Love Durham Market Place. They carry locally raised products and care about what is on their shelves.

This is a modestly upscale grocery store with an emphasis on locally sourced food and some interesting gourmet items. Prices are slightly above big chain stores but not exorbitant. Excellent meat, fresh fish and produce, including many organic produce items. Very friendly staff who know many people by name. Fresh sushi made on site. We order a fresh turkey here every year for Thanksgiving. Large assortment of wines and beers but they are VERY careful not to sell to underage students. Don’t even try to use a fake ID here because they will spot it. Overall, this is a great place to shop. I’m surprised this is the first Unilocal review.

This is THE go-​to place for the best ingrediants in the area! Fantastic butcher shop, fish monger, and specialty section. If you love hot sauces, they have over 100 to choose from. And don’t get me started on the ice cream window !!
Even more important is how knowledgable and nice all the people are. Some of the nicest folks around!
