Not bad… unless youve been spoiled by Breakers. Please do yourself a favor and spend the 7 extra dollars to go there. The food and service so far exceed this place its almost as if you are eating a completely different cuisine. 21 $ for ayce here and 27 $ at breakers. Its a no brainer. This place would be ok if it were around 10 dollars… not 20.

Love this AYCE Korean bbq. The soup included is very tasty. The meats were good as well. The cold bar had lots of pickled dishes to choose from. My fave were the cucumber kim chi and bean sprouts. Tip 1 — kids 3 and under eat free. Tip 2 — wear elastic waisted pants

Delicious. The small rooms are great for being cosy and quiet while dining with friends.

Came here back for lunch in summer of 2014 and so the menu may have changed by now. I came here with a group of 5 people and got our own private room. We did not get the AYCE, but went with the 1lb combination of beef, pork belly, brisket, pork neck, and bulgogi. We heard that Song Do uses a special charcoal to make the bbq meats taste smokey, but we did not taste any smokey flavors during our visit. The meat were all pre-marinated and tasted like normal kbbq meats, but I can’t differentiate between meat qualities. For the price, it’s quite alright. I can’t remember anything about the banchan, so I guess they’re not memorable/special. Service was prompt and there’s plenty of parking outside.

Came here for the first time yesterday night with my best friend and we were impressed! I like how personal this kbbq is. It’s not loud and obnoxious mimicking a dance club with little to no light. this place is bright, no music, and has private rooms with a ventilation system built directly on top of the grill. At first I was worried that this small room was gonna create a lot of smoke and get stuck to my clothes, but no that vent sucked up everything! There’s a bar of korean dishes that’s unlimited and there’s like a ton of sides to choose from! I like the pickled spicy cucumber and the seaweed carrot. There was also this chives sauce with red pepper sprinkles. I didn’t know what it was for, but i basically dipped every brisket and pork chop into that sauce it was awesome! Their salad is kinda tarty. I didn’t like it. I usually like the red pepper seasame oil dressing, but this is some brown watery sauce. My fiancé seemed to have liked it. The soup is soooo good though! So much flavor. Sadly, they bring out just enough for you to share. Hite and Kloud are $ 3 each! I had like 3 beers under $ 10! that’s awesome! not to mention the Kloud is 5% alcohol! Even more awesome! I cannot wait to come back! The button is at the end of the table and works! I believe two ladies were holding the fort down last night. They did wonderful! They delivered and were very responsive!

I believe the food is not sanitary. At the table, there is a sign that says do not cook more food than you can eat. When we were done grilling our meat, our server came back right away, asked if we were done, and the only plate she took back was the plate of meat that we didn’t grill. We have picked through the meat with our chopsticks after our chopsticks have been in our mouths. I would hate to think that they reuse their meat. Also, we got the all you can eat that was suppose to come with short ribs and she brought out some beef and told us it was short ribs, which had no ribs on it, and our sever took forever to come serve us. We didn’t want to get the all you can eat because we don’t eat that much, but our server kept forcing us to get it. I wouldn’t come back here. Food wasn’t bad, but I just wouldn’t come back.

I love how the meats are marinated. very very tasty. I usually get the AYCE silver 24 dollar, it has short ribs and many other variety of beef and pork. Unlimited banchan in buffet style.

First experience here with my brothers and their friend. One of my brother had recommended this place because he personally likes it more than Iron Age. I really like how there were individual small rooms for groups of 4 – 16. We waited to be seated, but the servers or hostess did not seem to notice us, even though there were 4 of us(none of us were Korean). Waiting time was about 10 – 15 minutes then a lady called out to us and walked us to the back small room. We were debating on Ruby($ 20.99) vs Silver($ 24.99) for the all you can eat KBBQ. Apparently the prices went up. We decided to go with the silver. We really should have just gotten the ruby, because we couldn’t really tell which was what. The meats were brought out on a plate(drenched in bloody liquid/marinates) which there were about four meats at a time. Yes, four meats drenched in liquid and probably marinating everything the same flavor as they sit on the plate. We rarely saw our server, because apparently they were either understaffed or really busy, my brother ordered soji which never came out and they had to press the call button several times before the drink arrived. We all had water as drinks and it was never once refilled. It seemed a bit chaotic like the servers had to run around to keep up with their customers. Which was quite disappointing seeing the amount of money we paying for that night. They do have a buffet-style setting for the side dishes, which I really only liked about 3 of the 12 items there. Those three items that I liked were initially running low and it took a very long time until they eventually refilled them. We got there around 6:30pm and left around 8pm. So I’m pretty sure everything should have been properly refilled in a timely manner. As we checked out, the cashier seemed very pushy and rude, not so much to me but I noticed it when she was ringing out several customers after us. We waited for my other brother to use their restroom before we headed back to Florida. Yes, I understand it is rush hour, but I personally did not feel that we were treated well here that night. I would have given a higher rating, but due to poor service and lack of hospitality I believe my rating will stay as it is. Maybe another night(we were there Saturday) and at a different time would be better. Good luck and maybe you’ll have a better experience than we did.

