So I was on the Unilocal hunt for a place to get a wash and blow in downtown Brooklyn /Dumbo for when I’m in the neighborhood for work… And potentially for the day of my wedding which also happens to be in the same area. Stitch and paint beauty loft came up on Unilocal and they only had a few reviews– but all such happy & great ones. I also noted that they had a website– which is always an impressive measure. I reached out via email since I’m always running around for work or on conference calls– salon owner Yaya reached out to me to connect and answer my questions. Since I had an event to go to tomorrow I decided to make an appointment fairly soon after we spoke. Arriving at the salon is fun, as you wouldn’t know it’s there but Yaya let me know enough before arriving about what to expect. Once you get to the salon, she really transformed the space into a cozy and chic place seamlessly. I’m picky about having my hair blown out without being put in rollers, and my needs were catered to without question. Followed by the blow dryer and styling wand to achieve a really polished curl that I mentioned I like. Not only did my hair come out great but Yaya is reason enough to go check out stitch and paint. She’s a golden soul. So full of life and just so kind.

When I first walked in I was taken back at how cool it looked. I was greeted by Yaya who is just fabulous and bubbly!!! Then I was offered a glass of wine! Yaya did an amazing job. I had a partial weave put in. Yaya got me the best quality hair available and it turned to amazing. She is now my go to hairstylist!!!

Fabulous — from stylist Danielle to owner Yalewa, this salon is worth my trip from Nj. The service was great, ambience grown and sexy, and wine pours as healthy as my hair has been under their care. Stitch and Paint is a girl cave perfectly located in Downtown Brooklyn near all convenient trains. I would definitely recommend a visit to this salon for anyone with natural or processed hair for blowouts, sew-ins, sets, you name it, and some great conversation. Owner, Yaya is hilarious and focuses entirely on your comfort and satisfaction.

My experience here has been unlike any other salon experience. I’m an east coast girl but I just moved to NY from LA and I can honestly say this has been one of my favorite hair experiences yet. Outside of the shop being super girly and cute, professionalism and cleanliness are two of the things that first captured my attention. All first time clients really do receive the royal treatment. I was also given a diamond facial and a nice glass of wine while I wanted, which the wait for me to sit in Yaya’s chair wasn’t very long. I’m #TeamShortHair and once I got up from the chair I was super impressed. Stitch and Paint is my new hair home.

I LOVEEEE stitch and paint! I flew into NYC on a last minute trip and I needed a professional quick weave. I went into the salon and I totally felt at home! I told my stylist Yalewa that I had dry scalp and she quickly offered me suggestions on how to handle that. The service was exceptional and the environment was professional, yet friendly.

Nice ambience. Friendly accommodating staff. I didn’t get my hair done since I’m a bald male. However I sat there with my wife while a gaggle of beautiful women were enhanced. There was laughing and happy conversation from the satisfaction of the ladies being served.. My wife is a makeup artist so I guess knows what’s best. The place is stylish sophisticated yet unstuffy. You should definitely bring your lady love here. I did and she was happy. Happy wife equal happy life.

This was my first time at Stitch and Paint Beauty Loft and it won’t be my last! There is a warm ambiance as you walk through the door. It’s Elegance is that of 5th Avenue and their hospitality is on point. My beautician Tawana, specializes in natural hair and locs, however, she is tight with short hair cuts. Fifth Avenue has come to Brooklyn!!!

I was so happy to find this gem here in the downtown area of Brooklyn. The ambiance was entirely inviting. I was going through a rough couple of days so coming here was exactly what chicken soup for the soul meant. A very relaxed and calm environment, while getting your weave done, professionally, is something you may not get in a busy downtown Brooklyn. Yet you can get this along with a glass of wine. The hairstylist is exceptionally skilled. I had a full sewn in weave done along with ombré highlights. She gave me a beautiful and totally natural look. A head full of soft beautiful waves. And they also supply the best hair. At additional cost. I will definitely return. Loving this place !!!
