Cheerful people. Good food. Decent wine list. On the way home. This is a place that has changed hands a lot, but maintains clean glasses and a cheese tray. Long live whatever it’s called.

I don’t really have much to say, other than the service was great. Food? Not so much. They seem to be a mash up of food offerings… sushi options on the back of the menu, along with american and Italian. They also have a bakery case? Choose one and do it well, rather than offering too much and just being OK at it.

I was so excited to visit this restaurant on my trip to Utah. It was raining so understand lay, the view of the mountains was compromised. My group ordered a round of drinks and an appetizer of nachos. The waitress said that the nachos would definitely feed the whole table of 8. This was incorrect. When it came out, we saw how small it was. It fed four people and the others just patiently waited for the dinner meals we ordered. And waited… and waited. After how fast the nachos came out, I was looking forward to quick service, but after 45 minutes of waiting for my entrée salad(the roasted peach salad,) I became frustrated. The meals finally came out, several were incorrect and needed to be altered(allergies, not snobbery) and mine was the last to arrive, 10 minutes after everyone else. A salad was the last to arrive! We asked for the check and after another 20 minute, we were able to pay. After another 10 minutes, we got our change. While waiting for our change, we stood at the table and what looked like 3 managers walked by with faces that really did not seem friendly or inviting. I was afraid to ask them for our waitress. The waitress admitted to our table that she«just learned the system» and I thought she should not be on the floor alone. The food itself was average. Not very impressed.

Holy.bad.service Completely NOT worth the food. I had to go to the hostess station to see if we even had a waiter because no one was helping us… ordered drinks… Wrong drink came, I asked for the right drink and was told«oh you told me you wanted a dirty! No need to get upset!»(I was not… yet) then our food came out before the appetizer and we were told it was out choice if we wanted to keep the entrees. Of course we did, why would we want it to go sit under heat lamps. App came and the waitress took away our sharing plates so we couldn’t share. We had to ask for steak knives because we couldn’t cut the steak with the butter knives. Oh and I’m still waiting for my right drink to come(going on 45 minutes now) Steak was very fatty, nachos were soggy *update– I asked for a manager because when I finally got my drink it was less than half full. He said he would make it right and get me a new martini. That was 10 minutes ago and he’s walking around aimlessly* DONOTCOMEHERE

Large diverse menu — so scattered with sushi, pizza, burgers, entrees, and sandwiches that I wasn’t optimistic that they would do any one thing really well. However, I have liked this place both times I’ve been. First time got sushi, this time a Cuban sandwich. Both were delicious. My husband raved about his Cliff burger. Good cocktail menu — the coconut Ciroc martini with ginger was incredible!

I don’t get the poor reviews. I’ve been twice and both times had a great experience. My most recent visit was excellent. I spent an hour or so listening to an awesome singer playing cover tunes with an acoustic guitar. Wings have the best sauce, a little spice to keep it interesting and loads of flavor! I want to give a shout out to the manager Anthony H for going above and beyond to cater to my wife and I. Will definitely be back multiple times!

I haven’t been motivated to write a review(positive or negative) about a restaurant until now. And this is definitely a negative one. My experience with the Cliff House last night was the worst. I’ve been to Cliff House numerous times and it generally has been a good experience, however, the quality has gone downhill big time recently. I took my family last night to the Cliff House for dinner. Our waiter was pleasant and friendly and that’s basically the only positive experience of the night, that and the roasted cauliflower appetizer dish. The rest of the night didn’t go well. First, my wife and I ordered 2 glasses of red wine but they brought a red and a white. Then my son ordered a burger with no onions and the burger came with, guess what, onions! My daughter’s spaghetti was cold towards the bottom of the plate; I ordered a side of soup with my dish and they gave me fries instead. The kitchen was definitely having an off night! But nothing compares to what we found on the side of my son’s dinner plate, a chewed up piece of gum!!! There was also several pieces of chewed up gum under our table — talk about unsanitary! That was a first for me! After telling our waiter about all our experiences, one would think that we’d at least get a discount on our meal, it’s almost a given. But no, we paid full price! And the Cliff House is not cheap! Needless to say, with the quality of the place going downhill, hefty price on meals, unsanitary conditions, and mediocre service, we are never going back! My advice is spend your money some place else. This is one of the worst managed restaurants I have ever been to.

