The only thing I found disagreeable about this place was due to my own stupidity! I chose one of the hottest days of summer and around noon. Obviously the animals were much smarter than I and were either in their barns or napping. Despite the heat it was clean and no strong odors. My granddaughter is only two so just seeing a cow up close was a thrill to her. Of course she enjoyed the other animals but the cows were actually up at the fence. She would have stayed longer but grandma got a little too warm. I recommend this fun little family outing in comparison to other family spots the price was reasonable.

Randall Oaks Petting Zoo down from 5 stars to 3!:(((What used to be the simplest of pleasures, taking my children, and now my grandchildren, to a great, very affordable, neighborhood petting zoo and park, has this season become far less enjoyable! No more walking inside, paying a few dollars for admission, and purchasing a few bags of animal feed! They now have turned the only entrance/exit into a gift shop! HOWDISSAPOINTING!!! Candy and MANY toys have replaced the $ 2.00 Peacock Feathers!!! Commercialism has come to Dundee Park District and SPOILED a simple pleasure!!! SAD!

We recently took a family trip to the small zoo and had a great time. This was a group of 5 adults and we spent about 2 hours in the zoo. Very nice park to go for an afternoon. We were a bit disappointed to learn that the Bobcat was no longer at the zoo but a worker informed us that they were looking to get some Bobkittens soon!

Haven’t used the park much at Randall Oaks Park, but the petting zoo/barnyard is a fun place to take a kid if you want to kill an hour or so. Cheap to get in — $ 2.75 for adults, $ 2.00 for kids I think. You can buy bags of feed for the animals — those are $.75 per bag(usually need about 5 bags, depending on how generous you are to the animals!). It’s not really a place to spend the whole day, but it’s nice for an afternoon out. They have a couple of playgrounds for the kids, and it’s my understanding they have party pavilions for rent — like at a forest preserve. Easy drive from Chicago — 90 W to Randall Rd. north; go about 5 miles and it will be on the left.
