Business lunch here today and as always did not disappoint. Typically eat here a couple of times a month. The pizza is the way to go, with the spicy fig jam, arugula, Prosciutto, my personal favorite.(Why doesn’t Unilocal have spell check please??) I have also had the meatball sandwich, beet salad(so yummy!), various other pizzas and today had the steak sandwich. The french fires are delicious and well cooked with a bit of seasoning. The service is always prompt and great, although our meal took a little longer than normal today to come out. And for some reason today I noticed that it is fairly loud in there, but all in all a great place to have a business meal or dinner with friends and family.

To be honest this place has no identity. It’s an Italian restaurant with signs in french, it wants to be high end and fancy, but the sports bar is in the middle of it all. There are natural trees inside the building and the music is definitely not italian. The food is meh, I got a pizza that was average and the fetuccini Alfredo was also average for the prices. The service was actually very nice that is what brings the score up! I will probably not come back, but who knows…

This was a good start with our salad and appetizer. My gnocchi was not worth what I paid. My entrée was served a red pepper infused Alfredo sauce to marshmallow gnocchi. My wife’s create her pasta was good. The service was ok. The beginning was great then it just fizzled.

Tracy provided wonderful service to go along with a great meal. The restaurant has a very cozy yet modern atmosphere with outstanding East & West mountain views. We will definitely be back!

Loved the brie appetizer! The honey complements the brie perfectly! Loved the butternut squash lasagna. They call it a «dessert» pasta for a reason — it’s quite sweet, and delicious! The roasted red pepper diavolo was also very good. Only giving this place 4 stars due to atmosphere. The food is exceptional, but it is served in a large cafeteria-style room which is too open and noisy for my taste. It also feels strange to sit on patio chairs in such a nice Italian restaurant.

Absolutely 5 star place for customer service! Deduction for the quality in food. Ordered the BBQ shrimp which was head-on and cooked mainly in oil with zero flavor. The bruschetta and gnocchi were good –not great — and had us reaching for the salt. However after a «misadventure» with the gnocchi, the manager Markus comped our entire meal. He was so attentive and apologetic and couldn’t have been a better host. He was absolutely great as was his staff They immediately remedied the situation and spoke with us calmly, asking us to give them another chance which we will gladly do. Every restaurant deserve two chances. Thank you Markus and your staff for being so great!

Background info real quick on me. I like eating out. So I eat often. At many places. I am going to give you a rundown on why I’m giving this place 4 stars.(I hope management reads this and uses it productively). 3 stars: FOOD I understand the prices for some dishes. No complaint there. It is not 5 because it did not blow me out of the water. 5 stars are reserved for special places. They did the best they could with the seafood dishes, but my crawfish was over cooked. Regardless!, the salmon dish that my mother-in-law got was spot on. She ordered it medium-well and I thought it was going to come out awful, to my surprise, I was wrong. Well done. Wife’s chicken was cooked real well. 3 stars because for a pasta dishes, the prices are a little too high, as well as the pizzas. I truly wish they would spend such technique they did on the other dishes. Funny thing: if you’re going to come here, go big. Recommend this place for good food. 4 stars: SERVICE. had a waiter, he was great, quick, and patient with members in our party. He talked a bit much, but he was a good guy who did well. Suggestion:(out of love) less words, more eloquent 2 stars: AMBIENCE. This place wants to be fine dining but at the same time be some sort of divey place. It makes no sense. My suggestion as someone who has worked in Michelin Star restaurants and has traveled the world, LOSE the TV’s. They take away from what you really want to be. Lost the TV’s and work on building a steady type of clientele. You will thank yourselves later. Overall it’s a 3 star.

Good atmosphere. The water is a little loud, but nice. The main restaurant tends to be a bit louder than the annex. Gnocchi was good. Calamari was yum. Butternut Lasagna was a bit too sweet. Probably too much like a candied yam or pumpkin pie. Server was friendly.

When I was in Salt Lake I visited Toscano and had wonderful service coupled with a excellent meal. I would recommend it to any local or tourist for that matter.

Been here several times and have always enjoyed the food. My family came here during last Christmas and we had an incredible time. I usually order the spaghetti and meat balls and always leave full. I’m a big eater too, so for the price I couldn’t complain. The setting is beautiful and great for those looking for romantic atmosphere as well. The service was good and food came out fairly quick. I recommend this place if you want some great local Italian food!

I had the gnocchi and the caprese salad, both were very delicious! My friend had the rigatoni and loved it. The service and the ambiance are great!

I love this little bistro. It’s so perfect for unwinding at the end of the day or having a nice lunch on a delightful covered, garden patio. The wine selection is good. The food is well prepared. My favorite item is the arugula, beet salad or warm beet salad. The pasta I have had here has always been good. The bocce rolls are the best I’ve ever had. Gelato is a recommended way to finish off the meal.

Great service, awesome food and food quickly on our tables as well, need I say more. They were ready to accommodate our dietary needs and we got food fast and tasty as well. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in a good Italian dinner that’s affordable

Clean, modern interior with moderately priced items. It’s a wonder this place isn’t more popular for lunch with many local businesses and their hungry employees nearby.

«Pedestrian»(read: Applebee’s/Chili’s quality food at four star prices.) Frankly I suspect that the local Chili’s or Applebee’s would have actually been a better value! Went to their ‘new’ location here on State Street with my family this afternoon. Our group of seven had attentive but slow service(blame the slow response in the kitchen and bar for that… not our waitress), cold food, and mediocre quality. My Roasted Red Pepper Rigatoni Diavolo was just… meh. I’m glad I added the ‘micro minced’ Italian Sausage to the pasta dish(to add some flavor), because otherwise the result would have been even more uninspired. My wife’s fish and chips only had two small filets on a pile of fries. The cod portions was actually fairly miniscule, and nothing to write home about. Another family member’s pasta dish came out cold, and had to be sent back to be re-tossed. All this and we were virtually one of two occupied tables in the entire place. No crowd at all. So kitchen demand was NOT a factor in today’s experience. That and the staff automatically added a 20% tip to the bill(a store policy.) Hmmmmm. Got out of there for slightly over $ 200. Patronized their old store diagonally across the 114th @ State intersection years ago, but don’t remember making a ‘note to self’ to return anytime soon. However, we gave this new location(beautiful in a minimalistic kind of way BTW) a chance today only to come away with the same lack of ‘note to self.‘ BTW, I loved the painting of Steve McQueen, but that and the handsome Quattroporte Q4 sitting out front didn’t make up for today’s unexceptional experience.

Some high points but the low points are the ones that make the difference. The restaurant has a great feel to it. Wonderful art and architecture. Service was spot on but the food was just plan bad. No flavors from herbs or spice just too salty and over priced. Ok wine list that didn’t overprice the wine like the food. I drove past an Olive Garden on the way to Toscano, stop there and get mediocre food for less money without the disappointment.
