I need an intervention, came three times in ten days! Took my son there yesterday. The number three was awesome! Their Fat Crab sauce(medium heat) did the trick. You have to try this place, you won’t be disappointed. Great customer service!

I’ve never had seafood this good for this low price. Ever. I brought my teen daughter and ten year old son. Daughter(who can eat) and I decided to share a pound of clams and a pound of crab legs in the Fat Crab Sauce. Wow! It was $ 10 for the clams and $ 16 for the crab, with potatoes and corn, and we both left stuffed. My son got chicken fingers and fries, whatever, they were fine, but the seafood was fantastic. I want to live in a vat of that Fat Crab sauce. So good! And the grand total, with soft drinks and a nice tip, was $ 43. I have no idea how this place can offer such good food at such a low price, but you can bet I will be back soon. Wow!

This place is pretty authentic tasting! If you’re in the mood for cajun or boiled/fried seafood this is the place to go. Originally Crawfish Shack in Buford, Hwy would be the place to go but unfortunately they get really busy and quality is hit or miss. I feel like the value for what you get here is just a tad better and the place is bigger. Fat Crab special is very delectable and great for sharing. Snowcrab legs, andouille sausages, corn on the cobb, shrimp, mussels all amazingly seasoned and cooked. They just do cajun right that’s all there is to say. Lastly they provide bibs and plastic gloves so once your food comes out you can dig right in without worrying about making a mess of yourself!

I have introduced many friends there and they all liked the food. This week, I visited this place again with other friends most of whom never been there before. The food was as great as before. But the service pulled down my score this time. Though the server was very nice and helpful on providing the tools, which we did not have for the last time. But we had issues when we wanted to split our bills in the end. We wanted to split all the entries we had equally(5 guys), and adding two drinks seperately to two of them. I thought this was quite common practice in all other restaurants. However, we spent over 10 mins just waiting for the checks. They told us their system can not split the bills since we ordered to $ 30 combo, which I thought was weird. After the long waiting time, though they managed to split the bill equally, they still did it in the wrong way by splitting the bills of the drinks to everyone. Hmm, I do not think this is a big issue though. But since I really love the food here, I hope the service can be improved when I visit it next time.

I had some time to visit Fat Crab twice on my recent visit to Atlanta/Duluth. I am normally not a fan of seafood(besides sushi) but Fat Crab has opened an entire new food category to my dining out endeavours! I make an effort to visit whenever I am in town. Each visit(total of 6, as of this writing), within the short time this restaurant has been open, has been a delightful tasteful treat. Spices, Cajun, and that Fat Crab sauce! I personally have loved the shrimp poboy, gumbo, and the boils. I have now ventured into the NOLA shrimp and lobster poboy… all have been amazing! The seafood is fresh and tasty. My only regret is some of the items are seasonal and the lobster roll is only available on Saturday(get there early!). Service is speedy and dine-in is nice in the new venue. I had a chance to speak with the owner and he truly is passionate about fresh seafood and creating a great overall customer experience.

My friend said it was her cheat meal for that day, and she had contemplated Fat Crab. My sister said it was pretty A-OK when she went. After not that many other options, she was wiling to spend her cheat meal on a Fat Crab. First glance, it’s clean and nice. It’s a small little place that wasn’t busy on a Sunday night. It’s surrounded by many TV’s that showed all the games that happened to be happening that night. The waiter was nice and friendly but didn’t speak too much. A lot of us were very sad to find that the lobster roll wasn’t available on Sunday and only on Saturdays. So we settled on the oyster po-boy. Other’s at the table got a(cat)fish po-boy and a(cat)fish seafood basket. I only say(cat)fish because the menu never specifies what fish it is. They all came with fries which were good and not over seasoned. The only problem with our food was the sauce on the po-boys. The remoulade was so sour and acidic. My sister said it hurt her mouth with the slight cut she had on her lip. It ruined the rest of the sandwich almost. The first bites were good but as it progressed, the acidity was just too much and it masked all the other flavors of the sandwich. My fried oyster nuggets were invisible to that remoulade. I might just come back here perhaps on a Saturday to try that lobster roll that looks so good, and maybe just ask for a seafood basket or the remoulade on the side.

