Yup, best bbq for sure. The bbq pork has the nice crisp skin and the sauce from their duck is just liked Hong Kong. 5* it’s a bit pricey asking $ 10 for 2 items plate rice. Sorry to know they have single out by health dept on roaches. While getting clean is one thing, when you see one roaches, there are thousands of them in this supermarket. All other restaurants next to them will have the same problem.

You can find Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine at 2300 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth, GA30096 in the Great Wall Supermarket about a block west of Satellite Blvd where it crosses Pleasant Hill Rd. This is the market directly across from Sweet Hut Bakery. When you walk into the supermarket its along the food court to the left, all the way in back — look for tall black letters«CANTONESECUISINE.» I met with a group of friends for a lunch UYE at the Great Wall Supermarket hosted by Tuong Vi P( ) — basically about a dozen of us sampled various treats from one of about 5 – 6 restaurants in the food court. This food court specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine so you’ll see variations of dumplings, saucy dishes, pork belly and Chinese BBQ. The Saturday was extremely busy with a full market and full food court — it took some time to gather together the many tables we needed and people kept coming to join our group. Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine focuses on Chinese BBQ with several samples hanging from the display window. The menu offers many items, some I’m not very familiar with but the sections for Congee and Noodle Soup had the most options. I decided to try something a bit different so after studying the menu order the soup dumplings(one of my favorites) alone with the roasted duck. I stood in line for about 15 minutes as it was quite busy. Together these two took about 20 minutes to come to me with each dishes being delivered at different times. The woman behind the counter was a bit off-putting as I think she had some difficulty communicating with me — the next time I’ll make sure I have someone with me that can translate a bit — not blaming her but anything beyond pointing at menu line items seemed to be a bit beyond what she could accommodate. The duck I thought was OK but I prefer the roasted duck you can find at Bo Bo Garden in Buford Hwy — the consistency was similar but the sauces at Bo Bo gives it more flavor — what I received at Best BBQ was just served on rice. The soup dumplings were delicious with a strong shrimp flavor — the broth was also quite good and not overly salty. I’m no expert in Chinese food, unfortunately growing up in the US offered up mostly the schwag Chinese food found in the likes of restaurants with names like«Golden Buddha» — you know what I mean, however I believe the flavors found in this mall are very authentic. This place is located in the Great Wall Supermarket food court. However, this food court isn’t ratchet like most. There’s plenty to choose from and today, I chose to eat the braised beef and vegetables over rice. This came with a clear pea broth and one vegetable, lol. So, I learned that some Asians love fat with their beef. Not ya girl. So I picked around the tender pieces as best as I could with a spoon(yea, a spoon. That’s what they gave me and I didn’t want to get up again). The meal was $ 9 so budget-friendly. It was also a bit bland so that’s good for my calories, right? There’s plenty to try here so go and see for yourself.

I was recommended Best BBQ Cantonese from a friend who said I HAD to try out their Beef Chow fun dish. Since I don’t get told often that I HAVETO try a dish, I made quick stop in. Best BBQ is located in Great Wall, a decent sized super market near the Pleasant hill sweet hut, and will be the last restaurant in the food court(it’s the one with the hanging ducks), which on many days(especially on the weekends) is a bustling and VERY busy food court where seats are hard to come by. While BBQ is in their name, I decided to go with the recommended Beef Chow Fun(just over $ 10). The Beef Chow Fun, a flat rice noodle dish, was a very generous size that you can easily get a couple of meals out of. The Beef, in the Beef Chow Fun dish are grilled, sliced and pretty tender. The only complaint is the dish overall is kinda greasy, so watch out for that. I really enjoyed Best BBQ Cantonese and definitely recommend it if you’re finding yourself in the food court here.

