Semi-authentic Hong Kong food. Great beef chow fun, Yung-chow fried rice, scramble egg beef rice. They gotta work on that milk tea though…

Incident 1: called in a take out order with veggies. Hung up and called back to cancel veggies. «Cant cancel. We already made it.» Wow. You made it in 10 seconds? «Yes.» I didnt know magicians work here… Incident 2: called in to order a whole chicken 15 minutes prior. Got there and described my order. She becomes frustrated with my english speaking skills and tells me they no longer have anymore chicken… My goodness. Thanks for wasting my gas and time. Food is decent here but the service is something else.

Good food. Love the roast pork and duck. Crispy skin on both. Yum!!! But service is really bad. There are the same two waitresses there every time. But, again we like the food and pretty low price.

Food: I usually get the soy sauce chicken with vegetables, shrimp wonton soup, or the noodle soup. We have gotten a few other items and they were pretty good too to include the wings(which were a little greasy though) and the salt and pepper squid. Wait time: We went in the afternoon and it was packed and we got seated quickly, but did feel rushed initially by the server. When we went in the evening, it wasn’t as bad and didn’t have such a rushed feeling. Service: I have come to understand that just about all Chinese restaurants are going to have what we consider ‘bad service’ because of the cultural differences in speech and service. They want you in and out of there as fast as possible so it seems rude sometimes. It doesn’t phase me really anymore considering I’m Asian, but it’s true that sometimes you just want to sit down and relax. Parking: It’s in a huge shopping center so parking is not a problem.

Horrible service, food was average, and found a hair on my plate. Usually the duck at least is good but today it was nothing but just edible.

I usually don’t use Unilocal to write reviews but my visit tonight was anything but at the least good. My friends and I came to the plaza for Korean barbque, only to find out the Wait time was over an hour so we came to Mings as a plan b you can say. After arriving we got seated quickly for a table of 5 and got handed our waters. And waited, and waited, and waited, for someone to take our order. A solid half hour before them even noticing us after having to flag them down. Got our order and the food was decently okay for me. However, my friend who got the same thing as me, the fried calamari, looked way older than mine, as if it was fried and left to dry for the next person to order. Mine was okay however. After noticing that we just decided to share our plate. But the part that ruined this place for me. THESERVICE. I don’t know about you, but at late night dinners we like to eat and chat, and the place now closes at 11 now? And after not realizing the time the waiter came up to our table and started telling us to hurry and pay for the food in a very shrill voice. But whenever I go out the people have to wait for the customers to finish even if it’s after hours by a couple minutes. But instead they yell at us. In addition, the buslady started cleaning our table even though we still weren’t done. And just running around our table. Just all in all not a good experience and ruined it. The finale. After finally finishing our meal we went up to pay for our meal which wasn’t that pricy. But here’s the catch my friends decided to tip then out of generosity but after I get my recipt to sign for my payment; after handing it to the cashier she gives me a mean mug and says«no tip?» And«you pay meal and no tip» like. I’m sorry you gave me an attitude and rushed everyone as well as forgot to even take our order and now you’re DEMANDING a tip? A tip is something that come out of my pockets if I decide that you deserve it and did well in your service which they were the complete opposite of. If only this place had better service I would actually want to return.

I would give 0 star if I could. I went to mings bbq around 10:10pm and ordered several dishes including this seafood chow fun. While i was eating the food, i looked at my dish and i saw a FLYONTHEFOOD!!!***** So i called the owner and he told me this fly must gotten into my plate while i was eating. However, there was no way that this fly could gotten on my dish because i scooped from inside of the food and that fly was completely soaked with food. Owner just said«thanks for telling me» and left the table. This place has great food, but if you dont mind eating bugs and horrible customer service, i recommend you to eat here. Oh and by the way he reminded us that he didnt charged for rice. Which was $ 1.00! Lol what a joke.

I have always been a pretty big fan of this place, but I have to admit the quality of the dishes and service has gone down hill in my last few visits and I don’t know why I keep returning… Thinking it will suddenly go back to what I recall enjoying when they first opened. The Cantonese style is full of flavor The giant clams, the BBQ chicken, roast ducks and the seafood dry fun noodles. Only it has all gone down hill and even the sign in the window that reads open until midnight needs to be updated to 10:30. I recall that the servers originally were super nice, but recently they seem very snippy and not very helpful. Rushing me to order and trying to bus the table while my family is still ordering. I am not sure if when they changed the hours if they also switched cooks or what. The meat has been overcooked at times. The dry fun tasted like it was soaked in gallons of soy sauce and when asked to fix it they told me it is how it comes. Having had that many times before I knew it was a mistake only sure enough it was bad the next time when a friend I was with ordered it. I really use to love this place but guess sometimes things change :(

