I did not like the service at all my friends and I went to see the Mexico Game and the hostesses were a pain they kept on looking at us and talking about us! They even made us buy a bottle in order to have a booth. Then they told us after the game that we had to step outside take out our Mexico shirts and HAVE to make line to re-enter inside!!! We even had to buy another bottle to be able to have the booth again so we just left right after the game!!! There was no point on waisting OUR money on them!!! We didn’t like the service at all or their stupid rules!!!

We like this place bc of the music but seriously, the«special» drinks suck(martinis that cost 13 bucks) and the major suck factor is that we were in there already and had spent $ 30 on drinks, danced up a storm and my gf wanted to get out of her sandal wedges so we went back to her car so she could put on sandals. Not slippers, not flip flops, but cute ass SANDALS. And we were denied of coming back in bc we were wearing SANDALS. Mind you we looked cute in our dresses but I guess we weren’t in dress code bc we were wearing SANDALS. Thanks Josephs. You kind of officially suck now. #sandaldiscrimination

Service is weak. Food is mediocre at best. Nothing original about this place. Overpriced and overhyped. That’s about all the time I will spend on this review.

omg i love it here drinks are sooooo good the michis are good the wings are good. I love how they can just bring the hookahs right over from across the street. The music is nice. Its a very nice place to watch football and drink have a couple of laughs with friends.

The service overall here was horrible, the place is clean and nice reguardless of my sticky table, my beer was watery, I didnt even want to bother with the food. The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is because my waitress was very sweet and she attended us with a wonderful smile and that deserves a one star. Overall the employees here are slow and theyre always talking instead of attending customers.

I love this place. I haven’t tried the food but there drinks are good the music is great. The only thing is too small so it gets crowded to get the drinks but the bartenders seem to have a fast pace

It was easy getting in only waited 5 minutes. The bar area is a total havoc, I waited 25 Minutes to get one drink. The bartender discriminated me, she helped everyone around except one other patron and me. I asked the bar back for help and he said wait for the bartenders. I kept waving the bartenders down and not a single time did they help me. The ambience is pretty cool they play good music and the crowd seems pretty chill.

We just went in for a bottle of wine and thats exactly what we got. We ordered the bottle and it was delivered and he poured the first glasses, but that was it. He never touched the bottle again. I don’t want to seem like a wine snob, but I think when I order a bottle of wine, if I am supposed to tip on the bottle price, the server should be pouring it. It was really noisy and the guy at the table next to us was singing out loud songs that were not playing and he didn’t know the lyrics. Overall, I guess based on my experience here, its not likely that we’ll be back. There are too many other places to go.

Love this place. I don’t go to bars often, but this place is one I enjoy going to. The food is delicious and the drinks are too. When evening comes around, they have a DJ, really good ones too.

I have to say I really like this place. I underestimated it completely. I had never been before, and going off the name Joseph’s I didn’t think much into it. Went with a group of friends, both male and female on a Friday night; and dressed on the casual side. Completely felt underdressed wearing jeans, leather boots and a top. People were dressed more on the upside, though there were a handful of others dressed down like myself. so I wasn’t alone. But definitely took a mental note for next time. The vibe was cool, we had bottle service and as more friends arrived, they were accommodating and added more chairs and another table. Around 10:30, 11 it really got jumpin. Good music, good energy. No drama, no ghetto vibes. The dancefloor is small, and gets really packed. But it was all good, tons of good energy. Could have danced all night. Based on the vibe, the drinks, the music, and the ambiance, I will definitely be going back.

Tried this place again… bad idea. The bouncers are still assholes. I was interrogated regarding my ID yet again and they also gave me a hard time because I was wearing sandals. Apparently sandals violate their dress code but they let me «slide» because I didn’t know. Either way, I was gone in less than 5 minutes.

Food was fine – our group had steak salads and a French dip. They were edible but nothing that would bring me back to this spot. The service, however, was awful. Our appetizers came out after our entrees; the server gave one of my friends attitude about it rather than being sincerely apologetic. Though they did take off the appetizers from the bill, the wait time thereafter felt purposely passive aggressive as we were ignored(despite only 6 other tables were seated for dinner) for another 30 – 45 minutes waiting for our bill. Downey has more restaurants available that are worth your time. Bastards, Lock and Key, or even the chain restaurants will give you a better experience.

I can’t say anything about their food since they closed the kitchen when I got there. You’d figure that with the word Grill in their name they would keep their kitchen open late. The ambiance was okay. Went on a Friday night and a DJ played some good tunes but the place is too small to keep everyone on the bar area since the table area becomes bottle service after a certain hour. The«dance floor» is also pretty small. Bartenders took way too long serve drinks especially if the bar is busy they should speed up a little and the drinks were pretty weak over all. Glad I got to experience it so I know not to return.

The vibe here is always Fun, always a good crowd of people. The Food and Appetizers are really delicious, I had the grilled chicken breast with mushroom and it comes with two sides! I highly recommend this dish. They also have good Djs that play after 930 pm, Only bad thing is the service! Always a disappointment, the numerous of times I’ve been here the service is always slow, so that’s why I give 3 stars, if the service would improve I would definitely update my review

Oh Veronica, she’s the best waitress with the best service! Came here to watch football with some friends and found the food and drinks to be moderately priced. Food was a lot more for my value compared to places such as Buffalo Wild Wings and definitely would come back again especially with all the TV’s!

We’ve been here quite a few times and we have to say that today is the best time we’ve had at Joseph’s. My bf and I have been coming here occasionally since its inception. The food is always great, as we keep it simple with wings and burgers. Today’s order was on point, the food came out promptly and our server Sal was extremely attentive. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area who wants some good grub and some good service.(Ask for Sal!)

If I could give ½ star I would. This review is based on 5 visits. We keep coming back for some reason and giving it another try. I’ve been here during the weekday at lunch, weekday dinner & weekend night. Each time it just sucks! From flat beer to dirty cups and horrible service. This really is our last attempt. Will not come here again! I really would love to have a nice place to dine at in downtown Downey with outdoor seating. Hopefully this place will go under soon and a new restaurant comes in. Oh yeah… and it’s WAY over priced! Seriously $ 180 for a bottle of fireball??? LoL, get over yourself Joseph…

The first time I visited, me and friends had to walk out and go to Bastards for drinks due to the service being terrible behind the bar. Waiting almost half an hour and not giving a single order is pretty bad. However, I didn’t completely turn my back on Josephs and have returned a couple of times after getting better service which each visit. Not completely excellent but not bad either. What is excellent is the food and its because of this I’m happy I gave this place another shot. Every dish I’ve had here has not failed me. The chile relleno burger is delicious and words cannot even describe how good the chorizo mac and cheese is. Its quite dangerous in my opinion because I’d break diet on any occasion for that mac n cheese lol. I’m also a fan of the pizza and the stuffed jalapenos. I like my stuffed jalapenos spicy and Joesph’s provides the heat as well a great blend of chicken, cheese and bacon to go along with it. The beers are nice and cold as well. Finally got the chance to have one on my third visit. My second visit was strictly food. The service can most definitely use work but can get better with proper training and enforcement. The food is excellent which brings my rating to a three… for now at least. Dinner 9÷1÷2014 and Lunch 1÷11÷2015