The sushi was spot on, the wontonamo bay sushi rolls are the best! Great service, great food and great views. Come hang out in the bar if you want the full experience!

Always a great time at CliffHouse! They cater to all your taste buds. The CliffHouse burger was fantastic. I gravitate towards the sushi. Kermitt the frog is my favorite. Add on some great drinks, great service and live music… that’ll be sure to put a smile on your face.

on my most recent visit, my friend and i decided to sit in the bar section. i love sitting next to the window with the beautiful view! they had quite a few gluten free choices and i took awhile to decide exactly which entrée i wanted. i was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have sushi available until 5PM, so if that’s what you want, wait for dinner time. i ended up ordering the nachos with no jalapenos, no beans, and extra sour cream. my friend ordered the pear salad which salmon which looked really good. my friend loved it and raved about the salad dressing. my nachos were huge! when they came out i knew i would be taking half of it home. it was really quite yummy and a good snack to have in the middle of the day. our service was excellent! the hostess was very nice and our server was great! she came by at just the right times to check on us and made sure our wine glasses were never empty. the restaurant itself is gorgeous! even the bathroom is really nice and it feels like a high end hotel. i’ll be back again to try their sushi and other gluten food options!

I’ve eaten here a couple times. Once as a couple and once with a larger group. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was quiet and darker mood lighting. The food was good with a nice variety. The view over Draper was beautiful. Need to make another visit soon.

The restaurant and entertainment is fabulous. I love the live music on the weekends. The food is mediocre, but service is always good and friendly. It can get crowded on the weekend so come early, around 5:00 or after the dinner rush(after 9:00). I personally like the lounge side over the regular restaurant. I would skip the food and come for the night life. It attracts a little more sophisticated and older crowd. Tonight I had the sea bass, it was okay, not as good as other sea bass I’ve had. My husband ordered the short ribs and he stated they were good, but a little on the dry side. Very stylish and modern ambience, with a bit of a romantic twist. The views from the restaurant are phenomenal, you get a nice overlook of the valley.

So let me first start with a couple positives. The place looked packed based on the parking lot capacity, but as I and the wife walked in we were seated at a table available in the restaurant side, although the table felt a little out of place where it was located, by the kitchen entrance and main thoroughfare for the wait staff, we were ok with it and we were happy to be seated right away. I’m also a fan of the smaller menu, you don’t feel like you’re going to get lost in a sea of choices, and the options available on the menu all sound good. Here’s where the negative comes into play. First prices feel a bit high for the food, calling yourself a gastro pub does not in turn give you free reign to over charge. I’m not one to cry over the cost of a good meal, I’ve gladly paid more for less. That said sixteen dollars feels a bit steep, I mean they’re carne asada, not prime rib. However it’s a gastro pub so I expect to see an up charge. Now here we sit getting to the end of our meal locking in that final bite of the nachos and to my dismay bite into something strangely hard, and slightly chewy. Now my mind of course goes to worse case scenario… A fingernail I’ve just started chewing on someone’s fingernail holy sh*t! I reach into my mouth and pull out a piece of plastic… Whew!!! Not a fingernail but still a piece of plastic in my SIXTEENDOLLARNACHOS! So now we wait for the waiter, I point out the plastic to the waiter who then says to me let me go talk to the manager. Good job mister, he returns to our table and informs us that the manager is willing to take off 50% of the bill! 50%? Wtf? Apparently because I ate all the nachos this is their policy, keep in mind last bite is when I found the plastic. I let the waiter no this is unacceptable and I would like to talk with the manager myself. First bite or last bite fact remains I found a hard piece of plastic in my food! Waiter returned and they decided to go ahead and remove the nachos completely. While this is appreciated I would have liked to speak to the manager, looks like he would rather avoid a conversation with a customer. Congrats sir you are the reason for the single star. Perhaps customer service should be the emphasis here rather than packing the restaurant.

