Family’s Barber Shop

Wow finally found a good place for a haircut. My kids loved it tgey were really good with the boys. They cut fast, very good cuts, only short wait, great price.

The O.G. of the SGV! My family has been coming to this place for 10+ years and is a Duarte institution. Quality haircuts for cheap. My brother and father come here once a month for a regular men’s haircut and trim, which is $ 12 (prices have gone up from $ 5 over the years!) Parking is available in the back, there is a lot behind the Thai City restaurant. You can also park on the curb if there’s space available. The shop is family owned and operated by a really friendly family. They know my brother by name! The shop itself is a little run down (paint chipping, older furniture) but the barber chairs have been replaced and look really comfy and clean!
If you’re looking for a dapper haircut and wanna look FRESH AF for cheap, then come on down to Family’s!!! Cash is the preferred method of payment, sometimes their credit card machine doesn’t work.

Good old fashion haircut with an emphasis on keeping up with modern trends. Very personable and family oriented. Husband and wife own AND run this place. Stop in for a great cut.

Been coming to this barbershop for over 20 years! My brother and I were one of the first customers this place had! Owned by a loving family that has provided this community with the greatest service!

Best place to get a perfect cut every time. I pay between $ 14 – 16, depending if I use a credit card to pay and how much I tip. They accept all types of payments, which is a huge plus! It may look a little old and run down on the outside, but inside the place smells good and looks authentic. They also sell different hair products, including do-​rags.
During my most recent visit, I didn’t have to wait because the other customers were waiting for Robert. I got seated right away and a younger fella cut my hair. He did an excellent job, and actually took a good amount of time making sure everything was even.

Just moved out to duarte not too long, very picky with who touches my hair. I decided to go & try it out, the guy that cut my hair listened very good & I got exactly what I wanted, great customer service, good price, I found my new barbershop

I love coming to this barber shop. It is everything a barber should be, in my opinion.
First, let’s talk about the layout. There is always plenty of parking in the back. When you walk in you are always greeted by Robert or his wife. You got plenty of seats for waiting, stacks of magazines (for men, women, and children), and a tv in the corner playing a movie. Also it just has that great barbershop smell!
Now let’s talk about the service. This is why I love old school barber shops! The art of customer service is not lost here. I am a little nitpicky with my hairstyle but Robert is never one to complain, and always hooks me up with a great cut. When I feel like talking there is always great conversation, and on days I just want to read a magazine I am left to my own devices.
Also, your place in line is never lost. I’ve gone to shops where people get special treatment, or get to cut in front of you. Here you know when you’re coming up and you don’t need to stress about it.
Finally, I wanna talk pricing. You just can’t find a better deal for the prices charged here. I pay $ 15 with tip included for a low fade hair cut, then a taper in the back. I won’t get into much more detail but there’s actually a little more. They sell some hair products there as well and all at very competitive prices.
Do I recommend this place? That is an emphatic YES! Come down and experience what it is like to get a haircut in a real barber shop.

One of several places my husband goes to get his haircut in Duarte. Total price for a haircut, with tip, $ 10.
My husband always just do a walk in and rarely does he have to wait to get his hair cut.
This place only has 2 chairs inside, so the place is a bit small.
You can either get your hair cut by a woman or a man.
On my husband’s most recent visit (yesterday), he got his hair cut by a woman and it was a little uneven. So unfortunately, he will most likely no longer be coming back. (But in the past, he did not have any problems with his hair cuts before in the past).
By the way, you can park on the curb or park in the back.

This is yet another review for my boyfriend who doesn’t have a Unilocal.
He LOVES this place. In fact this is the only man that he will let cut his hair.
He always does a great job and even still uses a straight razor to clean up the sides. Cheap prices for such good work. This hole in the wall family business is the best place in town to get a fresh clean look.
