into your gaping maw – and if it does so WITHOUTFALLINGAPART, you have reached pizza crust integrity, people. Pie Pushers not only PASSES this test, but ACES it, down to the crust nubbins. I have been to only two or three pizza joints in the triangle that have passed the Crusty Integrity Test(Mellow Mushroom gets a pass because its pies are more fork-n-knife affairs, but you could fold em if you wanted to good luck). Cheese: I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I’ve lived for years in the pizza mecca, New York City. I don’t want to say anything more than that Pie Pushers might have the best pizza cheese I have ever tasted and possibly the best I will ever taste. It is beyond describing in mere words. Eat it for yourself. But I warn you: if I see Pie Pushers at the next food truck rodeo, I may elbow you out of the way. No I won’t. I want everyone to enjoy this. The biggest question is: why don’t these guys open a restaurant?! Ditch the truck, fellas! Might I suggest the Carrboro/Chapel Hill area? P. S. The garlic knots were fine but unmemorable and marinara sauce was soupy.

Last night I finally got to experience some Pie Pushers glory! I’ve been waiting a long time for this. It was worth the wait. The guys were so friendly and the service was fast. Having pizza on a Friday night is family tradition and this pie pushin’ experience didn’t disappoint! — 1 really good sized slice of Pepperoni Pizza — $ 3 — 1 sausage garlic knot, with real fresh garlic inside, plus a little marinara sauce for dipping — $ 1 — 1 bottle of water — $ 1 +$ 1 tip Perfect Friday night staple for a chill night in Durham hanging out at Full Steam. Thanks most of all for the smiles guys.

There’s nothing like a great slice of za and that’s exactly what Pie Pushers dishes out. Tabbed as Durham-style pizza, Pie Pushers cooks up a very thin crust pie with a snappy crust. The crust is thin but dense which allows it to handle any gourmet toppings they put on. And Pie Pushers is pretty generous with their toppings so don’t feel bad about the $ 3 — $ 5 per slice, price. Their plain cheese slice is great too, a good sign for any pizza purveyor. I’ve eaten with Pie Pushers several times and its always been good food and good service. Hard to believe they can put a pizza oven into that trailer of theirs but yeah, check out the picture. Thanks for taking care of my pizza fix, Pie Pushers!
