This food truck had very fast and courteous service. Delicious and interesting food choices. Not your normal fried foods. I’d highly recommend trying it!

I have to bump my review up to 5. I just had the Chicken Tikka Masala with crisp & fresh veggies. It was so full of flavor — my taste buds were in ecstasy! Even the basmati rice, without the sauce, was delicious. I hope this dish is a regular feature b/c I need to have this again!

Let me just start out by saying that the food here is DELICIOUS! I’m a huge fan! The plain exterior of the truck deceiving because the food is so good and full of flavor! I had the falafel pita sandwich with homeamde falafel balls, lettuce, tomato, delicious sauce, all on a fresh pita! Seriously, so delicious! And even if you are not a vegetarian, their homemade falafel is truly devine! The staff was friendly and they made my food really quickly! So if Mama Duke’s is ever in your area, you really should check them out!

Stop the bus! Or, rather the truck. The food is great! I always make a point to skip the brown bag lunch on days that Mama Duke’s rolls into my office building parking lot. The unidentified sauce they put on their pita’s is heavenly, and their pasta salad is unlike any I’ve had before. They seem to have a slightly different menu each time, and I appreciate the variety and that they incorporate a mix of curry dishes and more traditional Mediterranean options. They also cater. They’re based in Durham, but check them out in Raleigh at Pilot Mill random Tuesday’s or Thursday’s at lunch time – their schedule varies, so call to find out.

I’ve never had a better falafel INMYLIFE. And even better than the sandwich is the falafel tots. Not only me but my 2 year old loves the food here. The falafel only barely beats out the chicken curry… oh dear god. I have converted many of my friends to avid followers of Mama Dukes. I almost never leave reviews for things but this one is well deserved.

So I had my mind on some kind of Greek food for lunch. But when I saw Shrimp and Mussels over linguini on the menu for just $ 8 I had to try it! And oh was it an awesome choice! Except for them not peeling the shrimp which made for messy fingers, it was fresh seafood over perfectly cooled pasta with a great cream sauce. The mushrooms, tomatoes and sprinkle of scallions made the perfect touch! I know I will be back just for this although easily could have been tempted by their other good dishes — curried chicken w/basmati, chilli and sausage over rice, and plenty of your Greek favorites! This was a great food truck lunch today! Go try yourself!

Still a big fan. Some of the best falafel(and dressings) I’ve had. Very smooth center with lots of green(parsely?) and crisp outside.

Mama Duke’s is a weekly event for my company. It started with a few of us going to eat there. Then it was a half dozen. Then a few more. And finally, today, half the company seemed to be there at the same time, and we returned to our office for a Mamathon lunch, full of falafel tots, curried coconut chicken and bbq sandwiches. Let’s start with the falafel tots. Ostensibly these aren’t far removed from plain ol’ falafel balls, other than being infinitely cooler simply by being categorized within the tot kingdom. Mama’s tots are deeply charred and delicious, with more fried surface area than a standard falafel ball. They don’t ring as clearly of chickpea as some other variations you might find in a typical middle eastern restaurant; the hot dog and burger variations offer up the same flavor profile and come highly recommended. The two hot dog variation, slathered with garlic, red pepper and tzatziki sauces and served with slaw, probably offers the most flavor variation and bang-for-your-falafel. The curry variations are perhaps the best standby out of the meat options. The curried coconut chicken over saffron basmati rice and related meat skewers are the owner’s consistent recommendation anytime he’s asked what’s good on the menu. Other offerings — pulled-meat-of-the-day sliders, pastas, etc. are a bit variable, but are never less than good. Service consistency is one thing that needs a bit of work. Sides are delivered at approximately 80% efficiency, sodas a ways below that. It’s a bit rough to take one’s meal, walk back to work in 40 degree temperatures, only to realize your Diet Coke is back at the truck. Take it from the Duke of Duke’s. This place should be your dining destination anytime it finds its way to a parking lot near you.

Holy falafel! Fresh, home made, and delicious are the first words that come to mind when i think of mama dukes. However, a word of warning, their portion sizes are large at leaset when it comes to the falafel burger or hot dogs, you can definitely split these entrée’s with your buds. I had half of my falafel-burger the next day warmed up in the microwave and was pleasently surprised how well it tasted! Ok now im getting hungry again.

Looking for Mama Dukes? If you don’t follow them on Twitter, try the Surf Club on Thursday & Friday nights and Sam’s Quick Shop off & on. When I caught up with them last, those were their favorite locations to hang. I hear they head out to RTP sometimes too. Mama Duke’s is a mix between Greek and American(and Italian? I swear I saw parmigiano on the menu once) food. They have some fantastic«falafel tots» and serve up some really awesome meat on a stick. Pork, chicken, and steak lovers, you’ll love this truck. For a real good price you can get a plate of food that will fill you up. And, generally I end up sharing with people. For the vegetarians out there, they do have some fantastic falafel(in tot & burger form) as well as some specials that normally include one veggie friendly item. Michael is a real stickler for getting good ingredients for his food. He & Mike(the other guy in the truck) have been doing this for awhile too… they’ve only recently come to Durham. Also, for you gluten free lovers, it’s really good for that too. Foods that are fried or served on buns are the ones you should stay away from. And if you’re super sensitive, well, I’m sure you have your own standards, but for me, meat on a stick always seems like a good choice.

The specials menu consistently offers something new and amazing!!! RTP for lunch or Downtown Durham for late night dinners, I’m there!

This new food truck gives us Greek food on the go, a welcome new concept on the food truck scene — and food that’s tons better than the street-food gyros you get at the State Fair. I chose one of the specials — grilled pineapple and sausage skewers for $ 8. I substituted rice for the gourmet falafal tots. And chose the garlic tahini dipping sauce.(But the red pepper tahini and the cucumber-dill tzatziki are awesome too. The fellas were really friendly, and offered a dollop of each for me to sample and choose from.) My plate was HUGE, with two pieces of pita, greens, and generous cuts of pineapple and sausage. I thought my tots were overdone, but everything was tasty. There’s a minimum $ 10 credit card charge. Check ‘em out at Surf Bar’s courtyard two nights a week(genius!), and soon at the train station near Pop’s.
