Good food but terrible service. We’ve been here several times because it is convenient and we like the food, but we have received the worst service from the girls. They have all been rude and not very concerned with taking care of the tables. We’ve been taken care of by 2 male servers there who were great. The girls need an attitude adjustment though.

Personally, I think this place is very relaxing and fun. I love lounging by the pool and having the drinks delivered pool side. The food is very typical of a beach side bar. Everything is deep fried and inexpensive. Each night, they have Sunset Shots which is a nice bonus.

Horrible service. Sat outside at the waited tables and could not get a server to stop for the life of us. Mind you everyone around us continued to get service. Everyone wanted to order food and drinks and could not due to the lack of a waitress even though plenty were available. Came back again to have a Cuban and received excellent and attentive service. Food was delicious and perfect temperature. Everyone made sure we were well cared for and always had anything that was needed.

Personally I think Marker 8 is the best sunset bar in the Dunedin area. My friend and I got a table right on the water. We ordered mudslides to start and they were delicious. We wanted to get a quick bite to eat and decided to go with the quesadillas and waffle fries. The food was not very good and I found it very weird that they served their food in Styrofoam containers… maybe it was just the night I was there??? I was surprised to see that there were 2 pools in the bar/seating area. The location is in a hotel/condo complex. They also have a corn hole game setup which can make for a fun outing with friends. Wait staff was friendly but a little slow. Definitely recommend for sunset and a drink, not for the food.

So we had a challenging first go at this place, but I believe in second chances. A BCC coupon reeled us in with a free lunch or dinner with the purchase of a meal and two drinks. I like free shit, so figured what the hell. 2:45PM Friday, La Chica and I roll up hungry and in sit in the same spot at the bar as our first attempt. The young lady behind the bar immediately acknowledged us and took our drink orders. Then, after we had a chance to gaze over the menu, she promptly took our grub orders. Dundein Cuban for me, and shrimp cocktail and fries for the lady. After a short 10 minute wait, our food comes out. The guy who dropped it off wasn’t the friendliest, but everything is 100% than our last visit, so I was stoked. My sandwich looked great, and the first thing I did was open it up for an inspection. Real Cuban bread, check. Roast pork, check. Swiss cheese, check. Mustard, pickles and salami, check. Uh oh, boiled ham. Meh, fuck it. I can’t expect perfection. I took a huge bite, and I was pleasantly surprised. Very solid Cuban! I dusted it off quickly, and then helped La Chica tackle some waffle fries. They came with a mildly spicy cheese dipping sauce the set em off proper. We migrated to a waterside table after feeding where we sat and made new friends for 6 hours, well past sunset! I love this place. I’m glad we gave it another go.

Marker 8 is a cool little tiki bar with an amazing view on the water. Food is standard bar fare mostly, but it’s good and not too expensive. Bartenders are friendly, sociable and attentive. Seemed like most of the patrons were local to me. Very laid back. Come here for the view and the vibe and you’ll not be disappointed. It is a tiki bar, not a French restaurant!

The location, over the gulf is lovely but the service was fair. The food was okay but everything was serviced in styrofoam, takeout containers. The cost merited something more than styrofoam and plastic ware. I wasn’t impressed and will NOT be returning! !!!

I was in here last week it was a little windy and a beer blew over at our table, So I told the bartender I spilled a drink and she hands me a roll of paper towels. I was taken back how she wanted me to clean. So we paid the bill and left!

Beautiful spot on the water. From the front it doesn’t look like anything, but an older condo building. It actually is a resort. Walk towards the back, pick a spot in the high chairs(I sont usually pick high chairs because since I’m short, it is a pain to climb). But it is a wonderful view of our beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Don’t take it for granted if you live here. People pay lots of money to visit our wonderful place. Yes, it can be touristy, but what’s so wrong with being touristy in your home. I will take it. And I won’t share. Grab a drink, take some fab sunset pics, and enjoy your day & night!!! Don’t forget to repeat!

