0 stars!!! I don’t know if it’s just this Bartender working today because she’s the only one but she’s VERY RUDE!!! I walked in and walk right up to her and she looked past me to her friend and she went to go meet her friend at the end of the bar and so I walked to the end of the bar and she continued talking to her friend ignoring me. FUCK THIS PLACE!!!

A fun little bar, I happen to come here on a Tuesday night so got to enjoy the live karaōke entertainment. Drinks are pretty cheap and they have a full bar. Everyone seemed friendly and the place is definitely lively. It is a good place to forget your problems and just enjoy yourself.

This is the type of bar you want to go to if you went to High School in Downey and you want to relive the glory days of years past, because that’s the type of crowd you will run into. The drinks aren’t anything to write home about either. Also, If you are looking for a broader or even more cultured crowd this is definitely not the bar for you. I personally would never go back and I live a couple of blocks from it, which is unfortunate because it would have been perfect considering the distance.

only been here once as my friend really wanted to go here, guess its her home bar’, it was ok lots of different beers and mixed drinks /​I can not comment on the prices as my friend took me here for a birthday drink so guessing its not too bad and the bar staff is pretty cool at making almost any drink upon request, it has jukebox, pool tables and TV’s with sports on in the back round, its a cool place, little small but as a bar it works for a comfy drink on the weekend.

What can i say the glen is the best bar in downey if you are looking for good cheap drinks this is the place where you wont pay 9 $ for a Jack n coke all of the bartenders and bar backs will give you service with a smile.
If you are looking for food to go along with your drinks the corner burger place de Called stewart and grub will deliver your food to the bar

I am a regular at this bar, from many years ago… before they remodeled the place up. I go back to the «Cash Only» days. I recently found out that I cannot buy a drink/​shot to my bartender (s). After a hard work’s night, I like to come to the near by that has that «home» and local feel. Why go to a corporate bar, when I can gladly support my local bar? These bartenders bust their @$$ off and they too deserve a drink. They deal with so much on a daily basis, and they always take care of me on a professional level. Buying my bartender, whether that might be Carlos, Lily, Johnny, or whoever, a drink; it’s the very least I can do! Everything will be gravy if I can buy my bartender a drink! Don’t take that away from hard working individuals.

Great local bar. I’ve become a regular at this place, usually there 1 – 2 times a week. The staff is great, Carlos, Johnny, Natalie, Stephanie, Coby, Karina and the rest of the team are superb. The staff do an awesome job of making sure all their patrons feel welcomed and have a great time. The drinks are awesome. The only bad thing is now we can’t buy drinks for the bartenders which sucks since it’s nice to be able to cheer with your favorite bartenders.
The only other bad things about this place, which I guess it’s out of their control is… parking sucks, especially on Friday and Saturday nights… only one restroom for the women, so there’s always a line… and the fact that pool is allowed during Friday/​Saturday nights when it’s the most busiest. Don’t get me wrong I love playing pool, but sometimes it can be a pain to try to maneuver around people and pool sticks.
Again the staff is awesome, hopefully we’ll be able to celebrate with them again over a drink.

This bar is great… BUT I was offended when I found out I couldn’t buy my bartender a drink any longer. This is a local bar and it feels like home! I’ve bought them a drink or a shot before and they’ve always been really professional after. It’s more of an action of appreciation to what they do and go thru. Things are starting to change and I really don’t agree with the new changes. You guys will lose a customer if things continue this way if things stay the same. Let me take care of my bartender the way they take care of me and appreciate my business! I surely appreciate what they do and their business. It’s more of a old fashioned culture more than anything.

I love this bar but apparently I can’t buy my bartenders drinks anymore it sucks cause that’s how I show my patronage. These bartenders are always great I’ve never had a bad experience till I was told I can’t show the love.

Seriously one of the best bars I’ve been to in a long time. Loved the prices and the Jukebox. Everyone was very friendly and drinks where great too. Thanks to Rosie for the warm welcome. We will be back again.

My wife and I usually stick to the bars in downtown Downey, but we wanted to try something new. Went to the The Glen on a Friday night and we immediated sat right at the bar. The place was great. The bartenders were very friendly. Great drinks, great prices.
We will definitly be coming back.

I knew there was a good reason why I resided in Downey and had never visited The Glen.
The positives:
1. free entry
2. no line
3. relaxed dress code
The negatives:
1. music (old 90s and early 2000s hip hop music mixed in terribly)
2. «grimey» vibe of the place (sweaty people all over the place)
3. restroom (long line to restroom as there is only one stall per restroom)
4. some of the bartenders.
***Note: If you leave an open tab with the bar, double check your bill at the end of the night as there does not seem to be a very good system in place for charging the right things to the right patrons. This happened to me and this EXTRA charging seems to happen to many others. I think the bartenders fail to cut people off, so people get extremely drunk and then bartenders charge extra.
Luckily, during my experience, my friend and I had arrived at 1am. We each got two beers. Bar was packed. At 1:45am, I got my bill back and had been charged: 4 beers (which was right), 2 Yeager Shots and a bucket of something. My bill was almost triple what it should have been. When I told the bartender, he played stupid. I spoke to another bartender and demanded they charge me the right amount. Being that my friend and I only weigh approximately 125 lbs each, if we truly would have drank everything I was charged for, we would have been stumbling out of the place. Finally the other bartender fixed the bill. I still left a tip to my rude bartender because he worked hard. But NEVER AGAIN.
I realize that my review is subjective based on my experience and preference. You should know that I prefer to party and lounge in areas that have a bigger and more modern feel to them. If you are the same, then this place is NOT for you.

This place is extremely nasty and boring. Starting with the Dj, has no taste of music, just let the juke box play… and the restroom is disgusting. The drinks are ok… A lot of fat ladies who think are hot though haha

They got a dj certain nights and it’s often a packed house on weekends. Once we waited in like for 20 min to get in around 12. It’s pretty annoying that there’s a $ 15 minimum charge on debit cards. Please change that.
Also one time I ordered a jäger bomb and they handed me a jäger, and they didn’t replace it. The service should’ve been better.
The first time I came here, there were old Mexican films playing on their TVs. That, coupled with all the Latino dodger fans inside, made it a cool, almost cultural experience, which I appreciate as a minority. Since then, the few times I’ve gone, it’s been less interesting. Pool tables, bumping music, and some good beers on tap make this place worth checking out, but it can definitely be improved.

What can I say, I dig this place. Been here numerous times and I get that good times feel. Almost like cheers where everybody knows your name. Carlos and Karina always great me with a smile or a comment like they are my best bud or my big sister. This is what a neighborhood bar is supposed to be like.
They always seem to have new beers on tap when I come in. I may not have heard of all of them but they are usually pretty good when I try them. Plus everything is very affordable. Daily specials too, can’t beat $ 5 Jameson or $ 3 vodka cran.
Needless to say, I will be back

I use to come her a long time ago it used to be alright they had a jukebox & it was usually empty & chill. Not a bad place to get a drink if your a local.
What the fuck happened…
Came in on Saturday night just to hang with a friend & have a drink but this place was mega crowded!!! & gross
It screamed «chunti everywhere» they had loud obnoxious DJ, desperate women dress like if they were at some «quceanera» & the man looked desperate looking to fuck anything I felt like a piece of meat! It was just absolutely trash!!! I did not last not 20mins in there I told my friend we had to leave ASAP!!!
Avoid this place unless this is your crowd & you don’t mind stds or aids than welcome in!
