The first time I tried this place, around December 2014, it was delicious. We came around 4pm-5pm on a weekday so it was very quiet and only about two other tables besides us. The server was very attentive, helped us cook our unlimited meat and even offered to make us kimchi fried rice after we couldn’t finish everything. The second time, around December 2015, was a stark contrast. We came to celebrate my cousin’s graduation from GT around dinnertime and the place was packed. The wait was an hour long. I don’t know if they cut down the portion sizes or raised their prices, but it didn’t seem like that great of a value to get the barbecue. A majority of us ended up ordering from the regular menu. Almost everything on their regular menu was rated spicy! We like spicy, but we knew they meant«Korean» spicy. Three of us ordered the bibimbap just to be safe. The food was still delicious! Our service was still quite good considering the amount of people to which they were attending. I would rate this place 5⁄5 if the value was there, but the food is still great!

I went to honey pigs three times. I got denied service 2 times. This review reflects my all three experience. For, the time i was admitted, we went in with a group of four, and we chose the all you can eat option for around $ 30. I think it was pricy compared to all other Koran bbq. I did not quite like the options I have. We only have belly pork meat with different seasons, some of which don’t quite intrigue the group. For the other 2 times that I was not admitted, the reason were that the buffet option can only be available for the group of two or more and that if I ordered individual item, I have to order at least 2 or more(around 60 total). What if I decide to order wines or rice? It doesn’t count. I find it ridiculous. There is one option for $ 129 with variety of meats(kalbi, prime steak etc). The food does look good and make me curious to try. The service is good. Servers visited us many times to help us grill the meat and make sure the food is not too burned. However, they don’t change the grill. They just clean the grill with lemons, so you will have to grill your meat on 1 griller for the whole meal.

A group of us came to Honey Pig to celebrate a friend’s birthday. They don’t take reservation so if you have a larger group, be sure to come early so they can make arrangements. Most of the tables here seat 4 – 6 with a few larger long tables on the side, so I wouldn’t come with an extremely large group. The unlimited AYCE option is $ 27.99 and comes with brisket, pork belly of all flavors(i.e. plain, curry, spicy, wine, green tea, etc.), large intestines, pork skin, spicy squid, and marinated chicken bulgogi. They also serve you lots of bean sprouts and kimchi on the grill. The unique part of this place is that it utilizes a large circular in the center of the grill(looks like a giant lid) where they don’t change out during the meal. When you order certain meats(like spicy pork), the waiters will wrap them in aluminium foil so that it doesn’t burn on the grill or splash the oils on your skin(because it does!). They also have some interesting pork belly flavors like curry and green tea. As our waiter mentions, green tea is their least popular item on the menu for a reason… It’s not gross, but it literally is pork belly with green tea powder rubbed on the top and that’s how it tastes. Unless you are curious to try, I would definitely recommend you sparing your stomach space for something like brisket. I liked that their brisket seemed good quality(lots of marbles and larger slices than the other places I’ve been to). Lots of people like to end their meal with the fried rice, where the waiters will chop up the left over bean sprouts, kimchi, and meats and add rice and lettuce on the grill to make. I think this normally may be extra charge, but our waiters got it for us on the house — thank you! Overall the food is decent and service was good. The servers here are attentive and come to help you cook(partly because they don’t change out the grill so they will make sure anything that will burn is on a foil and come flip the meat for you from time to time). The only downside is that it can come out to be a pricey meal.

This place failed their health inspection twice this year alone. Service has been always less than mediocre, but for such a popular place to fail the health inspection two times in the first half of 2016 is just ridiculous to me. Get it together!

Love this place. We always order the regular samkyupsal(pork belly.) just couldn’t taste too much difference from their special honey pig pork belly which is $ 19.99 vs this regular pork belly $ 16.99. Perfect combination with kimchee and koang nah muer(bean sprouts.) Finished it off with mixed fried rice($ 2.99 xtra.) Including 20%tip, total $ 46.60 for two. We were the first customers last Saturday at 11:10am til 11:40ish. Kinda felt special. hhh~~ We tried all the Korean bbq in Atlanta including all u can eat. For us, this place is hands down the best!!!

I came to Honey Pig for AYCE during dinner time before and it was ok. I had better. However, I gotta give them credits for having great lunch specials. They have variety of lunch specials from Potato stew to cold noodles. Price is very reasonable and delicious. Portion is huge too! Potato stew 4.5 stars Pork is soft, falls right off from the bone. Soup has a kick to it. Potatoes can cooked a bit longer. Cold Noodles 4 Stars Nice portion with good ingredients. It has 3 sliced pork, shredded cucumbers, spicy radish with buckwheat noodles in cold icy soup broth that has a bit of vinegar acidity taste. Hot stone bi bim bap 4 Stars This is the only entrée that could use more ingredients. Tasty but more veggies or even a fried egg on top would have been better. Overall, I really enjoyed the food. Service was good. I will be back during lunch time more than dinner time.