Sad day that Best BBQ has an average Unilocal rating of 3.5. I would have thought it would be a 4. Shame on you for giving the Best BBQ a non-best rating! Located in the Great Wall Supermarket food court, Best BBQ has some legit Canto cuisine. From tasty roasted BBQ duck, pork and chicken to heartwarming dim sum and traditional Cantonese dishes, anything you order just can’t disappoint. My friends and I came on a Thursday night around 8:15pm. The food court has mostly cleared up, as most shops close between 8 and 9pm. Since Best BBQ was still open, there was little decision to be made. I have had a bad experience ordering 梅根扣肉 at another food stall here, but I wanted to give the food court another chance. I ended up ordering the pork belly with pickled vegetables once more in hopes of a redeeming entrée. My friends ordered other tasty Cantonese dishes so I could offset my order with other options, family style. The Japanese tofu was DELISH — hands down best entrée we ordered. The Singapore noodles weren’t bad — I’ve definitely had worse. Duck is on point, although since my friend ordered it to go, they didn’t give him the duck hot. Mapo tofu is solid — but carried a bigger kick than expected. Definitely not for the faint of heart — this is real spicy, but in a good way! My pork belly dish was still kind of a let down. The time I ordered it at Humble House was way worse. This entrée had drier pork belly, but at least the pickled vegetable added value to the dish rather than took away from it. It was probably my least favorite dish compared to our other orders, but it wasn’t a bad dish. I probably wouldn’t order it again, though. If you’re looking for something cheap and quick and wanting to change it up from Ming’s or a dim sum restaurant, Best BBQ definitely has something for you.

I had some pretty high expectations coming to this place so that may skew this review. Here’s what our experience was. Roast Meats: They were out of almost everything on a Saturday night at 7pm. When you consider the volume of people still eating there at that time I was shocked. They did have crispy duck but I expected much better given what I was seeing in reviews. Sad times. Come early or you will miss the meats(out of BBQ meat at a BBQ joint?) Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice: FINALLY. F*(&INGFINALLY! I have found this dish done right in the ATL. It’s not the best version of it I’ve had(not enough salted fish) but it comes close enough to what I expect that the craving is bye bye. This right here carried the whole experience. To be fair, they may have given me less salted fish than they’d give those who seem to be of the appropriate ethnic group. I did get a weird stare when I ordered this, like I didn’t know what I was doing and it must have been a mistake. Still, it was damn tasty. Service: Not that it really matters here since it’s a counter service kind of thing but the staff was on the rude side, seemed upset when I had the balls to ask if they had certain meats. You know, the ones listed on their menu. Looked at me funny when I ordered the Salted Fish and Chicken fried rice and barked my total at me. So you know, your usual service at these places. Ambiance: It’s in an Asian supermarket in an old target which they did so little to change that you can almost still see where the different sections of the target used to be. Ambiance is shit, but in the best way. Overall, if their meats are there next time I’m sure the rating will go up, I just can’t give more than 3 stars if your a BBQ place that’s out of BBQ meats…

This is more of a 3.49 rating. This vendor is located towards the other end of the food court from the Great Wall supermarket entrance. We queued in a long line to put in our order, but most ppl here are either local or know what they want right away because it went by fairly quickly before we could even finish making up our minds. The roast meat menu is placed over the counter but their dim sum menu can only be viewed when you’re at the counter so it’s helpful to have another person go up to look at it ahead of time. Here’s what we ordered: From the Dim sum menu: –Chive dumpling: was the only dish to come out hot and tasted well seasoned. Very good, would get again. –Cheong fun with shrimp filling(rice noodles): Came out lukewarm, was kinda just okay; wouldn’t get again. From the roast meat menu: –Roasted duck(quarter): This was what excited my bf the most because he’s had great past experiences with this dish from other Chinese eateries. But he was sorely disappointed with this one. First, it did not come with rice which he thought would be standard. Second, the flavor itself was good but it is served cold. Finally, the meaty parts were kind of tough and there was a lot more fat than he is used to. I think I would only go back to try more dim sum items but it seems to feel that there will always be a hit or miss experience at this place.