Having been to a few Korean AYCE places(and also being the one that my friends all seem to ask for recommendations) I really liked Song Do. It is in the same strip as Lattea and Mings, but just on the back side facing Cho Won. I picked this place for lunch with an old co-worker and was so glad I did. They have semi-private booths which helped in limiting the noise — great so you dont have to shout over any kpop blasting in over head(ahem Iron Age). Since we were meeting for a weekday lunch, there weren’t too many other customers so the service was readily available whenever we needed her. We decided on the Ruby which I think was about $ 12 – 15 per person. The meat came out all at once on a plate, and I do not think any of them are marinated(at least I didn’t taste any). The best thing for me was their salad bar type banchan area. I really liked this because I am particular to certain banchans(sorry, but no pink picked radish cakes for me please). I was able to load up on only the ones I liked and they were very tasty. The server would walk by every few min or so and peek in to make sure everything was ok, which was nice because we didn’t have to ring the bell for her. She even asked which meats we wanted for our next round which was good because I didn’t even notice that we were almost done with those on the grill. We never felt rushed, even though we actually spent a good 3 hours for lunch catching up! My old co-worker, who had never been to a Korean BBQ was very happy with our selection and the restaurant too.

We got the all you can eat bbq for two. Not the worst, but far from the best. Several parties came in to check the place out and decided to leave. In hindsight, I would have done the same, but I was starving and the eating partner seemed keen on the strip mall joint. Service: Good, but inconsistent and unavailable several times during our meal. Note that it’s probably best if you have a Korean speaker in your group. Quality: It tasted like they made their various self-serve banchan in-house, which I appreciate. I would have appreciated it more though if they all tasted good. Kimchi was ok, the fish cake were tough and inedible to me, but there were korean peppers which I liked(I realize now that the only side dish I mention is raw). Price: For the AYCE, the price was comparable to higher rated places. Not a good deal for the price, but I left full so I guess I can’t really complain. Overall: Meh. I didn’t really enjoy it, but eating partner did so I guess it’s a split review.

Excellent Korean lunch buffet. It’s not the largest. It’s not the most expensive. The décor is not antiquities from the Ancient Three Kingdoms. Song Do is a nice place with good home made dishes or BBQ. We ate there again this past Saturday. We ordered Mackerel from the lunch menu. Wonderful fish. The side dishes are fresh and tasty. There was not a big crowd as we met late for lunch at 1:30pm. Traffic on I-85 slowed us down. We all felt like it was the best meal we had had all week and our friend says he eats there twice a week. Service was great. Our waitress kept the waters full and helped keep the table spruced up by removing excess plates. One of our diners was not a big Korean food fan, but found the rice and soup were acceptable and ate a number of the side dishes. Very good idea to meet there. We will do this again soon.

Not to many people know about this place, but its located in the same plaza as iron age just on the other side. Price wise, its cheaper then any other place for all you can eat korean bbq, they have an unlimited banchan bar aswell. We had a good vareity of marined meat, including brisket, steak, chicken and pork belly and they all were actually very good especially the chicken and the pork belly which was suprising cause i never get chicken in a korean bbq place. As far as service, they really didn’t do much but bring us our meat and drinks and thats about it. It seemed like the lady that seated us, was also the person bringing us our food and everything else. Overall i thought the food and marinaded meats were quite good.

Update 09÷22÷14: Bless me Song Do, for I have sinned. I cheated on you with another K-BBQ place, and it wasn’t nearly as good, and I promise I won’t stray again. Anything I saw as hit-or-miss before, I’d say is a hit compared to some of the other places in the area, particularly a certain restaurant that emphasizes pork belly(not Honey Pig — another one).