Parking: Free, and most of the time it’s easy to find parking, but the lot is small so I could see it getting packed at busy times. Service: Good service, nice staff. Food: The food was good, the price was slightly higher than say IA, but it did taste better. overall experience: A

Man, do I love me some Korean BBQ! And Honey Pig’s right up there among the best of the best Duluth has to offer. Last year, I would have given Honey Pig a five star review, but since then, I’ve been to the newest Korean BBQ place in town *cough*Breakers*cough cough*, and been spoiled by it. But four stars is still pretty rad, in my book. I went to Honey Pig a few weeks ago with five of my girlfriends on a Friday night. We got there around 8:30 and although I was afraid we’d be waiting for hours(knowing what these restaurants’ wait lines usually look like on weekends), we were pleasantly surprised to be seated almost immediately. Whereas some restaurants are bright. light, sleek and super-modern looking, Honey Pig takes a different approach: namely, it feels more homey and traditional with lots of darker wood, Korean-inspired décor and a more rustic feel to it. Although the music was a nice mix of EDM DJs and well known pop — I guess whoever had control of the sound system that night had a penchant for it, which I enjoyed a lot. We had Justin as our waiter that night(and he was great — friendly, great at advising us on what we order we should have meats come out, etc.), and we all quickly decided to go for the all you can eat special, which included beef, six different kinds of marinated chicken, pork belly, squid, lots of kimchi and bean sprouts and probably a few other things I can’t remember. We also had a large order of soju, which came out in a cute little teapot instead of the usual glass bottles. Shortly after we ordered the fun started. Justin first brought out thinly sliced steak, then we moved on to pork belly, then garlic-marinated chicken and squid(it was little fishy and no one much cared for that one), more pork belly and curry chicken(that had good flavor), some more chicken and steak and finally the fried rice at the end that soaks up all the good juices and flavor of everything else that’s been cooking. It was a lot of fun and the food was pretty good. The meat wasn’t as good as the newest BBQ restaurant I’ve been to, but for an AYCE of less than $ 30, I was very satisfied by the time we tapped out. As we got our checks, we also got lollipops in the shape of hearts(like the soft serve ice cream they have at some places) to finish off our meal, which was a really nice touch. I enjoyed my green one on the drive home. Overall, Honey Pig was a nice Korean BBQ experience and it was pretty good. Just be prepared(as is usually the case) to come home smelling like BBQ and washing everything from your socks to your hair the next day to get back to normal again. It was fun and the staff was very nice though and we all had a fun time.

SWEETSWINE It is time to enjoy some sweet swine in Atlanta. After working all day we needed to get our Korean on. We had reservations at 10:30pm. We originally had a party of 10 but that number dwindled down to 5. I guess some people can’t hang with us. The waiter was so happy and moved us to a smaller table. He told me, «This will be easier!» I did find the comment a little weird. I wanted to say something weird too like, «Yeah your tip will less too!» I’d personally want a larger table but that’s me. Honey Pig is known for their signature Pig. It is a special pig according to our waiter. It is called Honey Pig Sam-Gyup-Sal(Kurobuta Pork-Honey Pig Signature). He told us that it has a special diet and the color of the pig is black and here I thought all piggies were just pink. Then they marinate it in their secret sauce. The special honey pig was very similar to pork belly. Everything is cooked on the grill in the center of the table. The waiter gets it going but once he leaves you can take over and be the grill master flipping veggies and meat. The pork belly was good but not my favorite. I loved the thinly sliced beef brisket called Cha Dol Bae Gi, Beef Brisket Point. My good friend who is Korean(reason why I’m here) taught me how to roll my own egg roll. I used the bean curd wrapper then added the beef, kimchi and finally the fermented green onion salad. Wow! I could not get enough of these. I had to keep asking the waiter for napkins and he said, «Are you eating with your hands?» And I was like, «Yes!» I was totally getting my Korean on in Atlanta. I’ve worked in South Korea and it cracks me up that they use actual scissors to cut the veggies and meat while cooking. Our waiter broke out the scissors for the long strands of kimchi. It was so cute and reminded me of my trips. Cooking with scissors is a thing. I must mention that the kimchi was really good. I think we got like 3 orders. The sticky rice was fantastic. In my opinion it doesn’t need anything on it. As I was eating I let the juices from the meat and veggie drip on to my rice and it was so good. This place is great for late night eats. The waiter told me that they usually kick out the last customers at 2am. He also told us that they add 50% tip on to there bill. I think he was making a joke or warning us to not over stay our welcome. I will say that our waiter was really good. He was very nice and attentive to all our needs. At the end of the night the owner even came over to our table to make sure we had a great evening. The only reason I point this out is because I’ve been to other Korean restaurants in America and customer service is not their strong suit. This place gets it and I can see why customers want to come back. A few notes. The music they play in here is similar to Korean Idol which is just American Idol with Korean singers. I tried to tune out the music because I found it quite comical. Also when you go for Korean you will have about 20 plates in front of you. You won’t know what over half of the dishes are but you’ll taste them all. Some are good and some are weird but this is what makes eating different foods exciting. So if you are in Atlanta and you’re looking for some fantastic Korean BBQ then Honey Pig is for you. The great food and fun of community sharing is awesome. Everyone in your party can all enjoy in the meal while it is cooking in the center of the table. I can’t wait for my return trip. It will be swine!

