My family and I eat there at least once a month. If you you are looking for authentic Mexican food this is the restaurant for you to try. Love the food and the staff! I love the beef burritos as they are so good!

In my opinion, very authentic Mexican food… how can I tell? We’re usually the only«Americans» in the restaurant. Very good, generous portions. Incredibly inexpensive, for what you get. And BYOB. They have outside seating when its nice out, very friendly staff. Mis amigos wont disappoint.

Everyone knows Mis Amigos is the best spot to get food in Dunellen. It’s a well knows fact that this authentic Spanish food restaurant serves healthy and delicious meals for a fair price. The price range is medium. The food is EXCELLENT. Very nice environment with options to eat outside or in and to take your food out with you. There’s parking all around the street location. This is my favorite place to get food in the area and my friends, family, and I use it as a place to eat out together for a good night. *BYOB* 5STARS

So good, so authentic, people are so nice, prices are so reasonable. I just love it. I’ve been here 3 times already in less then 2 months. Their homemade sausage in the burrito or soft tacos is delicious. My favorite is the Chile relleno.

Its really awesome to have an authentic burrito spot close to work with very reasonable prices. You are always served with two types of fresh salsa(tomato and verde) when you sit. The waitstaff is very friendly and open to any alterations you may request. My food always comes out quick and the portions are generous. I get a veggie burrito and its served with fresh guacamole and pickled peppers. The jukebox is filled with all sorts of traditional music and Mariachi which adds a nice touch. When the weather is nice you can eat outside and have a relaxing lunch or dinner. Bring cash if your bill is under $ 10 and don’t forget to bring a quarter for the meter!

Yum! I officially love this place! As a California native I’ve been missing some good authentic Mexican food and here it is! The food is relatively cheap, and they don’t cut on quality. For people new to this, order some lengua you wont be disappointed!

The food is always good and prices are VERY reasonable. It’s a great place to go with family or friends and BYOB. Take out is a go to option for us when we want satisfying food and just too tired to cook. We have never been disappointed.

Went there last night. First off let me state that I’ve had traditional Mexican in the DF as well as going to some family owned businesses in California and Texas. This is about as traditional as is gets. Don’t be fooled by places that claim this and you end up getting TeX Mex. Positives: Two entrees and two appetizers and soda: $ 32. Where else can you say that for freshly prepared food. Service very friendly. BYOB! Needs working: Wait time was long. Waited thirty minutes for appetizers and two minutes later our entrees showed up. I’m not one to be rushed and like some time between meals. I went from starving to all of a sudden getting apps and make at same time. I felt like I got four entrees at the same time.

My husband and I came here after reading all the good reviews. We were very disappointed all around. From the atmosphere to the service to the food we were unhappy. The service seemed unorganized and very slow. Everyone around us had to wait a long time to get their food and we waited at least 20 min to get our check when we were done. The food was the biggest disappointment. Everything was very bland. The green salsa they first give you had barely any flavor. The guacamole was a light green color and was flavorless. We added salt to the guacamole just to give it something. I ordered the chicken flautas and stuffed pepper. The pepper was soggy and the cheese was very chewy. My husband got the enchiladas verdes which were a bit better than my meal. It seemed the only flavoring they used through the entire dish was lime juice. We will not be returning any time soon

A friend from Rutgers recommended this place. I was skeptical about the 20+ minute drive when there are so many places I choose from in New Brunswick but I tried it once and have been back at least once a month ever since. Cool authentic casual atmosphere, really now family owned restaurant. Awesome food at a great price. Salsa verde and chips served before meal are to die for. Led me to get the enchiladas verde which I haven’t strayed from since. Even the refried beans rock. My GF loves the carne asada a eggs(y huevos… I think… my Spanish isn’t great) Street parking can some times be hard to find, we’ve had to walk quite a distance before during busy times. TL/DR: totally authentic food served at a nice family restaurant, can’t go wrong.

Had a recent visit with the family. Once again we had the mixed fajita which we always order when we come here. It was as good as ever. Delicious shrimp, chicken, and steak mixed with cheese and peppers(which makes it taste a lot less cheesy) served on a hot sizzling platter. Great portion size as usual. This visit I also ordered the spicy pork steak with stuffed peppers. It was also delicious — a sort of Mexican pork bulgogi. The stuffed pepper was actually a poblano I believe(not spicy enough and too big to be a jalapeño I would think). Delicious cheese filled the inside. Not cheesy at all — just the right mix of slightly crude pepper to counteract the cheese taste. Tender meat with the dish. Only ordering 2 entrees and shared between two adults and a toddler, we had a lot of leftovers to take home. You get a great bang for your buck coming here and the food is delicious and its byob. Can’t beat that. There aren’t too many restaurants I know of that meet all those criteria.

Finally found an authentic Mexican restaurant in Jersey! My wife and I get Mexican good cravings frequently and now we know where to go. I’m from Mexico so I appreciate having the authentic drinks. It’s nice to find very similar menu options to what you would find in Mexico.

This is your basic American, «authentic» central/south of Mexico i.e. regionally Puebla Mexican joint. It’s pretty decent for NJ, if this was in my old neighborhood of Sunset Park, it would be average at best. If you are looking for Tex-Mex or understand Mexican food to be Tex-Mex this place might gross you out. There are going to be cumin, mole, poblano pepper, sour tamarind tinged sauces that will downright freak you out. That said if you are not adventurous stick with Fajitas and tortas which are always good and safe. Other that that service is great, portions are large. Food is just ok. It’s a very kinda stuff your face with giant portions kinda place. And to be honest I don’t know if I would travel out of my way to come back as I understand what this place is. If you are local and have never had regionally correct Mexican food it would be good for you to try the menu though!
