This place is close to work and I come here all the time for the sandwiches for lunch. Mmmmmm, good sandwiches, extra spicy roasted beef sandwiches! They are always fresh, huge, delicious and made with good heart. The cashier dude knows what I am going to order when he immediately recognizes my voice. I haven’t really purchased much other things in the shop, other than chocolates and what not. But I can see their produces and meats are fresh and good looking. I give 5 stars any day.

Excellent sandwiches! The best all around. I order the sandwich platters and other catering platters for work. They are sweet, attentive and provide great customer service. The tuna sandwich is amazing!!!

This place changes things for sandwiches everywhere. There is no doubt in my mind that if people had Tropicana market’s sandwiches on the regular, there would be no subway or the like. Sure you pay 2 more dollars but you literally can feed 2 people with 1 sandwich. The product itself is worth the extra money you shell out, the bread, the pesto, the veggies, the cheese… no no I just finished my first one and I already want another. IT“S LIFECHANGING!

Went last week for the avocado sandwich and today went like 1:10pm there was no one waiting when I walk in she was already preparing a couple of sandwiches. I stood there with my 2 little ones of course she notice I was there. SHE looked a few times I was waiting and no one else was there waiting. I stood by the deli sign. So after 5 min she finish those sandwiches and look at me and said if there were mine. I was nice and clear«No, I haven’t order YET!!! Lastly two business ladies walk in and she went ahead and took their order. I wasn’t gonna wait another 5−10minutes. I just walked away. My kids were a little loud for her not to notice I was there waiting. ISTHEREANEXACTSPOTYOUNEEDTOSTANDFORYOUTOORDER???

I have seen this place many times, but never ventured inside. The strip mall it’s in is not that desirable… but, after my experience… who cares!!! After reading others’ Unilocal reviews, my husband and I decided on the turkey melt(and, so glad we decided to share… this sandwich is HUGE). It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time!!! We also got ½ lb of olives and 2 drinks, and only spent about $ 16!!! In retrospect, I would have paid double for that sandwich… it was that good!

Love this little market! Meat is always fresh and cheap. Great stuff for bbq because its already marinated! And best if all!!! They have marinated quail and lamb chops! The quail was cheaper than what the sell at the poultry store! They have a good variety if fresh veggies and fruits too.

I love their sandwiches! We have tried all but the tuna and they are all pretty good. Our favorite is the avocado melt, it’s SO good! Only draw back is that they take a while to get the order out but we call it in ahead and we haven’t had that problem since. I’ve also shopped their market and I like their produce, always fresh and good quality. Staff is friendly.

I have been coming to this place before it received a makeover and was taken over by the new owners! The new owners have really revamped the place and have made it a true culinary gem in the city of Duarte. Fresh produce, exotic spices and olives, yummy foreign chocolates and other Mediterranean imports keep me coming back. The prices are reasonable and the service deli staff rock! A huge variety of cheeses, sandwiches, meats and olives can be found in the deli department. If you’re hitting up the Hollywood Bowl and are looking for some fancy«fufu» picnic fare, this is THE place! Be the envy of all your fellow picnic-ers! $ 10 minimum for credit cards. The place is located in a sketchy strip mall, but the ambiance and cleanliness will make you forget where it’s located :)

My fav little local market. Produce is fresh and reasonably priced. I buy my mozzarella, basil and field fresh tomatoes here every week to make my caprese salad. Mozarella is cheaper here $ 5.99 vs $ 7.99 at the grocery store. Customer service from the lady and the young guy is always friendly. Am addicted to their great sandwiches. avocado melt. The prosciutto sandwhich is too salty for me and the burrata… odd. Sticking to my fav. I swear I eat one least every other week! Have told lots of people about this place so I hope it will further increase their business.

I don’t shop here, I just go for the amazing sandwiches. My favorite is the turkey & avocado. The sandwiches are delicious, HUGE, and cheap! I don’t know what they do to those sandwiches to make them so damn good! Highly recommend this place for the sandwiches! The customer service is mediocre, but whatever. :)

This Mediterranean middle eastern market rocks! Clean and friendly very nice butcher selection. All types of imported goodies from the Mid East. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables that look great! A pita bread section and already made hummus, tabouli, etc. Plus a great small bakery packaged cookie area with lots of great cookies plus breads. This place is a neat find. If you like Claros for Italian you will like this cute family run place for middle eastern! Support your local small markets! Great prices too!

My review is only for the awesome sandwiches from the deli, not the market itself. First off, any sandwich you get is huge. In fact, it’s so large that they cut it in half and wrap each half separately, making it SEEM like you have 2 sandwiches. It’s plenty to share, so if you don’t eat alot, find someone to give the other half to. Italian Club($ 5.99) Again, just the pure size of this is awesome, but mix in the fresh cut meat and cheese? Winner. Definitely recommended. Spicy Roast Beef($ 5.99) Who doesn’t love roast beef? Now add some spice to it and VOILA! It changes something that’s good to great. Huge fan. What I didn’t like was that there weren’t any tables to eat our sandwiches. I see this more as a restaurant than a market, so tables are a must. I want to sit down and enjoy this gigantic sandwich.

I was here last nite, got my Avocado turkey melt– Delish! Plse, be patient when you’re waiting for your order… Trust me, it’s worth the wait. If you Unilocal n check it you’ll get a free Ciabatta when your order is over is $ 25

I came to this store after my husband read the reviews about this on Unilocal. To be honest, I had always seen this market from the street and if I was at one of the businesses in the plaza this place shares it with, I had always thought it was a Mexican market. From the name, I just thought it was and also it being in Duarte(where a very STRONG majority of the residents are Hispanic), I just assumed it was a Mexican market. Well it just goes to show how very wrong I was for assuming. Anyways, I was delightfully surprised to find that it is a Mediterranean market selling things I would normally drive all the way to Glendale for, like gata & eggplant caviar(pureed eggplant with deliciously added seasonings). I love that I can buy gata here that has 50% less sugar and yet it still taste just as good. Prices here is actually pretty comparable to the prices I have seen at the market I shop at in Glendale, but what makes this even better is that I save more money on gas by shopping here from now on. In case you are wondering, I bought a 19 oz jar for the eggplant caviar for $ 3.29 and the gata was $ 2.99. Pita bread and Lavash bread here is pretty cheap as well, which I will definitely pick up next time I come back here. Also oranges were pretty cheap(currently $ 0.25/ lb when I shopped there on Friday) and very juicy and large. This place also sell sandwiches, hommos(hummus), and other deli like goodies that would be excellent to serve to guests or family(or just myself). I plan on coming back here to try these yummy items as well. Overall, an excellent gem of a find in an unlikely location providing delicious possible culinary adventures for your mouth! Oh and by the way, there is a $ 10 minimum charge in order to use a credit card. But they do take debit card if you don’t carry cash around like myself. And also the people we interacted with at this market were very friendly and helpful.