Parking: It’s located in a shopping plaza so there is ample parking available. Service: This is the only downside of this restaurant. The food comes quickly and I am always seated quickly, however the staff isn’t friendly in the traditional sense with smiles and warm greetings. It doesn’t bother me, but for people who come here for the first time it does catch them off guard. Food: I love the food here. Everything I’ve had is consistently good and the portions are a good size. I typically get the BBQ pork and duck rice plate which is great. overall summary: I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants good authentic Chinese food. It’s a good size and well lit. It can get busy around peak hours but the food always comes out fast!

I have grown to really enjoy Ming’s BBQ as well as my family and my friends over the years. Their menu is so expansive and some items are shown in pictures as well for easy ordering. It appeals to the eyes. This place gets packed with patrons so you can see how popular it is. The restaurant is small in size. There are two TVs which Chinese shows playing on each end of the restaurant. There is a display at the back of the restaurant that shows all the different kinds of BBQ that you could order. I never have trouble finding parking as it’s located in a huge shopping center. FOOD: items that I frequently order — SNOWPEALEAVES: seriously my all time favorite vegetable to order. it’s such a simple dish, but has tons of flavor. It has so much flavor with the garlic that is cooked with it. I’m hooked on this item and it’s a must order every time I go, no doubt. — BBQPORK: of all the BBQ items on display, this is my favorite. I especially love the end pieces as they have more flavor and are slightly more crisps in texture, in my opinion. The best thing about having BBQ Pork leftovers is that you can easily make fried rice with this ingredient. I love eating this with the soy sauce that comes with it. — ROASTPORK: the best part about eating this is the crispy golden skin. It gets so addicting. However, don’t get carried away and eat all of the skin. The meat underneath is pretty darn good as well. The meat is not dry like other Chinese restaurants that I’ve had Roast Pork at. I love eating this with the soy sauce that comes with it as well. Lots of flavor with or without sauce. — BEEFCHOWFUN(DRY): It’s so fun to eat these fun noodles(get it, ha?). The noodles have a silky and chewy texture. I think this is a great dish for the picky eaters like children as we ordered this dish a ton for my picky little sisters. There are bean sprouts, green onions, and onions that are cooked with this dish. I like the dry version better than the saucy version of the beef chow fun. You have to mention which dish you would like as they will ask you anyways. — WALNUTSHRIMP: this item is one of those rare items that I do order when I’m really craving this. It’s basically jumbo(de-skinned/de-veined) shrimp that is lightly fried and topped with mayo sauce. They don’t go crazy and heavy with the mayo sauce which is great. The dish is beautifully decorated with the shrimp in the center and surrounded by broccoli. It is also topped with candied walnuts. This is probably the most pricey dish off of their menu. It comes in at $ 16 for maybe like ten to twelve pieces of jumbo shrimp. — SALT&PEPPERSQUID: staple dish to order at Chinese restaurants. If you love calamari, you’ll love this. There’s no dipping sauce. Just lightly breaded and fried chopped squid pieces topped with the salt and pepper mixture to bring enough spice and crunchy-ness with each bite. It comes topped with green bell peppers and onions. — SALT&PEPPERTOFU: the tofu doesn’t really have that much flavor, but love the spice that comes from the salt and pepper topping. I tend to order this item when craving for crispy tofu. The tofu is lightly fried and is airy and light on the inside. It’s not an overwhelming dish. It comes topped with green bell peppers and onions. — BEEFANDSCRAMBLEDEGGOVERRICE: Seriously my childhood favorite items. Very simple dish with a bed of rice, beef, peas, and all topped with an egg sauce mixture that is a little thicker than egg drop soup. I believe they use corn starch to thicken the egg sauce. — CRISPYGARLICCHICKEN: from my most recent visit, I thought this item may have needed more flavor. Definitely didn’t taste any garlic even though I did see minced garlic pieces here and there. The crispy skin was on point though. — TOFU&VEGETABLES: There’s lots of veggies in this dish. Tofu, mushrooms, carrots, snow peas, and gai lan(Chinese veggie) all cooked with this sauce that you could call Chinese gravy. I think the tofu or dish could use a little more flavoring; however, still a healthy dish overall and probably a good dish for vegetarians to order. — HONGKONGSTYLEMILKTEA: Seriously, hands down, the best milk tea you will find in Atlanta. I don’t like boba so I don’t order it with the tea. The drink is ginormous. You can easily share it between two people like we do, but really, who wants to share milk tea?! I love the small ice cubes that they use in the drink. You can chomp away on the ice pieces for all those ice lovers out there. On another note about drinks, they don’t charge you for hot tea. You can either have hot tea or ice water or both. Overall, I always look forward to dining here and I am constantly always craving the food. We try to go at least once or twice a month. The food is so addicting. Another pro to the place is the hours. They have extended opening hours until midnight I believe. The prices are so reasonable from dishes as low as maybe $ 7 to $ 16. We always leave with a ton of leaftovers