Yes this place has a bad rap but they are working hard to fix their reputation. This is a traditional Korean BBQ place. My friends prefer this place because the meats are higher quality and you have tons more choices to pick from: Chicken, Beef Brisket, Pork Skin, Intestine(apparently it’s amazing but they were out that day), Squid, Pork with lots of flavors to choose from: spicy, garlic, green tea, been curd, wine, etc. There is no way you could try them all. There are many Korean BBQ places to pick from on this side of town, they all offer the same idea. I can’t tell a difference in flavor but you usually get about 6 – 8 courses of meat with rice at the end. I’ve learned to pick the place with the culture I like the best, that always varies(some are loud, some prefer banquet tables, some play K Pop all day, etc.). The unlimited is about $ 27.99(per person) or you can get varied meats for just $ 17. Obviously it’s a better idea to pick the unlimited because you will not get full with just 1 meat selection. FYI– everyone must order the same meal option since it’s cooked at your table They will give you seasonings, dipping sauces and wraps to dress your meat with but first you start with a Kimchi soup. Loved this soup, think cucumber & vinegar soup. Refreshing! They start with Kimchi and Sprouts on a circular grill on your table(yes you watch you food cook and get to play with it). Next came the meats we tried the brisket(very good hear, probably the best I’ve had at a korean BBQ), Pork Skin(keep in mind it will be rubbery but I liked it, my dates did not), Squid(it was also very rubbery and spicy, it was ok), spicy pork(it was too spicy for me), green tea pork(very lightly seasoned, good). After this my friends were full so I opted to bring on the rice. I love this part., they put rice on the grill and mix in everything left on the grill, yes! At this point you’re stuffed like on Thanksgiving but who cares. It’s an experience. To drink try the Soju in a teapot, always goes down smooth with this food. Overall this place is a great for date night or hanging with friends. It’s very expensive compared to most Korean BBQ places are in the $ 17 – 22(per person) range. If you want to try other spots try Iron Age or Oh! My SamGyupSal(cheaper, less choices but really who can eat more than 5 meat courses?)

Our usual kbbq place is Breakers and Oh My Samgyupsal, but decided to try here one day. Least favorite Korean bbq place in Duluth area so far. DONOTCONFUSEWITHHONEYPIGCHAININWASHINGTONDCAREA! This restaurant is completely unrelated and food quality is terrible. Meat is old, cheap, and not well stored but they charge a price similar to that of Breakers. We got the AYCE option and regretted every bit of it because we couldn’t chew through the meat they served! Had to spit it out or make myself swallow the chunks. Will not return to this restaurant EVER. Our server was very polite though, so if anything they have that. I would’ve given this place 1 star but I did appreciate the service that was provided. One last thing to note — they have had food safety/health violations due to which they had to shut down for a period of time. We found out only after we had gone to the restaurant.

This place seems to go downhill in quality as more and more Korean BBQ joints open in the area. Honey Pig used to be the mecca of Korean BBQ in Atlanta as it started the trend here, but sadly the quality and business practice is somewhat questionable. I will say service is very good here… very quick and attentive to your needs. Our group stuck with Chadol(beef) and Chicken. The meat was good, but everything gets so messy… the big grill on the table gives little to no room for your personal eating space and the grease and oil gets everywhere. My favorite part of the meal is when they do the friend rice at the end with all the leftover meat on your grill. I normally don’t do Korean BBQ because I have a very sensitive stomach and it gives me very bad stomach gas, lol. After eating here it took a few days for my stomach to recover(as a side note — we did Not do AYCE). Aside from the food, our table was facing into the kitchen. I saw a boy who looked way too young to be doing very hard kitchen labor… I don’t know his situation and maybe he needed the money, but I was very disheartened by this sight. Also check out my pic of their health score. 72!!! This is very low… makes the sanitary practices very questionable! Go to Breakers!!!

