Lovely 3rd floor studio in downtown Durham. Very welcoming front desk staff and wonderful sliding scale/suggested donation class cost. My lunchtime class with Cameo was a nice, chill class. Mid lulu-ratio(% of yogis/yoginis wearing Lululemon) and small class size. Beautiful light in the studio and the space itself is gorgeous! Street parking is free!

Global Breath is fantastic. Fun, challenging and rewarding. Nina and Bart know their stuff, show care for students, and provide different difficulty levels for poses. You will find yourself learning and progressing while feeling a deep sense of peace. And very affordable!

The way that Nina and Bart have designed their Yoga teacher training at Global Breath studio, and the knowledge they share, is so much more than a Yoga teacher training, it sculpts you into a teacher in all aspects of life. The MBCY certification program is well-rounded, rigorous, and involves a personalized approach to yoga as a curative system that everyone can benefit from. The principal teachers, Nina and Bart, live a life of spiritual service, and part of all class/training proceeds are donated to building and sustaining the Ingrid School in Kenya. Global breath is definitely a life transforming destination.

Global Breath is an all-around fantastic yoga studio. This is big for me to say because I have tried a LOT of yoga studios and I’ve very rarely found yoga classes that work for me. Nina’s yoga class centered, focused, and relaxed me in a way that made happiness beam from my body. She’s a truly gifted teacher. She listened to what the class wanted(if we had a headache/backache, etc.) and then tailored the class perfectly to accommodate us. The space is also great to be in — sun beams through the windows and the exposed brick and wood is gorgeous. I highly recommend this place!

I just love this place! The energy is warm and inviting(and so are Nina and Bart). I immediately felt part of a community and welcomed into a nonjudgmental space. The studio is bright and clean and very relaxing. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

Awesome yoga studio in DT Durham. So warm, welcome, and genuine. You will be challenged, but you will also be safe and feel supported. There is SO much wisdom in the pairing of Bart and Nina. Absolutely take advantage of it!

I love Global Breath! Nina and Bart are knowledgeable, welcoming and genuinely concerned that you have a positive experience. I love the concept that the proceeds from Global Breath support a school in Kenya. Its wonderful knowing that my practice helps me and others I have never met.

The studio space is beautiful and peaceful. The yoga taught at Global Breath is gentle and connected to the mind/body/breath. Nina and Bart have created a space for a community of practice for peace, kindness and compassion that is also down-to-earth. There is frequent laughter, and no shame in falling from a pose(done it!). I attend a weekday lunchtime classes and feel totally spoiled to get so much attention since that time of day can be difficult for most folks. I wanted to develop a yoga practice that would help me to develop greater mindfulness and compassion, and am so grateful to have a space and community in which to do so.

Global Breath is not a typical yoga studio — it is a home for all yogis. Nina and Bart live a life to serve others and this studio serves as a space they hold for everyone to benefit from. This includes the Ingrid School in Kenya that Nina and Bart donate part of all class proceeds to building and sustaining. It is located on the top floor of a renovated historic building, with a dramatic backdrop of all the essential Durham landmarks and beautiful refinished hardwood floors. Try a class here and realize the miracle of you!

If you are practicing yoga in the Triangle area, and you haven’t practiced with Nina or Bart, then you are doing a disservice to yourself. Nina and Bart are true teachers. I’m now living in New York, but I hear their words in my head everyday. Their teachings have stuck with me because they teach with the utmost integrity and respect for the practice. They helped me develop tools within myself that I can access at any time. They’re truly compassionate teachers, and interested in helping others develop better relationships with themselves, so that they can then become present for the others in their life. I’ve had an amazing journey with them, and I hope more people will have the same opportunity. If you are new to yoga, or if you have been practicing for a long time, you will find yourself completely at home in their studio. It’s a yoga experience that everyone deserves to have.

Global Breath Studio has opened in downtown Durham. This is really exciting for Main St. because there is new life being breathed into this area of town. Bart and Nina are teaching yoga classes several times a week and offering yoga teacher trainings on the weekends. Their space is wood floors, exposed brick, lots of light, gorgeous views. I took Bart and Nina’s 200 hr yoga teacher training last summer and got so much out of the experience(way too much to even begin describing here). My yoga went to a whole new level, different than I ever expected. They are super caring and knowledgeable. I am so thankful I chose this training over any other in the Triangle area. I wish I would have been able to take the training in their new awesome space! Some cool stuff about Global Breath: they run a non-profit called LiveGlobally. Part of the proceeds from the yoga trainings and classes go to building schools/feeding children healthy meals at the Ingrid Education Center in Kenya. They offer a free coffee or tea if you walk or bike instead of drive. And if you have to drive, there is a cheap(or free!) parking lot ½ a block away. They have a sliding scale for class donations. I’ve been so excited for this space to open and bring more good vibes to downtown Durham. This is such a different experience than your typical yoga studio– they have clearly put their hearts into this project.