I would say this is one of my favorite restaurant around pleasant hill. Food was tasty and inexpensive, I always crave their lobster in a ginger sauce. Since I moved here back in 2015 of January I have dine to this restaurant many times. I’m not sure if it’s just me but on my observation every time I dined here, the waitress were not friendly and takes forever to serve you.

My go-to Chinese place in Atlanta. Honey roasted pork is to die for. Great chow fun and fried rice also. Fair prices. Would recommend. 5⁄5. Other items I heard were good but haven’t tried: crispy roasted pork, duck, noodle soup

UPDATE: The service here is a hit and miss and today was definitely a missed. I ordered Togo since I knew they would close at 11pm and won’t be able to dine in. When I called to place my order, the guy on the phone was very rude and did not understand me at all. I order my usual and still he couldn’t understand that I wanted beef chow fun. After numerous of time of telling him what I want, he just said okay and hung up on me. I was baffle because I thought he would need my name and number but instead he just hung up the phone on me. 20 minutes before they closed, he called me back asking«where are you now?» and I told him I will be there in two minutes because I just got off of exit 104, he interrupted by saying«I don’t care if your off of exit 104 or 401! We’re closing exactly at 1045 and not opening our doors.» I was shocked by the way he talk to me and couldn’t believe that he would say that especially since they have a sign listed that they closed at 11pm. Luckily I got there 40 seconds before ‘they will close the door at 1045′. When I stepped in, they had five tables of people dining in who seem to still be eating their food so I didn’t see what was the issue for me to pick up my food 17 minutes before they close. As I arrive he scream across the restaurant asking if I’m the take out person then during my checkout he asked me what was my race. At this point I was really annoyed by the way he talk to me and rushed me but now he’s asking my race?!? I don’t think I will ever come back to this place after having such a horrible experience. For those who want to try this place or want to take to go, you’ve been warned! 11−15−15: I recently moved more north of Atlanta and randomly found this place for my daily Chinese food fix. My first time eating here I wasn’t «Whoaaaa» at all but I gave it another try since my brother thought the food here was good. My second time around I got beef chow fun and combination congee which was very tasteful.

TL;DR — Good amount of food for the price. I usually come to Ming’s for their honey roasted pork with vegetables over rice. I’ve tried other items on the menu but they tend to be more on saltier and/or greasier end, so I usually stick to the menu mentioned. Although there are some off days with quality, honey roasted pork is usually pretty good. Subtle sweet flavor, juicy meat, and generous amount food for the price. Good for people who are in a rush because food comes out quick.

After a visit to Ming’s BBQ in Asian Square, I wanted to visit this location. For this visit, I ordered a two-meat rice plate with duck and pork. More vegetable were included compared to the other location. The food was consistent in taste with what I had before with the exception of the appearance of the pork skin, which I did not eat, but the meat was good, as well as with the duck. This pork was different from what I had before, it was like the spare ribs I ordered from the other location. When I stated two-meat rice plate, the person taking my order thought I meant two orders of steamed rice. But I clarified by directing attention to the menu item. I was in and out with a short period of time.

I came here for lunch around 4 on a weekday and it was completely empty. A little skeptical if I should still eat here but decided to give it a try anyways. We ordered Hong Kong milk tea –loved it, I could tell it wasn’t from a powdered form. Ovaltine — boyfriend loved it Half a Peking duck with bao — roasted duck with crispy skin. Stir fried duck salad(comes with the Peking duck) — this was made with primarily bean sprouts, it was a good addition but there were chunks of ginger that were over whelming. Seafood chow fun– scallops, shrimp, imitation crab, good flavor a. Beef fried rice– I really like the the fried rice, probably the most out of everything. Service was great, the waitress joked that we had the whole restaurant to ourselves so we should take our time. I would probably come back if I’m in the area to try the many other items on their menu.