Best BBQ is a Hong Kong style Chinese BBQ food court stall located inside the Great Wall Supermarket in Duluth. This place is great. The name of the business is appropriate because it indeed is one of the best places in metro Atlanta to get Cantonese roasted meats. Hong Kong BBQ inside Chamblee’s Chinatown Mall food court and Big Wong BBQ inside Hong Kong Supermarket’s food court(Norcross) also come to mind as well as Ming’s BBQ to a certain extent(ITP and OTP). Best BBQ may be the best of the lot. It’s certainly the newest, and cleanest, and they accept credit cards. Some of the aforementioned competitors are cash only. Pork, duck, chicken — they have it all and it’s on display behind a glass window just like the street stalls in Hong Kong. This place is popular and the food turns over quick, meaning the meats stay fresh. I’ve sat and ate lunch here and seen entire racks of pork and several sets of whole duck get chopped and replenished at a brisk rate. The BBQ meats are served in an assortment of styles. Examples: — Pork: crispy(with fat), honey BBQ(char siu), BBQ spare ribs — Duck: roasted, salted, bitter, crispy, pipa(flattened) — Chicken: poached, soy sauce, salted, scallion oil(my dad’s favorite) BBQ isn’t the only thing on the menu. There’s also congee(rice porridge), noodle soups, rice dishes, dim sum, and other entrees. All very good. Like other Asian food court stalls, there are helpful picture menus on the wall. Best BBQ actually has a rather long counter. Part of the counter has packaged, ready-made foods like pig ears(both marinated and unmarinated), chicken feet(just like dim sum), peanut fish, and duck kidneys. Finally, one of the best«features» or «secrets»(it’s not really a secret to Chinese people) of Best BBQ is you can buy fresh seafood(e.g. live lobster) and/or other foods at the supermarket and bring it over and the chefs will cook it for you. They are very accommodating as far as requests go. Dishes, whether it’s foods you bring over from the supermarket or Best BBQ’s own, are highly customizable, just so long as there’s no language barrier(which there very may well be). I think the prices are fair, especially for the quality of meat you get. I’ve found that the roasted meats here are generally fresher, leaner, and relatively less greasy than the other guys. Pork can be purchased at $ 9.50 per pound(perhaps slightly above the average going rate). Whole duck can be purchased for $ 21.95. Whole chicken, about $ 17 – 18 each. Note these have already been cooked and possibly seasoned or marinated. Congee is affordable at roughly $ 5 – 7 per bowl. Noodle soups are $ 7 – 8 per bowl. Rice plates are roughly $ 7 – 8 each. All of the roasted meats I’ve tried have been terrific. I highly recommend the honey BBQ pork(char siu), roast duck, soy sauce chicken, and scallion oil chicken. They are great on-the-go or at the food court. My family loves getting pounds of the roast pork by itself to take home. The noodle soups are fantastic. The savory broth is comparably light to other Hong Kong noodle soups I’ve had around town. I like the egg noodles they use. Very appetizing. Chinese broccoli is a common veggie used in the soups to accompany the noodles and meat. Both the roast duck and BBQ pork go great in the soups. Note the duck is chopped and served bone-in. The crispy pork and BBQ pork are boneless. The duck meat is tender and the pork is simply delicious. The rice plates are very good too. The meats are served over white rice with a generous helping of chopped Chinese mustard greens and a small bowl of chicken stock with taro and sweet potato. The soup is bland, but it’s there to offset the richness and somewhat intense flavors of the roasted meats. No matter what form of BBQ you order, the meats will be chopped and served directly from the display rack in front of you. It’s fun to watch. Don’t overlook the dim sum either! Best BBQ’s dim sum is actually quite good and stands up to the best dim sum restaurants in Atlanta. I’ve only had Best BBQ’s dim sum on weekends around lunchtime, so I’m not sure if they offer dim sum on weekdays. Some dim sum items I like to get here are chicken feet(one of my favorite dim sum items since I was a child) and xiaolongbao, which are Shanghai soup dumplings. It’s amazing how much great food this food court stall pumps out. Payment is done upfront. Dine-in orders are served on trays. Take-out orders are served in Styrofoam or sturdy plastic containers with snap-shut lids and securely packaged/tied in plastic bags. A self-serve pitcher of water + disposable chopsticks, condiments(e.g. chili oil) are available at the pick-up counter. If dining in, trays with used dishes/silverware should be returned at the far left counter of the stall. Ample parking is available in the Great Wall Supermarket parking lot. To find Best BBQ, enter the supermarket and the food court is directly to your left. Best BBQ is in the very back. Enjoy!