Honey Pig is on the pricier side($ 28/person for unlimited) compared to the other unlimited Korean BBQ hot spots, such as Iron Age and Oh! My Samgyupsal($ 18-$ 20), but trust me — you can taste the difference in the quality of the meat that’s served here. My friends and I usually opt for ordering a couple individual servings since we usually can’t eat enough when it comes to ordering unlimited, but definitely go for the unlimited option if you’re with a huge group of hungry people! I’ve only had the samgyupsal here, but there are a number of flavors you can try. Some of the ones I’ve had are wine, garlic, bean paste, and the Honey Pig special(which is apparently better quality meat than the other choices), my favorites being the garlic and bean paste. I went with a party of 4 people and we ordered 4 individual trays(range from $ 18-$ 20 per tray), which was enough to keep us full for a good while. The meat also comes with bean sprouts, kimchi, radishes, salad, and a few sauces, all of which you can ask for refills. The service here is great — someone usually comes over every few minutes to cut and flip the meat so you don’t have to worry about doing it yourself. Sure, you’ll come out feeling like you visited a meat sauna, but it’s so so worth it.

This place is pretty good albeit a little pricey. I went with one person and we were told if we ordered just one portion of meat it would come pre-cooked and we wouldn’t get all the cool stuff you grill at the table. So we ordered 2 meats but they were around $ 19 each(yikes!). You do get a whole head of kimchi, large amount of bean sprouts to grill, and bottomless salad but the rice is not free. They have some other non-grill plates as well. The place is pretty large but a little dark so it feels bar-like. They iron grill is cool but you’ll get spattered with grease just a tad bit. The service was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend trying it at least.

As a Korean food lover from Minnesota, Korean BBQ is something that I usually can only dream of. After starving myself after a day of traveling to ATL, I drooled with anticipation on the car ride straight from the airport with my dad. Naturally I ordered the unlimited option. I only found out after that the price doesn’t include the elusive Galbi or marinated short ribs but I figured the pork belly and brisket would satisfy my carnivorous desires. The server gave us plenty of kimchi that was cooked on the stove as well, which was positioned to soak in the tasty meat juice. The meat quality was solid, with just enough fat to keep things tender and the kimchi was a good level of sour. They provided the usual soy bean sauce, some chili sauce, and seasoning salt, which kept things interesting. The service was pretty decent as well. The waiter was relatively attentive though I think because we were seated in the corner, it took him longer to get to us, forcing us to attempt to grill. For the cons: it was a hot summer day and there didn’t seem to be any form of air conditioning. Also, I noticed our plastic bottle that our water came in was deformed, likely from the hear. I hope I didn’t drink plastic! Finally, the price was a little higher than I would have liked, given that the selection of meat was more limited than I wanted. Overall though, it was a solid Korean BBQ experience. I knew that because I left the restaurant ready to go into a food coma and never wanting to eat meat again.

There’s a big hype of All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ. Therefore, there was a long line in front of the restaurant. Luckily, we beat the crowd by going there in 7pm. You have 3 options in Honey Pig: 1 Order whatever you want by dish and pay for every dish; 2. Order Combination A or B; 3 The unlimited combo, but the catch is you can’t order every kind of meat. Last time, we chose option 1 and ordered several dishes, but we left not full… A lesson learned. This time, we ordered the unlimited combo for 4 persons. The K-pop music was so loud, that we needed to shout to each other to have a conversation. But magically, we ended up with good conversations, and forgot to order every kind of meat. Every meat we tried was of high quality, and we totally enjoyed it. What a pity to forget green tea and wine(?). They put kimchi and bean sprouts to the round grill first, then all kinds of meat. My friends who eat veggies a lot seemed to love them. I, as a carnivore, loved their meats. Brisket was thinly sliced, yet just a warm-up. The Sam-Gyum-Sal was just the right portion of fat and lean meat! The idea of putting pork skin on the grill is also genius. Chicken bulgogi was sweet in every bite, and squid was my favorite, even though the spiciness was hard to handle(BEAWARE!). It was almost summer time, but they did not turn the A/C to a cool degree. The same thing happened last time. 20% tips are automatically added. All the little things wiped off one star.

I try to save my 5 stars but this place was amazing. Now I know there are plenty of Korean BBQ places to pick from on Buford Hwy, but I can tell this place is different. They have a pretty cool vibe/atmosphere. First they cap the actual grill so everything the juices run down the side and inside so they don’t splash you. I tried 3 different meats — of course the pork belly. I loved the unlimited kimchi and sprouts. I think I may have asked for additional kimchi twice. They do bring out a sort of rice paper for wraps, but much preferred making them out of lettuce. Also love the cold soup you get to start. Think of getting to have a thousand spicy meat lettuce rolls — in a way that sounds better than how I just described it. Finally the service was killer, I think I went to flip a piece of meat once and before I could even get to it the waiter was right there taking care of everything for us. Even if you have another favorite spot Id recommend you give honey pig a try.
