We went in before the storm hit and I am soooooo glad we did!!! This may have been one of the best dining experiences i have ever had!!! I haven’t even got to the food yet. I can only say great things about this place. I had the Jerk chicken Amazing!!! The other parties had Shrimp and tilapia scampi and salmon cakes. The prices are great for the food and the owners are amazing!!! We will be going back many times. I love this place!

I wish that I could give it 10 stars! The ribs were deliciously smoked, great grits and fries. Homemade mac n cheese was very good. The red velvet waffles were like delicious clouds of awesome. The jerk chicken with rice was OUTOFTHISWORLDBANGIN !!! Oh, did I mention that the fried plantains, sweet potato fries, hush puppies and collared greens were all star quality! This place should be packed nightly. What a great find! We will definitely be back, and have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

This place is excellent for the specific food that they offer. Down right awesome! I read other reviews that talk about greasy which is interesting since many menu options are fried, slow cooked(i.e. ribs), and it is carribean/jamaican style. Yes, it has oil(aka, grease). The staff are friendly, the environment is nice with the art and décor, and the menu choices are spot on. Again, don’t go here thinking you are going to get a caesar salad, kale chips, or other. Read the menu first and decide if this is the food that you want. If so, it is 5 stars for food. I held off on 5 star rating since the service needs to continue to develop in terms of «speed». Do not go here thinking it is a rushed experience and definitely bring an extra bottle of wine… BYOB! I would also order an appetizer so that you don’t wait as long until you taste the great food. I tried the shrimp appetizer, sweet & tangy and I will always reorder this. Excellent As others have said, this is a gem in our backyard. I wish them the best especially seeing how much they care about the community and the heart and soul that they put into their cooking.

I was there recently. Ate Great jamaican food, except their jerk chicken was extra greasy. Tasted great but adding unnecessary oil to chicken destroys the authenticity. If some of the locals like unhealthy food they can give them a side of grease(after they sign a waiver for heart attack, diabetes). No wonder they call ours a fast food nation… where half the population is obese! Service is great. Great people otherwise! Hoping they’d stay for long.

Very good fried fish and chicken take out at reasonable prices. The place is still getting itself together. It only has a temporary sign in front. They have Iive Jazz on weekends with a Cover Charge of $ 5.00. The menu is limited to about one dozen dishes. It shows promise and I wish them well.

I found this place on Unilocal and thank god I did. Fantastic food, I found my new favorite food, ox-tail. So freaking good. Its still a bit of a secret place so I’m kind of hesitant to even promote it, I want it all to myself. Yet it needs more business so it doesn’t close, lol. All the sides are awesome I recommend the cabbage. I don’t even like mac n cheese but theirs was excellent. It’s in the acme shopping center.

Great meal with friendly service! My husband had the tilapia on rice w two sides(sweet potatoes and green beans). He said tilapia was extremely tasty, spicy delicious! I had Carribean jerk burger w fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was the best I have ever tasted(a little spicy!), fries were done right, as well as burger. It was a nice, home cooked meal-thanks! Also, they accepted my certificate-I appreciate that!

Excellent meal! We had the ribs, tilapia scampi, and the mixed platter. Every entrée and all the sides were delicious. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is cute/casual. Just be prepared to wait because it did take quite awhile to get our food. I’ll definitely be back but I’ll call my order in ahead

My friend and I went here for lunch because she was craving some good old soul food. I haven’t ever eaten soul food so I thought I’d give it a try. We started off with a basket of hush puppies that tasted surprisingly good even though I was positive I wouldn’t like them because they’re fried. My friend said she’s never had sweet hush puppies before, but she liked these quite a bit as well. We both got BBQ burgers, which while good doesn’t strike me as soul food, but, hey, I don’t really know what I’m talking about. We shared four sides between us – collard greens, sweet potato fries, potato salad, Jamaican rice and peas — each was delicious. I especially liked the vinegar taste of the collard greens. The only reason I didn’t rate this restaurant a 5 was because the service was a bit slow, and we were literally the only two people in the restaurant for the two hours we were there. I hope the place can make a go of it because it was quite good.

The food is absolutely great! Everything on the menu is delish. I didn’t give 5 stars because of the service. DONOTGOTHEREHUNGRY! I’ve seen others wait a long time for their takeout so I called ahead to place my order to pickup. I was told 20−30mins, I received my food 2hrs from the time I called! I have returned ONLY because the food was so good. However, It takes too long to get your food. I think they cook the food as you order. Otherwise, good soul food!

I just went here today for my birthday lunch. Not only was the mac & cheese and potato salad some of the best I’ve ever had, but the service was amazing. Robert sang me some birthday tunes with his beautiful voice. That made me feel so special. this place is a hidden gem!

My wife and I just stopped in and ate a delicious meal! She had the coconut ginger halibut with collard greens and rice with beans. I had slow smoked barbecue chicken and ribs with collard greens and coleslaw. They were out of hush puppies(which are normally my favorite), but it was actually to our benefit, because we got to try some delicious fried cornbread instead! The staff is very nice and the portions are generous. We would highly recommend Filet Of Soul to anyone who loves good soul food! We will be back next Saturday for some great food and live jazz.

My wife and I celebrated here for Valentines day. The 4 course dinner was great. Salad with conch fritter to start. Lobster Mac and Cheese was excellent. The entrees where special for Valentines. I had ox-tail and my wife had a cornish game hen. Both where very good with great Carribean seasoning. Dessert was a layered chocolate cake with cream between layers. I will definitely be back again.

Lunch on a saturday. This is a soul food restaurant, in a shopping center, which I think just recently opened. I ordered the fish and shrimp scampi upon the recommendation of the server. The platter came with two sides. I ordered cabbage and sweet potatoes. Hubby ordered the fried catfish with cabbage and potato salad. The server brought out warm hushpuppies while we waited for our food. The hushpuppies were sprinkled with powdered sugar, and reminded me more of New Orleans style beignets. Our meals arrived promptly. The portion sizes were generous. The cabbage was delish, the sweet potatoes were yummy, the potato salad was on point. The shrimp in the scampi were huge, and there were at least three of them, plus a large piece of fish in a buttery sauce. I wish that they offered either rice or pasta with the scampi to go with the delicious sauce. I will be back.