This is one of a few food concessions located inside The Great Wall Market. It was the busiest with patron activities compared to the others. Overall it’s good, however not perfect(yet). I’ve yet to find a perfect Cantonese Chinese restaurant that is comparable to places that I use to patronize in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Hong Kong. However, this place will satisfy that craving for Cantonese Chinese«comfort food». It’s very local, and as authentic as you’re able to find. This place has a glass case with hanging roast ducks… a sign of authenticity(it’s good, but not the best… based on my taste buds of Los Angeles, Asia and New York). We deliberately over ordered to do a «taste test» of a variety of items. We ordered won ton noodles with roast duck, another won ton with Char siu(bbq pork), plain sir fry«gai lan»(Chinese broccoli), two different dim sums. One was«har gow»(shrimp dim sum) and another«sui mai»(pork hash dumpling). This place merely satisfies a craving. Regarding their dim sum, they just need to work on their techniques with the assembly of the dim sum(they’re super big or oversized, slightly over steamed as the dough was a little mushy, but it tasted good). Portions of vege. dish and bowls of won ton soup were all super big too! The gailan vegetables were perfect! We took alot home for leftovers. 37.00 at a food court… but then again, we deliberately over ordered to give it an honest assessment. It’s a good place for a quick fix craving. It’s authentic, it’s good(considering that there are few authentic locations in GA). The service of our food order was sporadic. Everything came in piece meal. But this didn’t matter too much with us. So be aware. Nothing fancy, you come here to eat. Portions are big, so big that one item can feed two people. Heard other customers making the same comments about large food portions too. I guess this is a good thing. Especially if you have a big appetite. We headed to the adjacent building for pastries and latte. We’ll try out the other restaurants in this area too. They all looked pretty good.

The one thing that Atlanta does not do well is dim sum. It’s very disappointing, especially growing up in cities like Boston and New York, where good quality dim sum is plentiful. Based on Unilocal reviews, I found this«restaurant»(it’s inside the food court of Great Wall Supermarket) and it seemed to have pretty reliable reviews of good dim sum. «Good» is definitely relative though, since I hear it’s worse at other places. Anyways, I had to give it a try for myself. I was there this morning, and as expected, it was busy and crowded, since it was Saturday morning. You go up to the cashier and order whatever items you want. They have a picture menu to help you order, if you don’t/can’t order from the sheet that’s all in Chinese. It’d be nice if they had English translations, but I appreciated the pictures. More about the menu at the end of my review. My friend and I ordered shrimp dumplings(ha-gao), tripe, chicken feet, shumai, spare ribs, long shrimp noodle thing(ha-cherng), and the fried cone shrimp. They call your number once your order is ready. I was walking back to my table, and realized I didn’t have all the items I ordered. I went back up and they said they were still working on the last one. That was not communicated to me. Had I not went back up, I doubt they would’ve given it to me. The food was lukewarm to cool by the time we started eating. It was mediocre, but still supposedly better than other dim sum restaurants that my friend has tried in the Atlanta area. The shumai were very big, but it just seemed like a lot of meat. Not much other flavor going on. Everything was really oily and I felt gross after eating it. My biggest issue was with the fried cone shrimp. On the menu and the picture menu, this is listed as «fried cone shrimp» and there is a picture of THREE fried cone shrimps on a plate. I thought, oh this sounds good, I should try this. Not only was this the most expensive item on the plate(~$ 4.75 I believe), it only comes with ONE. I was very surprised at this and thought it must be a mistake. I went back up to them to ask about this, and they were very rude. The first guy I spoke to flat out ignored me and turned around to do his work again. Not only were they rude, but they said that this dish always comes with only one. Then why bother printing misinformation on your menu? And I’ve never seen any other dim sum place that only gives you ONE of something. They said that they only give one since they make it bigger than what it normally is. Supposedly the man I spoke to said they inform customers when ordering, but we were not informed. Had I been informed I was paying almost $ 5 for ONE fried cone shrimp, I most definitely would not have ordered it. My whole experience here was a letdown. I’m giving this place three stars in the hopes that their BBQ and other menu items are good. I was hungry, so I ate all my food, but it was not a great dining experience at all. When I brought my plates back up at the end, one of the staff apologized to me for the misinformation, which was appreciated, but I just wanted to leave at that point. Not worth the money.