I really wanted to fall in love with this place because it’s so close to me and seafood always hits the spot. To start off, this place is extremely clean and not sticky. The floors were so clean, you’d notice them. I almost slipped a bit cause the floors were almost too spotless lol. Waiters are very friendly. A bunch of tvs playing games. When we walked in, we easily sat down as a group of 6. Something we were upset about is that they only serve the lobster roll on Saturdays and we went Sunday night. Four of us had the oyster po boy, one catfish po boy, and one seafood basket. All our orders came with cajun fries and those were go-od! The fried oysters themselves were just meh, but I really liked the sauce of the po boy. But I was the only one. Everyone else found it to be too acidic. Fried fish was delicious though. I feel like I’d come here again and try the lobster roll or shrimp po boy or something because I liked this place for the most part.

BESTCAJUNINTOWN! Go there all the time! I always get the snow crab with the special fat crab sauce. Sometimes I get the gumbo which is also delicious. PROTIP! If you get a boil with one of the sauces, take the leftover sauce home to put over pasta or to make a dip with it. Just ask for a little container for it!(Plus its no waste :)!)

The fat crab special sauce is the bomb! We ordered blue crabs, shrimp, and clams and got them all in that sauce. Definitely made the right choice. The charbroiled oysters were also good. They are a bit on the salty side, so you must eat them with the toasts that come with them. I was disappointed that they were«out of» female crabs. A few people mentioned the gumbo in their reviews so I tried it too. I thought it was just okay. It arrived warm and there wasn’t much in it besides rice and a few small pieces of shrimp. The wait staff is friendly but very forgetful. If you like seafood, definitely come try this place. I’ll come back again for crawfish when it’s in season.

WOW, I am truly speechless after my delicious meals at Fat Crab. I’m honestly somewhat conflicted writing this Unilocal review because on one hand, I want to keep this duluth gem as a secret to myself… on the other, I want the restaurant to do well by spreading the word! I’ve eaten here three times within the past week alone and would undoubtedly eat here everyday if I lived closer! In addition to the clean interior and friendly servers, the chill atmosphere is enhanced by the multiple TVs they have readily available – always a plus in my book! Anyway, onto the amazing food! My initial dining experience was with family and we ordered the #3 combo boil, which came with an assortment of snow crab, shrimp, mussels, andouille sausage, potatoes, and corn – all covered in the out-of-this-world fatcrab special sauce! Once our food arrived, we were in seafood heaven… every single person was blown away by the fresh and high-quality seafood! Further, we also ordered the shrimp poboy and it was truly a majestic sight to behold: fresh toasted bread, an amazing remoulade sauce, and stuffed w/succulent shrimp covered in a secret home-made breading! The generous portion of fries were also crispy and well-seasoned – a wonderful complement to the sandwich. Needlesstosay, all the food disappeared within a matter of minutes — a testament to how delicious all the food was! Another time at Fat Crab, I went with friends who were craving seafood… which was perfect for me considering I had fallen in love w/Fat Crab! Finally, a Viet-Cajun seafood restaurant that I can confidently show my friends! Once again, the portions were generous, service was friendly/prompt, and we had plenty of variety – in addition to the boils, we ordered baskets of shrimp, catfish, and wings. We even ordered the charbroiled oysters covered in their secret butter sauce. Unsurprisingly, every single dish we ordered was exploding with flavor, fresh, and delicious! I could go on and on but ultimately, if you have seafood-loving friends that you want to impress, take them here… you will not be disappointed! The chef is truly passionate about the food he is serving at the Fat Crab and his attention to detail shows in how consistently amazing the food is! I will definitely be back!

