Went to the restaurant yesterday, for a leisurely lunch. My wife ordered a strawberry martini and I had my usual iced tea. We ordered a lump crab meat martini with remoulade and I had the prosciutto and onion marmalade crostini. The crab was phenominal, however the crostini had a giant piece of glass in it, that i almost bit into and swallowed. Unfortunatly for us, we will not be going back to this place for a long time, even though this was one of our favorite spots for a good meal.

Tom Terrific here with another honest restaurant review. Bön Appetit is arguably the best overall restaurant that I have ever been to though I yet to try The Black Pearl up the street or Ocean Prime in Tampa. Jackson’s Bistro is a close second. Liz and I went for their Saturday night Valentine’s dinner. we could select from 5 different entrees. I chose the filet mignon and Liz ordered the lobster tail. Liz started with a delicious chocolate martini served with a biscotti stick $ 8.50 and I had a Jack and coke $ 8. we had a shared appetizer of lump crab with a tasty dressing in a martini glass $ 18 ala carte. next was a mixed salad with house dressing. very good. dressing was already in the salad. then our entrees of filet and lobster arrived $ 65 each. my medium cooked prime cut appeared to be about 8 ounces and it just melted in my mouth with a minimum of chewing. it was so tender I probably could have used my fork to cut it. it came with shitake sliced mushroom and fried sweet potato. Liz’s lobster tail was succulent, sweet and flavorful. major delicious! she had the same sides. lastly we had chocolate mousse topped with whipped sweet cream. perfect. a piano played in the background and the performer came to our table and played our request, Billy Joel’s Just The Way You Are. it’s appropriate because i’m 5’4 and Liz is 5’11 and over 6′ in heels. Scott was our server and he waited on us in the EUROPEANSTYLE which I prefer at an upscale restaurant. that is he HOVEREDNEARBY keeping an eye out if he was needed. he wasn’t. he never interrupted our conversation, the biggest sin a server can do is interrupt two people in deep convo. I remember back home in Youngstown, Ohio I took a date to Oscar’s the supposedly best place in town. our male server interrupted us FOUR times while we were discussing the war in Afghanistan. i tipped one dollar. I complained to the manager about the problem and the next time I came that same server had the balls to come up to me and say, «I hear you don’t like me.» I replied, «No, I don’t dislike you, I dislike your interrupting me while we are talking. you need better training.» with that we walked out. about 3 months later Oscar’s went out of business. total bill at Bön Appetit’ was $ 176 including tax. I tipped Scott $ 32 for $ 208. a great romantic night.

The steak was lovely and of course the service was perfect. I do wish that the food presentation was nicer. It’s good, consistent.

Four of us ate here on a Saturday evening with a 7:00 reservation. I would highly recommend reservations, the restaurant was very crowded. Our server, Stuart, was excellent and had a great sense of humor. The entrees we ordered were the pan seared salmon, filet three course special, chicken three course special, and the grouper medallions. We had drinks before dinner, salads and I had a half dozen oysters on the half shell. Our meals were great, the service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the live piano music.

As a vegan, I was a little nervous on the way to this restaurant for a family lunch and wondered what I would be able to order, without peppering the waiter with awkward«can this be made vegan» and«what’s in this dish» questions then resorting to french fries as the only option. Thankfully, there was a vegetarian gumbo offering(which the waiter confirmed with the kitchen as vegan) and a house salad. The gumbo was surprisingly good but it’s offered as an appetizer, so if you go this route, it’s best to order two. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to this restaurant on my own, but would go again with a group of people.

The food was good. We had lamp chops and lamb shank and BBQ Salmon salad. Spinach and kale salad is to die for. Fresh and delightful. Bloody Mary’s were right on. Seating system sucks.

Nice classic restaurant on the water. A Strange mix however with the outdoor casual bar and the restaurant inside which is somewhat formal. Had a bit of dueling music with a live guitar player outside singing mostly Jimmy Buffett type music while inside you had classic piano. The food is simple but well done and nice flavors. The service is very professional and well performed.

This year was the first time going out for Thanksgiving, so my boyfriend and I decided to find a place with a great menu and scenery. We choose this lovely place. We pulled up and the restaurant is right on the water. We had reservations, the two hostess seemed quite stressed, but we’re willing to seat us early. We went to the outside bar, which was nice. The food and service was great!!! I was impressed. We had a 4 course meal for $ 65 per person. The butternut squash bisque was wonderful. I ordered the traditional turkey, which was delicious! We were stuffed afterwards. I will probably suggest this place again next year.

First time the GF and I dined in Dunedin and have heard so much about the restaurants out there so decided to Unilocal a few. Bön Appetit stood out the most and has some amazing waterfront views so made a reservation for sunset time. Unfortunately its hard getting ready with 2 kids before the babysitter gets there so had to push it out to 8pm. We live out in Odessa but never mind traveling for a good meal and nice restaurant. When we pulled up to Valet there was a small band playing outside so the vibe was immediately nice and made you feel like you were on the water for sure. We were immediately seated inside but the tables were so close to each other we could literally touch the couple next to us. No privacy or intimacy at all if that is what you are looking for so we requested to be outside where the tables looked a little further apart. Out side was nice. Our table had a nice view of the water and there was a nice breeze so was enjoyable. The server didn’t really greet us as expected and was very dull. It was our first time so was expecting some recommendations or explanation of the featured items but the server seemed busy and frantic. We ordered the shrimp and sausage gumbo and scallop appetizers. The gumbo was not gumbo lol. I have had some authentic gumbo and this was nothing close. I think i found 2 pieces of shrimp in it? The scallops were good! They were in a very flavorful mango chutney. Entrees were not bad but definitely not great. I ordered the rack of lamb which was just okay and came with a side of deep fried sweet potato(i think). Almost tasted like desert. My GF ordered the filet medium, of course, and got a medium well and unseasoned steak. Drinks were $ 16 a piece(OVERPRICED). Not bad if you are looking for a gorgeous view and sunset.