Love this place! My family and I had recently visited Atlanta, GA. and stopped by here for some korean BBQ for lunch, it was delicious and the service was great even though our host was a little jumpy(she was probably just busy) but, she was so nice and helpful! The meat was great though the side dishes was okay but that’s okay with me because side dishes aren’t really my thing. I highly recommend this yummy place!

Atmosphere: A typical Korean restaurant with no special interior or decoration. Food: I ordered an AYCE Gold which covers steaks, short ribs, marinated ribs. I love Korean style short rib BBQ, so I was quiet surprised. However, short ribs were too thick(2 inches) and they do not seem to be a real meat from short ribs. One of other reason that I chose Song Do is because they have Soot Bool(Charcoal BBQ), but there charcoals were not in good quality. I couldn’t get a smell of charcoal from meats. Bottom Line: Unless you want to waste $ 25 plus tip, choose other places.

Song Do is another AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant in Duluth. I think the price is pretty worth it if you like marinated meats. The meat quality is pretty good here. I’m not really a fan of marinated meats, so since all the meat here is marinated, it’s not my first choice. If it weren’t for having all marinated meats, I would give it 4 stars. However, they do have a self serve banchan bar, which is different than most of the other Korean BBQs in the area(other than Cho Won). Also, the people who work here are really nice, and do not make you feel bad for asking for more meat.

Song Do BBQ is one of Duluth’s many all-you-can-eat(AYCE) Korean BBQ restaurants. It’s located in a large shopping plaza at the southern end of the intersection of Pleasant Hill Rd. and Satellite Blvd. This is the same shopping plaza with Ming’s BBQ, Lattea, Haru Ichiban, and The Melting Pot. Song Do has three AYCE options. They are(prices per person): 1. «Ruby» — $ 13.99 lunch, $ 14.99 dinner: Pork belly, pork neck, beef brisket, beef bulgogi. 2. «Silver» — $ 17.99 lunch, $ 19.99 dinner: Same meats as Ruby + short ribs(galbi). 3. «Gold — $ 19.99 lunch, $ 21.99 dinner: Same meats as Silver + ribeye steak. All the meats are marinated. IIRC, these prices are comparable to Iron Age. There are $ 9.99AYCE Korean BBQ places nearby such as Gobawoo, Star Daepo, and Sun and Moon Café, but they only serve two kinds of meats with their $ 9.99 plans: pork belly and beef brisket. Also note Sun and Moon Café requires the purchase of alcohol in order to get the $ 9.99 deal($ 14.99 without alcohol). So all in all, Song Do seems like a reasonable deal. A minimum of two orders have to be placed for any of the AYCE meals. There are reduced prices for children under age 10. Apart from the AYCE portion of the menu, you can order all of the above a la carte along with Korean appetizers like seafood pancakes and soups, stews, noodles, and seafood. They have some good lunch and dinner specials for under $ 10. When it comes to Song Do vs. Iron Age, there are a few differences: 1. Song Do is more traditional and Iron Age is more trendy. Song Do has private rooms and booths while Iron Age has creative furniture and tableware and K-pop(Korean pop) videos being projected on big screens. 2. Song Do has a self-serve banchan(Korean side dish) bar. Iron Age does not. 3. Iron Age has a self-serve soft-serve ice cream machine. Song Do does not. As you can probably tell from the above, deciding between Song Do and Iron Age really comes down to atmosphere. If you want a more quiet, relaxing, and low key dining experience, go to Song Do. If you want a younger, more energetic vibe, go to Iron Age. The quality and taste of the meats and the service are about the same at both places. I’d give a slight edge to Song Do on service since it’s less busy and feels more like a family atmosphere. The self-serve banchan bar at Song Do is a great idea. Unfortunately, the actual banchan items are not so good. There are 14 rotating items on the buffet including kimchi, pickled vegetables such as cucumbers and daikon, tofu, dried fish, seaweed, eggplant, and more. The quality varies depending on when you go and how often each item is replenished, but I haven’t had very good experiences with the banchan here. The AYCE Korean BBQ makes up for most of it, though. My favorite meats are the beef brisket, beef bulgogi, and short ribs. The beef brisket and beef bulgogi are similar except the brisket is fattier and the bulgogi is sliced thinner. The short ribs have the best flavor and are served on the bone. The pork neck is OK. It’s served in larger slices and the meat is generally tougher. I’m not a fan of the pork belly at any of these places because it’s just too fatty. I just focus on putting away the shreds of brisket and bulgogi. You cook everything yourself at your table which has its own personal built-in grill and ventilation system. You can eat the meats by themselves, with rice, or make lettuce wraps out of them. Sides that accompany the BBQ include Romaine lettuce, spicy scallion salad(pajori), peeled cloves of raw garlic, a spicy paste(ssamjang), and two dipping sauces(one soy-based and one made from sesame oil and salt and pepper). The lettuce and scallion salad are crisp, fresh, and delicious. Service is good. If you need anything, you can press the button on the table and a server comes to your table/room within a minute or so.(Most Korean restaurants have these convenient server call buttons.) The servers do speak English and the menu is written in both Korean and English. Overall, I like Song Do BBQ. It’s another good option for AYCE Korean BBQ.