It’s true. They’re the best. According to my family anyway. We are no longer picking up our BBQ and roasted meats from Hoa Binh inside the perimeter. Each time my mom prepares a meal at home in memory of our ancestors, I stop by Best BBQ to pick up soy sauce chicken and either honey bbq pork or roasted pork in a ½ or 1 lb portion. Soy sauce chicken: this is a staple Cantonese chicken dish often found at bbq shops. The glossy whole chicken is dunked in a soy sauce mix and the silky sheen of the skin draws me in every time through the looking glass! The meat is juicy and perfect when dipped in soy sauce and diced Thai chiles(prepared at home) and the ginger and scallion condiment. Honey bbq pork: A salty and sweet bite of tasty pork that goes well with everything it seems — on its own, as a stuffing for pork buns, in stir fry’s and over steamed white rice. Food coloring lends the red color and honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar hoisin sauce, five spice powder and rice wine create the flavor that can do no wrong. Roasted pork: listen to the butcher’s cleaver chop through the fatty, crispy pork skin. Yes, please. Oh and my first love – dim sum. If atmosphere and the rolling carts aren’t important to you, come here for affordable and mouthwatering dim sum delights. Order at the register off of a laminated menu and get ready.

To start with the good, the food is as good as everyone previously has said. Dim sum(shumai, hakau, etc) & char siu too. Dim sum is made to order & isnt ready on demand so account for it. Why did I just give 3 stars? Unfortunately I saw a roach walking on the outer display window in front of the roasted duck. Not too much longer I saw the same or different cockroach on the interior of the window.

Out of all the food stalls at Great Wall, Best BBQ is one of my top choices for GW dining. Serves dim sum everyday till 8pm. Not only do they have dim sum, their BBQ is the delicious! You can’t go wrong with rice combos or noodle soups. They have so many options that are cheap with HUGE portion sizes. They accept credit card payments while majority of the food stalls are cash only. Complimentary tea and water with cups up front with a variety of sauces. Be sure to have your receipt with the order number. It comes in handy when picking up your order.

A few years ago I had vowed to never set foot in Great Wall again after a horrible shopping experience the review has gone missing ? Anyway after reading a couple of reviews recently decided to visit the food court and am happy to say the food has been really good. Dim Sum is also served here if you are not sure what you want there is a laminated menu with pictures on it to help you out just ask for it. The Shrimp Dumplings and the Shrimp and Chive Dumplings are very similar and just under five dollars each. Both are three per order the Shrimp dumplings are round and steamed with a small amount of chive. The Shrimp and Chive dumplings are just that and are pan fried, there is more chive in this and a bit less shrimp. Both are equally good choosing would be of personal preference. Shrimp Pan fried Noodle has always been a favorite and Best BBQ is making it the way it should be made. Light crispy noodles that are not oily, topped with several large shrimp, carrot and Chinese broccoli in a light sauce. You can choose your protein for this dish. Plan on sharing or taking home left overs for lunch the next day. The Pork Noodle soup is solid has Chinese broccoli and plenty of meat piled on top. Remember to add a healthy dose of chili oil to kick it up and get to slurpin, two people could share this if you were wanting a light lunch. If you go on the weekend for lunch the first wave starts early and will thin out by 11:30 am and around 12:15 the second wave will begin. The tables will fill up quickly so «stake your claim» as soon as you get there or plan on sitting next to someone you don’t know. Everyone has been very polite. Take out containers can be asked for at the counter and when you are done with your meal just drop your used tray on the counter at the end on your way out.

This place is in a food court inside a grocery store. Pros: The food tasted good and authentic. Price is reasonable. They have many Cantonese dishes and dimsum which is great. Cons: Since it’s a food court, the sitting option is meh. The guy who works there doesn’t speak English, you better learn some Chinese before walk in haha. Get stomach upsetting that night after the dinner.