It’s kind of pricey to me and the food is just average. The French onion soup was very toasty and hard to cut. The Chef salad was ok but definitely not worth $ 14. It was an experience but I doubt I will ever go back. The view however was amazing.

Stopped here on a whim after spending some time at the beach and I’m glad we did. This restaurant was right on the water and the view is spectacular. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the breeze. I like how outside they have a little secluded seating for two around the corner past the large patio area. I ordered the salmon chickpea salad and it was really good. We also had a side of fries that came with tasty dipping sauces. The fries were just how I like them, crispy and not soggy. Overall it’s a nice place to come for brunch to enjoy the horizon. Server was good too and wasn’t too intervening since we wanted to enjoy this moment alone.

This waterfront restaurant provides a spectacular view of the sunset & a diverse menu with meat & seafood options. There are choices for where you can eat — outside with a more casual menu & outdoor music at times or inside where it’s a more formal setting with white linen tablecloths & an older crowd. Good cocktails & the rolls are always served piping hot with classic butter. Entrees come with a nice size salad. Red snapper was very tasty & my parents enjoyed the filet mignon — which is a very small size but for them it was perfect. Definitely check out the dessert list — a lot to choose from & so very good! The piano player is amazing & will even play Led Zeppelin — how cool is that?!

My Boyfriend and I went to Easter Dinner here last week. Overall we were pleased with this place. There were many options for a prefixed menu, wines and mixed drinks. All the drinks and food we had were beyond amazing and had no issues with any of the food, it was all very well cooked to our liking. The views were great as its right on the water and we sat in a great seat with a water view. It was a bit louder than I would have liked but it was still fine not a huge issue just don’t go here if you are looking for a romantic dinner out. Also the staff was nice but not overly talkative, suggestive(did not make any suggestions) We both wished they were a bit more personal but the service was still great. My biggest pet peeve is asking to have my water glass filled over and over when you clearly see i need water… they were not good about refills on water i had to asks about 4 times. Please work on having this fixed or please provide a pitcher of water for the tables. Its worth a try if your in the area and its great to watch the sunset after dinner too. Enjoy!

Very nice location being on the water in Dunedin Florida. The staff is attentive and friendly but the food is just mediocre but priced as if it’s amazing. $$$. Chefs Salad is way overloaded with vinegar. The burgers are ok, they come with Brie cheese and onions. Make sure you know what you’re getting. The bread is good and the butter is great!: p

What’s the different between 2010 and 2015 at Bön Appetit? Increased price. Americanized menu selection. Declined food quality. Aloof service. From 5 star to 3 star, you know where the trend is heading. In case you would like to know what has not changed. The beautiful waterfront view and the silver hairline are there to stay.

Review of NYE dinner(perfect if you are over 60 or don’t care if you are in a restaurant filled with people over 60). Since my fiancé and I like eating more than we do drinking, I did a search of places that had a prix fixe menu for NYE. Bön Appetit popped up and at $ 54 a meal it was a relatively inexpensive option(most other places were $ 80-$ 200). Honestly, going in I thought it was going to be like how our Valentines day at Rusty Pelican turned out. Fantastic views, but not so good food, but I was willing to give it a shot. We lucked out and got a parking spot on the street right before the restaurant. However, I did see that there was valet. What should have clued us off was there is a chair lift for people who cannot walk up or down the five steps that lead into the dining area. I’ve seen commercials for those for old people. We walked into the dining room and my fiancé burst out laughing. We were easily the youngest people there(not including the servers) by 40 years. It was like being at a funeral, everyone was in black and pearls. I definitely stood out in my sparkly NYE dress.(The lady at the next table actually got my attention in the middle of dinner to tell me she loved my dress.) Unless this was the best dinner I had ever eaten, it would be hard to beat this ambiance. The other thing was at night, you really can’t see the water. I thought now our food has to be good since there really isn’t a view at all. I started with the sangria, but it tasted like seltzer water and I had to send it back. I decided to not chance it and go with the Midnight Kiss, which they were highlighting on the menu. It was basically flavored champagne, that tasted a lot like cough syrup. However, by this point I was just drinking to make this situation funnier.(The same woman who told me she liked my dress also shared that she wasn’t a fan of the Midnight Kiss, but hey, it’s alcohol.) They bring around rolls and butter. I didn’t eat any, but my fiancé said it was delicious. We both got the lobster bisque and I enjoyed the chunks of lobster in it. We both loved the salad. We never figured out what the dressing was, but it was delicious. For the entrée, I got the Chliean Sea Bass. I thought it was good and I liked the sweet coating. My fiancé got the Filet and really enjoyed it. My favorite part of the meal was the sweat potatoes. I think they were mashed and fried in a ball and they were delicious! For dessert we just split a chocolate mousse, because we aren’t really dessert people. I’m a little perplexed at how they made it so thick but tasted so airy. That’s not really a bad thing, but it was weird. So, overall I would say the food was about 4 stars, the drinks were 1 star, and the ambiance was old. However, the food was good enough that I want to come back(during the day to see the water) and see if the clientele is the same.