The average rating of 3.5 stars is pretty accurate. It’s almost a 4 star establishment, but just not quite. I like how there’s intimate booths with blinds you can lower for more privacy. However, lowering the blinds would just trap the smell even more. The vents are kind of loud, especially when it’s first turned on, but we got used to it. I really like the concept of self-served banchan. There were a lot of banchan to pick from; more than some of the other ayce korean bbq. However, they were not as good quality as some places. I tried almost everything, but I really probably liked less than half the selection. We all got the 14.99 ruby option which included beef neck, brisket, bulgogi, and pork belly. There’s the silver option for 19.99, which includes galbi and a gold option which includes ribeye. These are dinner prices, the lunch prices are cheaper by a dollar or so. At least 2 people have to order from the same option for someone else from your party to order another option. So, if it’s only 2 people eating, and one person wants the ruby option and the other person wants the silver option, you’re bleep out of luck. The bbq includes 3 sauces, a basket of lettuce, a small plate of peeled garlic, seasoned grated scallions, rice and tofu soup in addition to banchan. The tofu soup had a lot of jalapeño in it. The meats were very tasty and I was content with eating it without the sauces. The service was fine. One of our server said«shit!» when she couldn’t start the burner. I thought it was funny hearing it from an older Korean lady. There were attentive enough overall. Like a lot of Korean restaurants, there’s a button you can press for service.

Song Do BBQ. What can I say about this place. It was absolutely AMAZING. It was my first time there. I went with my sister and cousin. My cousin chose this place because he loves it. In my mind the whole time I was hoping it’d feed my appetite considering we got there around 9:30pm for a late dinner. We all got the«all you can eat» for $ 15. They’re stingy on this so everyone at the table has to get it. If not, then they’ll work their way around for you to get something else on the menu like BBQ Combo for 2(but it’s not all you can eat). I guess people usually try to order one«all you can eat» and share with the rest at the table– doesn’t work that way! Well, I enjoyed all the side dishes they had at the«salad bar,» which consisted of various pickled vegetables such as cucumber and kim chi. The meat was worth the taste for the price. I loved the pork and I rarely eat it much. Only con is leaving the place and from head to toe you smell like korean BBQ. So plan accordingly if you’ve got to go somewhere afterwards!

Was wanting Korean b.b.q. for lunch and actually found this place by accident, was looking for another all you can eat place across the street and boy am I happy I stopped in . They have three price points for lunch a $ 9.99, $ 12.99 minimum 2 people, & a $ 16.99. Dinner is only a few $$ more. Decided to go with the $ 9.99 which includes Beef brisket, Bulgolgi, Pork belly and Pork neck . After ordering was told to go to the banchan bar the first time they only had a few selections, there is a mirror behind the banchan giving the illusion it is bigger than it really is(actually tried to walk behind it and ran into a chair hahaha). No biggie I was really there for the meat . The Bulgogi, & Brisket were well seasoned and cook in no time. I found the pork belly to fatty for my taste. The server is very attentive, does not rush and checks on me every few minutes making sure I have everything I need scallions, lettuce leafs & meat. I spent the next hour and a half grilling, filing and wrapping lettuce leaves and happily munching away. I CAN’T TELLYOUHOWHAPPY I WASTHATTHEYLETMECOOKATONEOFTHETABLES ! Most b.b.q. restaurants won’t if your a party of one, they want to cook it in the kitchen then bring it out to you. No Thanks, grilling is part of the experience. Why the place isn’t busier during lunch is beyond me there were only two or three other rooms with people in them the times I’ve been there, the server did say they were busy during dinner. So, go check this place out the service is great, the food is good and for the quality you can’t beat the price . I leave with a satisfied smile on my face & I will sleep well at Je Ju.