This my joint right here! Talk about authentic, yo mama if she could, motherland China kind of good home style cooking. If that was hard to read just now, please forgive me. I’m just really enthusiastic about this place. I didn’t even know it was call Best BBQ until it showed up on my credit card statement, which at first I thought someone else was trying to steal my card, I was like when in the world did go to a place called Best BBQ? Don’t even try to google Best BBQ, it will get you no where. Once again I apologize for digressing, back to the main topic. This is place is located at the end of the food court wall in the Great Wall Chinese Supermarket. If you never been to this super market, I would definitely go just for the food court, as it has some of the most authentic Chinese options I’ve seen in the entire state. Best BBQ, out of all of them is my favorite. They’re mostly known for their roasted duck, which hangs on a hook right in front you. They have tons of other Chinese dishes, like fried rice, chow fun, and of course wonton noodle. They also serve dim sum but it tends to sell out quickly especially on the weekend mornings, when the market is packed. Everything about this place is good, not much to complain about. I mean the food court itself and the supermarket do look kind of ghetto, but that just makes it even more authentic. Trust me you won’t be finding any panda mascots here, just the fresh smells of MSG(you can tell it’s a joke right?). My Recommendations: –Roasted Duck –Shrimp Fried Rice –Wonton Noodle Soup

I figured this place was deserving of an updated review, with an updated rating, considering I have 17 check-ins at this location. Yes yes, I’m a fan :) Huge portion size for an amazing price. I recently started trying their dim sum and oh my… best dim sum I’ve had here in Atl! Each order is huge! They make it fresh to order so it comes out hot. I have found my new favorite dim sum location, and who knew it would be located at a food court. Other worthy items to try: wonton noodle soup, beef chow fun, and pan fried seafood noodles. All very good! My favorite thing about this place is the consistence. With 17 check-ins, I have yet to have a bad experience or a bad meal. This place is one of the more popular spots around the food court so you can expect to see a huge line, but they still do a good job getting your food out in a reasonable amount of time. Service is friendly. Food is awesome. Prices are affordable. You really can’t go wrong at this place. Check out my photos of this place and you’ll see why I love it so much.

Beef Chow Fun was wonderful — hadn’t had this dish in a long time. These peeps need to open a location in Charlotte, NC :) You have to know that this is inside a food court at Great Wall Supermarket, so do not look for ‘Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine’ on any building at this address. The supermarket sign is a GW! The supermarket itself looks terrific although I didn’t browse through it. At first glance however, it seems tons better than the largest one I go to in Charlotte, NC. Will definitely stop in again.

After hearing good things about Best BBQ Canto Cuisine, I figure I try it out. Oh, and they take credit card? YES; I’m there. This place is better than the the Duluth Ming’s. Hate to say it. I love Mings, esp the BuHi location, but the Duluth one’s quality isn’t as good as Best BBQ’s. As for location — inside Great Wall. Since GW is for grocery shopping like HMart, the parking is awesome. Huge lot and several spaces. I doubt you’ll ever be in a «I can’t find parking» situation. Just like HMart’s shops, you’ll be sitting in a food court. Once you order, you’ll get a #. When they call your #, you get your tray. I’ll say this — The folks say the # in several languages. I do NOT speak Canto nor Mandarin. So I was happy to hear English was spoken.(I think I was the only Korean running around hahaha) Food — I’m a big fan of the Roasted Duck Noodle Soup. Noodles & duck are delicious and very tasty. The broth and scallions are good as well. Fresh ingredients. I’d definitely come here for it if I am in Duluth. Beef Lo Mein — Whoa, this is a massive plate. My bf couldn’t finish it. I had a few bites, I liked it. I rarely eat this kind of food anyway, so it’s hard for me to really embrace it. But nonetheless, it is better than your typical Chinese restaurant. Overall — I’ll be back :)