They are good! Service was good! Food came out fast, and it was good. I had the Nola Shrimp(I think that was the name of the dish) I saw lots of folks eating the crab legs. I will try that next time I visit and yes it will be a next time. Only thing I didn’t like was the white rice with the Nola shrimp. It was just plain white rice. I also tried the Shrimp Po boy and it was good. Go try and enjoy.

I dined here for dinner a couple of months ago with a girlfriend. We dined on a Tuesday evening around 7ish and they weren’t too busy but the place did get busier as the night progressed. We wanted to try the crawfish/shrimp boil but they didn’t have any crawfish since it isn’t in season. Apparently they only serve crawfish when it’s in season? That was fine with us because we were told that we could substitute the crawfish with something else and pay the difference. We decided to get snow crab and shrimp with the fat crab special sauce in medium. The sauce was good and medium was a good amount of spicy. The boil comes with a few pieces of sausage and a few corn on the cob. The corn was ok but I found the sausage to be a little dried out. Our server was nice and attentive without being overbearing. I’ll be back.

It’s a great place to go for a fun date(if you don’t mind being kinda stinky and messy together), girls night out, or a family outing. Love the service, spacious booths, flavorful food, and affordable prices. Definitely coming back. Ladies, tie your hair back so you can go all out.

Every Sunday, my boo-thang and I travel to different parts of the ATL metro to stuff our faces with several pounds of King Crab, crawfish, and shrimp. We enjoy our feast while we watch our beloved Minnesota Vikings either pummel their opponents or somehow lose in the fourth quarter. Being a fan is tough. I know. We called and asked if they had the game on there — since the pictures look like a sports bar — and Michael on the phone said they did. So, we took a nice 35 minute drive, and when we arrived they said they didn’t have it. Luckily, the food is pretty great there, even to go. ***** I. FOOD Like all seafood boil joints, they have crawfish, crab, and shrimp.(They don’t have crawfish in the late fall, BTW.) We ordered the Fat Crab Special and a shrimp po’boy. *Crab & Shrimp: Plenty of butter with a good kick of Cajun spice, which made the crab, shrimp, potatoes and corn immersed in this magical sauce absolutely tasty. I think it could’ve used some garlic and more seasoning, though. *Shrimp Po’Boy: The have the absolute best shrimp po’boy, yo. While the bun wasn’t anything special, the spicy mayo sauce they used tasted wonderful and they fried the shrimps very well. I would drive up there, just to get another. II. SERVICE We got our food to go, and luckily the food tasted great enough for me to forgive Michael.(Haha.) But for real, the young, nice teenagers or college kids didn’t mean no harm and the food came out fast. They just messed up my afternoon football. III. ATMOSPHERE/DÉCOR It’s a seafood sports bar. Plenty of tables exist for small groups, and TVs hang almost all-around the room. They don’t have NFL Sunday Ticket, though. Lol. IV. PRICES Everything was around $ 40. Pretty cheap. V. OVERALL If I lived in Duluth, I would probably visit Fat Crab’s often. It’s one of my favorite seafood joints in the ATL metro, thus far.

This probably my favorite spot to eat. I eat here almost everyday of the week. So actually it is no doubt my favorite place to eat. The food is just phenomenal! If you know what good seafood is supposed to taste like, or want to learn what good food taste like this is the place to be. It’s inexpensive, and worth every penny. I always get a gumbo cup or bowl, 1lb snow crab and shrimp. Let’s start with the amazing taste of the gumbo, it’s out of this world. It’s hard to find good gumbo outside of Louisiana. But this place is the one to try! They throw a little crab meat in there, shrimp, andouille sausage, with some veggies. It’s delicious!!! When I get the snow crab and shrimp boil, my choice of sauce to be tossed in is the fat crab special. It’s a garlic butter taste with a spicy kick to it! I also recommend Asian Cajun, super good as well, that’s more of a sweet taste. The service is wonderful, the manager makes sure you’re enjoying everything and really cares about you and your honest opinions on the food. They also offer lobster rolls on Saturday only. GETTHEREEARLY! They sell out super quick!