We sat down, served hot tea(as we requested). Afterwards, everything else went tragically wrong… 1. We placed our order of 5 dishes and never got our food. We asked for water and bowls and didn’t receive it until another server finally gave it to us. 2. Although we finally got waters and bowls we still never got food. 3. Mind you, 30 minutes had elapsed. When we inquired about our food: One lady we asked said that if we placed our order, then it must be in the back and that they were preparing it. The second lady we asked said that she apologized because she thought we were done eating. Then as we were leaving, the main server that took our order said that she was just about to put in our ticket. I would only recommend a take out. Dining in would be a… tragic experience.

Good olé Ming’s! It’s been in this location for a few years now and continues to bring in customers. Great selection of home cooking Cantonese cuisine. The roasted duck is a must have dish, make sure you asking for the chili oil on the side as well. The rest of the menu would be similar to what you would eat a Cantonese house and it definitely gives you that home cooking vibe. If you’re looking for some authentic Cantonese food, definitely hit up Ming’s! My Recommendations: –Roasted Duck –Fried Tofu –Crab meat and fish maw soup Menu:

Tasty Cantonese stir fry dishes with decent barbecue at an excellent price. The menu includes Chinese barbecue meats(chicken, duck, roast pork), noodle dishes, vegetarian dishes, and assorted stir fry meat and seafood dishes. My friends and I ordered the salt and pepper tofu(also listed as bean curd on the menu), half a roast duck, the Chef’s special garlic chicken, the napa cabbage with garlic and pepper, and the beef with ginger and scallion. Oddly enough, the salt and pepper tofu, which was the vegetarian dish, was my favorite dish. The dish consists of little cubes of perfectly salted fried tofu. It’s mixed with pieces of sauteed vegetables as well. The roast duck was also tasty and well seasoned. Beef with ginger and scallion, which is the equivalent of Mongolian beef in other Chinese restaurants, was delicious. The beef was soft, flavorful, and well marinated. You’ll get a lot of scallions, but not an unreasonable amount. The napa was served in a great sauce. I was slightly disappointed with the garlic chicken. Roasted with crispy skin, I thought the chicken came out a bit dry. I’ll probably try the soy sauce chicken next time. Service speed was slightly slower than other Chinese restaurants, which have a reputation for bringing out food extremely quickly, but it was nothing to be upset about. Total price for the 5 dishes mentioned(with fairly generous portion sizes) was less than $ 50.

I’ve had my eye on Ming’s BBQ for several years. I just never got around to visiting until recently. I knew they had amazing duck meat based on fellow Unilocal reviews but didn’t realize how great their food was until I visited them myself. The restaurant itself is in the Mall Corners shopping center off of Pleasant Hill Rd. Iron Age Korean BBQ is on one end and Ming’s BBQ is on the other. It’s right next to Mac Lab, the macaron café. You can’t miss their restaurant sign because it’s in bright yellow and parking is plentiful. My boyfriend and I visited Ming’s for one reason and one reason only: to try their duck meat. He is a huge fan of duck meat and has been eating it for years at his local Chinese restaurant and I knew that Ming’s would not disappoint. Our server was quite helpful as it was our first time. We ended up getting the whole order of roasted duck. It does not come with rice so plan on paying a couple dollars for a giant bowl of rice. The roasted duck was super DELICIOUS. If you like dark meat, you’ll love duck meat. It tasted fresh and the meat itself was cooked evenly. I’m a fan and have told many friends about it already. Our visit was so successful that I revisited the next day and brought my friends Antony and Angela there to try their duck meat as well! On a side note, I really like that for new comers, they have a menu specifically with photos and coordinating entrée titles so you have a visual. I used my handy dandy Unilocal app. and showed our server photos that fellow Unilocalers posted but the«picture book» style menu also helps tremendously! They thoroughly enjoyed their Peking duck and garlic, chicken and eggplant entrée. The Peking duck comes with boneless, sliced duck meat, the buns to wrap your duck meat in, sliced scallions & jalapenos, rice, and a stir fry dish made of duck meat and bean sprouts. And if you’re a huge fan of eggplant, then I highly recommend you order the garlic, chicken, eggplant dish. The flavor is mild but the eggplant is cooked so well that it tastes super«meaty» and almost reminds you of eating boiled potatoes. On my second trip, I ordered the Honey BBQ pork plate with rice and veggies. My boyfriend and I are HUGE fans of the duck meat here and I’m sure we’ll be visiting again soon enough. If you haven’t tried Ming’s, it’s worth the visit regardless of your location! You won’t be disappointed.