Yummy, yummy Cantonese barbecue. When I go to Great Wall Supermarket, I get more excited about eating at Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine than shopping for food. It’s worth walking all the way to the back corner of Great Wall(behind the produce section). I have tried three of their meats — the scallion oil chicken, the honey barbecue pork, and the roasted pork. The scallion oil chicken was an accidental order because the restaurant was out of soy sauce chicken when I went. This was a good accident, though, because the scallion oil chicken was moist and tasty. Out of the three meats, the scallion oil chicken was my favorite. The roasted pork was also tasty. The honey barbecue pork(char siu) was sweet and tasty — the cuts I got were somewhere in between lean and fatty. The sauces on the barbecued meats blended well with the white rice, which ended up as tasty as the chicken or the pork. On the side, you will get pickled mustard greens and a small soup. Don’t forget to bring your tray to the counter when you’re done. I haven’t tried the roasted duck, but it’s also on the menu. Aside from the barbecued meat dishes, there is also a fairly large selection of rice dishes and noodles. Dim sum in bamboo steamers can also be purchased. Seating is cafeteria style and shared with the rest of the food stands in Great Wall Supermarket.

If long lines are an indicator of popularity, my guess is Best BBQ wins. I think the menu selection has to do with that. I see many order the Dimsum, the Congee(HUGE bowls) and the Seafood & Vegetable. Crowd is all Chinese. My eyes are always drawn to the hanging roasted duck and pork(I love duck). You will feel like you’re in China and forget you’re really in Duluth — they seem to understand English at this particular food court stall. Another thing to note is that the big red«English only» menu on the wall has higher prices than the menus located at the cashier stand — so look at the smaller menus :) ROASTDUCKNOODLESOUP — $ 7.70 Thanks to Kristin B’s review — also the weather was cold and rainy — so the noodle soup was calling my name. The broth was the star player — very tasty, sweet and fragrant. Bowl was greasy so that tells you too the soup was quite flavorful :) Yummy duck(watch out for the bones), Chinese broccoli, scallions and thin egg noodle(very al dente — personally not a fan). I’d definitely order again — although there are so many other dishes I’d like to try first. BBQCOMBORICE(any two) — $ 8.80 Got the Honey BBQ Pork(yummy) and Roasted Duck(watch out for the bones) — both good. Also comes with rice and small bowl of broth. SEAFOODCHOWFUNDRY — $ 12.25 Probably should’ve gone with the popular«Seafood & Vegetables(N30)» but that dish comes w/the thin crispy egg noodles and I prefer the flat rice noodles — but the chow fun was a little disappointing with mostly noodles and not as much seafood as I would’ve liked. I counted(yes I did) 1 scallop(at least it was jumbo), 2 shrimp(jumbo yay), 2 mussels, 2 imitation crabmeat(give me real or don’t give me anything), 2 fishcake, a few pieces of fish — and then bean sprouts and green onions. Generous portion — I think I got 3 meals out of it. This is more of a sharing dish. Next time I’d like to try the Seafood & Vegetables, Congee and Dimsum. FYI they’re the very last stall in the food court of Great Wall Supermarket.

The family and I decided to try this spot after reading(and seeing the pics in) a Blissful Glutton review(she never steers us wrong). I was intrigued by the idea of ordering dim sum items made fresh to order instead of picking items that may be not-so-fresh or cold from a cart that has been circling for a while. So glad we tried it. We ordered the xiao long bao(soup dumplings), and they were excellent. Fresh and juicy. I bit into one(rookie mistake) and sent soup flying across the table at my husband. Excellent sign. We also had the shu mai(pork dumplings). They were huge, compared to the shu mai I see at most Atlanta dim sum restaurants. Tasty and delicious. I have no idea what the other dish we ordered it called. It is the fried tapioca stuffed with pork. It is my absolute favorite dim sum dish, and Best BBQ did it incredibly well. Finally, we had chow fun noodles(beef, wide-rice noodles, and bean sprouts). All of the food was delicious. Perfect, even. We went on a Sunday morning. That may have been a mistake. It was very crowded. There was a long line(that moved pretty quickly). And picking up the order was incredibly hectic and crowded. Finding a place to sit(seating is in a food court type area) was challenging. I will definitely return, but probably not on a Sunday morning.