We wandered into Fat Crab while looking for chicken wings to eat(it was chicken wing day!) I was with a party of six, and we decided to order a little bit of everything. To start we got lemon pepper wings, buffalo wings, raw oysters, and calamari. It was all top-notch and expertly flavored. Being originally from New Orleans my expectations for Cajun seafood are high — but Fat Crab was rolling strong. We were thrilled and excited to get the next wave of food. Main course: a giant bowl of shrimp, blue crab, snow crab, mussels, corn, potatoes and andouille sausage. Three words: SOMUCHBUTTER. We got the«Fat Crab» flavoring which was Old Bay, butter, and a mix of other spices. Basically a seafood spiritual experience. We all ate until we were overly full because we didn’t want to leave any behind! One person at our table also got the Cajun Dog, which was a grilled andouille sausage with blackened shrimp and aioli in a bun. Insane. I did not try it but I’m confident it was every bit as good as everything else. On top of all this, our server was incredible. She refilled our cups before we even finished them, brought us everything we needed, and was super sweet and helpful. I cannot wait to come back here. They do what I miss from home just right!

The service was excellent. We got fat crab combo boil #2. The shrimp was good. But we came here mainly for their crawfish… which was way too disappointed. So sad, i dont often give 2 stars rating but our crawfish was bland without flavor and the meat in the crawfish had a weird taste. Maybe we were just unlucky and it was a bad patch. Hopefully their food will be improved since they arr relatively new. we might come back and update our reviews.

Fat crab is located in the plaza behind Taco Mac and next to Planet fitness. You can access it via PIB or Pleasant hill road. There are multiple entrances. I went with a friend for lunch, and there was literally nobody inside at 1pm on a weekday. The restaurant has only been open for two months, so maybe it’s busier during dinner. Gumbo– I like thick gumbo. This wasn’t as thick as I’m used to, but it was decent. There was something missing flavor-wise. Maybe needed some heat or more seasoning. Shrimp and corn chowder– I always think of chowders being thick, and this was even thinner than the gumbo. It was very thin which I didn’t like. Flavors were good though. Shrimp Po Boy– The po boys that I’m familiar with are packed with fried seafood. This po boy didn’t have that much shrimp, and they were small. They could use the same amount of shrimp, but at least use big shrimp! These were small and not like the jumbo shrimp you usually get in a po boy. The batter on the shrimp was well-seasoned. The remoulade was spot-on, but I prefer the bread to be slightly more toasted on the outside. It comes topped with some greens and tomatoes along with butter on the baguette. Crawfish– We opted for the medium fat crab special sauce. I love spicy food, so medium definitely didn’t do much. It was barely spicy for me. I liked the sauce, but the crawfish weren’t that big. I’d say medium sized. I’m glad they threw in two corn and two potatoes for just 1 lb since we were sharing. Overall, I feel like the food is decent, but it’s missing a little something taste-wise. The crawfish prices are normal to me, but the po boy does not seem worth $ 13. Service was good. She was friendly, but at times I couldn’t hear her because she spoke so soft. I think I’ll come back to try their different sauces for their seafood boils.

If you’re in the mood for some excellent Cajun-style seafood, these guys have it. We ordered the #3 Boil and a bowl of the gumbo. The gumbo was excellent and I can already imagine having a hot bowl on a cold winter afternoon. Great flavor and spiced just right. The #3 Boil was excellent as well. We had four hungry adults and we honestly had plenty to feed us all. We had the boil done in the mild Fat Crab house sauce and it was very good. I also got some of the hot sauce for dipping. That hot sauce was good and not too hot although there was a little«kick» after a few minutes. All-in-all, we had a great lunch. The service was excellent. AL, our waiter, took good care of us.
