She is a blessing. Everything was great. I couldn’t have picked better. I am glad that I listened to the Unilocal reviews this time because she was worth it.

I needed to redo my gel polish that had grown out after 3 weeks and saw this $ 45 for $ 68 Unilocal Deal accompanied by all 5-star reviews. It was easy to schedule my appointment and Ann-Marie was flexible enough to squeeze me in on a Monday even though she is usually closed on Mondays. She is located inside the French Door Salon on Duluth Square and if you only rely on your GPS, you’ll miss it, so keep your eyes peeled. Her little private room is very clean and cozy with almost NO trace of acetone smell, which is always the part I hate most about going to nail salons. In the 2 hours that I spent with her getting a spa pedicure and a French shellac manicure, she was super friendly and the easiest person to talk to. I may or may not have told her one too many personal things but I feel like I can trust her with my gossip. The best part was that I showed up 2 days before getting my legs waxed and she didn’t make me feel awkward or embarrassed at all about the 4-wk hair growth on my legs. The reason why this is a 4-star, rather than 5-star, review is that I didn’t notice until I got home that my French manicure is uneven. Admittedly, I didn’t show up with nails of all equal lengths but that issue is usually fixed in the process of getting a manicure. If you look at the photo I’ve posted, you can see that the upper edges of the white parts are uneven. While most manicurists I’ve had clean up that edge on every nail with alcohol, Ann-Marie only did that for one of my nails. Then for the actual white tips, you can also see that they are of varying thicknesses, emphasizing the fact that my middle finger’s nail(a chunk of which got ripped off while carrying a heavy luggage last month) is shorter than my ring finger’s. Lastly, I discovered 3 air bubbles trapped in the white tip of my index finger. I had similar issues on the left hand but they’re not as bad. Honestly, Ann-Marie is fantastic in every way except in painting on perfect French tips. If you aren’t a French manicure nazi and obsessive like me about having perfect perfect tips that look borderline fake or you’re just looking for a regular mani/pedi or full-color shellac polish, I’d recommend her 100%.

I found out about Anne-Marie from right here on Unilocal — she was the highest rated in my area and is actually very close to where I live. She does indeed deserve the high ratings! I’ll follow suit with 5⁄5 stars. She was easy to schedule an appt with and I actually had to reschedule and it was easy to reach her/communicate with her. She was ready and waiting for me when I arrived. Her private room within the Red Door Salon overlooks the town green and is very comfortable, she plays fun music, clean, etc. She is friendly and easy to talk to– I feel like I just spent a morning with an old friend! Definitely a treat to have my nails done and get some girl-talk in too :) I’m not an expert on mani/pedi’s but she appeared to be very conscientious about cleanliness and the proper technique/way to do things. She took her time, I never felt rushed. I got a pedicure and I LOVE it! It’s fantastic! And very relaxing. Then, I got a shellac manicure with an American finish and I could not be more happy with the results. I normally don’t get to pamper myself, but might have to make a point to see her on a regular basis. Highly recommended.(Oh, and for those that follow The Pioneer Woman Blog– she DOES use the real CND shellac — not the fake OPI«shellac».)

I have just found a new way to pamper myself! I needed a place to get my nails done that was close to home and this spot is right on the Duluth Square. Anne-Marie is great! She is very personable and she provides individual attention. The«salon within a salon» concept is wonderful — so peaceful. You don’t hear a bunch of other conversations. It is very clean and there is no overwhelming acetone smell. It was so relaxing. It was easy to make an appointment and she was prompt. In fact, when I arrived the chair and foot spa were waiting for me.

My nails have never looked so good! Anne Marie introduced me to the Shellac and not only have my own nails grown stronger but I now can go longer in between visits. And its nice to consistently get compliment on my nails. You will love it. And Anne Marie is simply a great person who is a expert/professional in this industry always up on the latest trends and very mindful to use high quality products.

I found Anne-Marie’s Designs on Unilocal, and purchased the $ 75 for $ 50 deal she had going on, hoping for the best. I’ve had shellac manicures and countless pedicures at a variety of places ranging from Arizona to NYC, $ 15 to $ 100, and Anne-Marie did a fantastic job with both, at a reasonable price. The pedicure was relaxing, moisturizing,(sanitary — you may laugh, but you know what I mean!) and just the right amount of time. My toes looked great! The shellac manicure was just as nice, and is still shiny and chip-free one week later(it usually lasts at least two weeks). In fact, I got several compliments the very next day! Anne-Marie was patient while I chose from her wide variety of colors(both shellac and polish), and maintained a pleasant conversation the entire time without rushing through anything. The entire process took about 1.2−2hrs(we were chatty). As a side note, my old favorite salon in AZ was Bliss(super chic and very expensive), and I enjoyed both the experience and the mani/pedi just as much! Also, Anne-Marie is located in French Door Salon, which hosts a variety of other services(hair, etc.), so it’s worth checking out. One last thing: I was very worried about the shellac aspect of my mani(I’ve had bad/inexperienced people), and Anne-Marie definitely put me at ease — she knows her stuff, and does things by the book. Definitely going back(already have my next appt.). Thanks :-)

Spa pedicures by Anne-Marie Martin are luxurious and refreshing, and the polish lasts a long time. Her nail salon is a private room within a larger salon overlooking the fountains in Duluth. She is meticulous about sanitation and health practices — she uses a separate disposable plastic liner for each pedicure. Anne-Marie is fun and easy to talk to. She grew up in Gwinnett County and she used to travel on behalf of the nail products companies. But if you would rather just page through a magazine or close your eyes while she massages your feet and paints your toes, that is fine also! (She offers gift certificates!)