Food court stalls are starting to catch my eye more and more these days. A co-worker and I came here for dinner one night based on reviews, pictures, and proximity. This place has signs hanging along the top of their stall with pictures of the dishes they offer, along with price and the name of the dish(in Cantonese, Vietnamese, and English). I had been craving dim sum for quite some time, so that’s the route I went. Ask for the menu and they’ll hand you one. Again, there’s pictures for everything but the prices aren’t shown, unfortunately. The receipt is not in English, but of the three things I ordered, they were priced $ 2.83 and(2) $ 3.54. I ordered the prawn dumplings(4 pcs), shumai(4 pcs), and bbq pork buns(3 pcs). When we came on a weeknight, the dim sum is made to order and took some time, but it was freakin’ worth it! Forget about Canton House, Golden House, Oriental Pearl, etc. This will be my go-to from now on. The dim sum, in size, is about 2 – 3 times bigger than what the other restaurants offer. Taste-wise was on point, as well. Everything piping hot, tasty, and fresh. I would recommend coming on a weekday for the freshest food. On busy weekends, they pre-make the popular items and they sit out until sold. In this case, they give you everything they can first and will call your number again when they make everything else. I was unsure of how many different items to order to fill me up, but two items would have sufficed. I was only able to eat about half of my dinner, and brought the rest home for lunch the next day. Depending on who is at the register, you might have a hard time ordering. If you’re ordering dim sum, just point to whatever you want. They will ring you up, provide the receipt, and circle your ticket number. When your order is ready, they will call your number via speaker/intercom. There’s condiments/sauces, utensils, and free water and tea by the pick up window. Next time, I’ll definitely pick up some roast duck or char siu that’s hanging in the display window.

Ate here for the first time today because I happened to be a GW to get some grocery shopping done and it was delicious and cheap:). I mainly came here for dim sum and congee so thats what I tried/ate. I got the pork/egg congee and xia cheung fun(I think thats how its spelled in english?). Around $ 10 and i couldn’t finish it(aka, its gone end up being dinner to lol). Next time I will get the bbq honey pork combo or duck. I just wasn’t craving meat today. I hear its delicious though so i am anxious to try! Probably will get that next weekend or sometimes later this week. Oh they speak english, canto, and mandarin so no worries what you speak lol.

Yummmmmm. Located inside the Great Wall Market, Best BBQ is aptly named — it’s the best Beijing-style barbecued duck I’ve had outside of, well, Beijing. The food court and this stand in particular can be a little overwhelming, particularly on the weekend. You won’t hear a lot of English being spoken, and you won’t see much written either. Thankfully, the stack of menus by the register has some helpful pictures. Place your order at the register, and wait to pick up your food by the(complimentary) hot tea canister to the left of the registers. They do accept credit cards now, but they have a $ 10 minimum. When the food is ready, they call most(but not all) order numbers in English as well as Chinese, so keep an eye out on the plates coming up. Based on the reviews and pictures from Daniel B., I went with the barbecued duck noodle soup, which was perfect for a day that began with snowflurries. It’s rich, hearty broth with a generous portion of finely shredded egg noodles — think ramen, but with an angel hair pasta width. It’s cooked with Chinese broccoli and topped with a generous portion of barbecued duck, cut fresh from the hanging birds on display. They put the meat on last and kind of «float» it on the broth and noodles, so it retains its crispy skin. The meat was tender and flavorful, and not fatty at all. Be aware that the meat is still on the bone, but I think that helped add to the flavor, even if it did not make it the most graceful dish to eat. While there are lots of tasty options in this food court, Best BBQ will definitely merit a return trip for me.

I have found my new favorite dim sum place! This place beat out golden house and canton house in my book! Granted their dim sum offering is limited compared to the other two restaurants but what this place offers have more flavors and a bigger portion than the other two. I love the following dishes and dim sum from here:(also, they offers other dishes and not just dim sum. They also have bbq offerings! From honey bbq meats to roasted ducks. This place have a lot to offer!) Dim sum offering: –chicken feet –shu mai –steamed shrimp dumplings(har gou) –tripe Other dish: –Bbq plate(lunch 6 $) comes with soup –honey bbq –chicken chow fung –won ton soup with duck meat All of the above was tasty, fresh and super affordable! And since this place is in a food court, you ordered and pick it up when your number is called. It’s self service and no tips. Also, this place is pretty fast but expect to wait on the weekend. They are very busy! So that must mean they are authentic and good! Give them a try! :)