I actually been here a few times. The first few I was in the bar and had drinks and an appetizer. This time we were here with special guests so we ate in the restaurant area. We sat near the windows which had a beautiful view. All of us ordered a different menu selection. First beers. They had a very nice draft selection too. I ordered a pear salad and was very happy. I’m pretty picky. The burger looked amazing and I’ll want to come back for that. But the hit was the halibut fish and chips. My hubby is from Alaska and he knows his fish and chips and this was at the top. I did get a bit and I’ll be back that that as well. The crème brûlée was over the top with strawberries ice cream and chocolate.

We went here on a recommendation from my brother and it was amazing. The view from the windows is beautiful and the food is fantastic. I had the fish and chips and while the price is high it’s just about worth it. The Alaskan halibut is a big step up from the normal cod but for the price I’d expect a slightly larger serving and that’s what is keeping the fifth star from appearing on this review. The staff here was great and attentive without being an interruption. Once again there was a crème brûlée offered and although I’m not generally a fan of favors other than the traditional when it comes to this dessert the pumpkin version of this they offered was surprisingly delicious. We will certainly be back.

Mostly been here for Sunday brunch. Great bloody marys, and cinnamon rolls. I always get eggs benedict. Never had a problem with them, but the scotch eggs we used to love just aren’t the same so I knocked off a star(they used to be something I craved) Also went for Sushi. Sit at the sushi bar and get to know the sushi chef’s they are very friendly and will often make you rolls not on the menu with the fresh fish they got in that day

Food was good, service was slow, drinks were okay. The only reason I gave this place 4* is the amazing ramen dish I had. We will go back just to have this ramen again. We sat in the bar area and our meal took 2.5 hours. It 30 minutes just to get our check. I love moscow mules and they have a cinema mule I wanted to try. They hold your id to ensure you don’t steal the copper mug. This is absolutely ludicrous. I drank 1 mile then switched to a different drink because of this annoyance.

I’m always sad when people choose bad restaurants without asking my input. My Unilocalers rated this a 3, so the bar was pretty low. It’s a beautiful location, and the service is friendly. The Good: Raspberry Cucumber Cocktail(yes, please x2) Chicken Lettuce Wraps — pretty decent Shishito Peppers — hmmm, battered and fried, okay, decent The Very, Very, Very Bad: Halibut. I was so looking forward to a nice piece of seared halibut lightly bathed in a beurre blanc. The halibut died once already; they killed it again. It was a really large portion, for one, but cooked to utter oblivion. It was dry and tough and tasted like sadness. I asked for lemon to try to perk it up, sadly, didn’t help. The beurre blanc was off-balance, too sweet, not enough acid. The parsnip purée was lifeless. I could have done without the weird kale«bed.» It was so off-putting that it knocked the entire experience down to a 2.

Cliff House is getting four stars from me and let me explain why: 1. Food is always agreeable. Not exceptional, but always enjoyed by the entire crowd no matter the picky eaters. You can get everything from bar food, sushi, and higher end main dishes. Their menu has a good selection of LABELED gluten free dishes, and I’ve never been sick here 2. Most evenings starting around 6:30 they have a live performer. If you are sitting in the bar area it’s a really cool ambiance eating, drinking and listening to live tunes 3. For Draper, this is an out of the box establishment which I really appreciate 4. I’ve always had great service here. I know other Unilocalers seem to have had poor service but that has never been my case, and quite the opposite the 6 times I’ve been. All in all this place is a win win when you have a group of people or an intimate occasion

Very good selection of beers. We had few different appetizers, nachos, calamari and wings. They were all excellent. My main dish was the Sicilian Pizza, very taste perhaps a little to much on it but that’s the European talking here. Very friendly and attentive service