This is a little resort and pool area with a bar and bites on the Gulf near Dunedin. It’s a nice setting but feels a little too touristy for me. But one can do worse than sip on a piña colada aqui. It’s kind of a party vibe with some douchebaggery. But it’s not a bad spot. :P

This seems to be the bar that the locals love to hate. You just can’t beat the view here, so people keep coming back, only to get disappointed. I’ll give it a 5-star for sunsets, but usually just a 1 or 2 for service. It seems like they may be getting their act together(Fingers crossed!). The food seems to have steadily gotten better over the last year. They are also drawing a bit more of a local following after FINALLY initiating a decent happy hour from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on the weekdays. I still hate that they serve their drinks in plastic cups. It’s a pool bar. No glass. I get it! But, there’s got to be a happy medium between glass and the cheap type of plastic cup that looks like the nurse just handed it to you along with directions to the bathroom and where exactly to leave your specimen. In this last visit, I ordered a Peach Tea off of their specialty drink menu. It is simply Smirnoff Peach vodka with tea. I was told that it does not quality for happy hour because it is a «specialty» drink. I next ordered my own mix of Smirnoff Raspberry vodka with tea. Voila! A happy hour drink! Half the price of the other one… I’ll know what to order the next time I go. The new tiki bar in the center of the buildings has added a lot to the atmosphere. The new bartenders seem to be more attentive and I didn’t have to wait for service. I’ll go back and hope that they keep steadily improving so that I can give them a better review next time!

A nice find. Great location. Good margaritas. Food is packaged to-go. Burgers were better than expected. Good service.

It so amusing to me how full of snobs Unilocal has become. Marker 8 is a great place to hang out with friends and family. Awesome views and a free sunset shot to top it off. Food and is decent and ive never had any issues with service. It actually is pleasant that children must be kept separate from the adult side of things. Live music and a pool to hang out in adds to the experience as there really isnt any other place around like this.

Always a good time. Very local with a full tiki bar for all to enjoy after hanging in Dunedin or out on the water. There is live music, tvs, and a fully renovated bar that put them in the next level. Food is available, but it’s not their strong suit. Free shot at sunset!

Although the service usually sucks and my order has been messed up many times I have continued to go back here many times. The view of the sunset here is wonderful. If you have a boat it’s easy to dock it. There is a public pool to hang out in, at times its cloudy with crap floating from the drunks. If you go often be prepared to meet the regular locals. Occasionally the music is good and the crowd is entertaining.

Marker 8 is a nice bar! Large TV for sporting events and drinks are priced well. However, I’m not a smoker and any breeze blows someone’s smoke on me. The food is mediocre and served in to go boxes. When they have a band it’s a fun place to hangout. Summer weekends get a fun crowd. So I recommend a visit but go in knowing what to expect.

This is a fantastic place for the locals to experience a «stay cation»! They offer two pools. One for the residents of the condominium/appartment renters and one for the patrons of Marker 8. My friends and I like to bike here via the Pinellas Trail. There is ample bike parking and not always a lot of car parking. We like to enjoy our drinks, sitting in the pool, gazing out across the water, marveling that we live in paradise. Because at Marker 8 you can feel like your on a mini vacation. The drinks are a little pricy($ 7 – 13 for a cocktail) but the atmosphere is amazing! The food is good bar food, but nothing special. Service is usually attentive. My favorite is the rum buckets! They are fairly big, so we usually have two people drinking out of one. For a little extra, you can get a floater!

Marker 8 offers the best views in Dunedin. We had been wanting to visit since moving to the area two years ago. Finally we made the time and it happened to be on the day they were relocating the bar so it was closed. However one of the staff stopped what she was doing, greeted us and gave us a tour. Very friendly. We returned two more times that week. The food is standard bar fare but It’s done pretty well and considering the atmosphere and location, not overpriced. I had the Buffalo Wings and my wife had a Burger. Both were very good. But Marker 8 is about location, view and friendly service. They have a pool you can dip in on hot days, plenty of TVs for watching football and offer a free shot at sunset.(Beat sunset views in Dunedin). This is a great place for locals and a great place to bring your out of town guests.

You need to take Marker 8 for what it is. It’s a bar on the water, and for that, it’s great. Anyone can use their pool which is right on the gulf. A free pool with a great view makes the $ 5 for a can of corona okay in my book. Their frozen drinks are good, and they only charge .99 for a 151 floater. I’ve never eaten here, so maybe that’s why the reviews are pretty negative, but for a swim, and cold drink Marker 8 is a great spot.

This is one of those times where I’m not sure why some of the other reviews are negative! I found marker 8 to be awesome! Stopped by on a whim on a recent Friday night, wanting to go somewhere new(that also had nice outdoor seating). We arrived around 7PM, there was live music and the tiki bar as well as all the tables out back were packed. My friend and I had a few drinks, but we did not have food so I can’t comment anything about that. We both liked our drinks! I will say the service was a bit slow but everyone was friendly and they were pretty busy so I can understand why there was a bit of a delay. There are also 2 pools out back that are available to the guests of the tiki bar if you’re interested in checking it out The view here is absolutely amazing at sunset! It was so enjoyable to sit out back watching the sunset. There are also docks and boat slips out back open to the public I loved this place and will definitely go back again
