El 7 Mares Express

I’ve been disappointed too many times lately with the poor quality fish and shrimp tacos they put out on Wednesdays and Monday’s respectively. Place used to have a higher standard of quality. I stopped coming here.

Great place to eat. Nice people you always feel welcome. Food is great. Service is great.

Very good shrimp cocktails and even better now that they have two locations next to each other. One for when you wanna be in and out really quick and the other one is somewhere to take a date and have drinks. Really nice but service and food is on point so makes it a nice experience

I am here at the sit down restaurant… service IS HORRIBLE the waitress is just hanging out at the register. Only 3 other tables with people and 1 group is already done eating. Our plates didn’t come out at the same so my plate was cold by the time they all arrived. No one is asking if we need drinks or anything else. Once we got our order in for another drink the waitress left the old cups so our table was over stuffed. Waitress has an attitude. NEVER coming again. Stay away!!!

Up until about 6 months ago, seafood was fresh and pretty good. Have been coming since it opened but am so disappointed by the change in quality. Bought a shrimp cocktail and ceviche tostada today… bordered on spoiled.

This is far from being an authentic mariscos my tostada mixta looked like everything was from a can. The caldo de pescado had little to no flavor I will never be coming again.

Omg! This is the best I mean the best place their food is absolutely awesome! We order shrimp and 7mares cocktails, so now we’re back for ceviche tray and OMG they gave us everything including a tapatio hot sauce. What place treats their customers like royalty at least that’s how they have made us feel

First time here;
I ordered the #3 which is two shrimp tacos, 1 drink, salsa. My bf ordered the same thing with a side of a shrimp taco.
They gave us two drinks but only one side of chips. We both ordered the same thing. They should of gave us both a side of chips. Anyways. On none of the tables there are no napkin dispensers. That’s pretty odd.
Our food was brought to our table.
We got 1 lemon per taco. I love LEMON and that is not enough. but I didn’t want to make a big deal
Other than that, tacos were ok.
Tortillas are hand mad.

The new sit down restaurants is really nice and classy… food is great and service is wonderful.
Great place to come on a date or hang out with friends and family

I was having their seafood quite often… until recently.
I’m HUGE seafood fan and this place had made my list of good seafood but that has changed. I spent around $ 30 on ceviche de pescado (fish ceviche) and the entire thing was just so bland. I had spent all week craving the damn thing only to get a huge batch of pretty nasty stuff. Would I go back? yeah, for their tacos (whenever I crave them) but not for the seafood (which was the main reason I went there, it was close to home and the price was right).
Time to search for another good ceviche spot.

The Express is good, but they just opened a new «sit down» place directly across the street. It’s clean and comfortable with great Mexican Seafood. The portions are large and the service is good. But the tone on the door opener is obnoxious. But great food.

Great authentic ceviche! The employees are super friendly and everything on the menu is delicious. One of my favorite places to eat!

Great place for good cheap Mexican seafood. Hole in the wall type. I usually get the shrimp cocktail, fish and shrimp tacos. It’s Baha style. 99 cents shrimp tacos on Monday.

My husband and I wanted to try this place forever so we decided to try it on a Monday we took advantage of the $ 1 shrimp tacos…
We were really excited since it had good reviews. However, we were a lil disappointed that the food didn’t taste as good as we thought it would… Despite this they have great customer service. I guess their $ 1 deals are good deals…
I don’t know, most likely we will not be back…

I usually come here during Lent. Place have been pretty clean but always warm. I thought by now the can afford a air conditioning unit.
Today I had the combo plate, which is 3 shrimp a long piece of cod fish with fries and a side of salad and white rice. The only thing I did not like about the plate was the rice a bit soggy.
The person taking my order; there are two and have given my order to both of them, has always been nice and helpful. Both of them
In short, great for take out but if decide to dine in, be sure to wear light clothes.

I’m reading these reviews in shock… Overly seasoned ceviche, rubbery shrimp, mediocre customer service. I’ve come here multiple times because it is walking distance from my house, I am constantly disappointed

A small place but very clean and delicious.
I enjoyed the ceviche. If the ceviche would have
had cucumbers I would have given them all the stars.

I was craving for some ceviche and a friend recommended this place. It’s a small restaurant type establishment sitting next to an old unused lot.
The set up here is very basic and nothing special. You have your tables and your bar stools to sit on. You order your meal and they drop it off at your table.
My friend ordered the cooked shrimp ceviche. I honestly didn’t care for it too much. It was good but nothing to take home and speak about. I ordered the aguachile and I enjoyed it but it was missing an element that I can’t put a finger on. The only thing that irked me was the shrimp was butterflied but the gut was not removed and I had to remove it before I ate them. The amount of chile in my ceviche was good and the tostada that came with it was tasty as well. There was no grease and it was crunchy.
The portion size is fair and you get what you pay for. The staff are friendly and the eating area is clean. This establishment also make party platter.

Food is delicious and inexpensive!

I’d love to only give this place 3.5 but since there are no halves 4 it must be.
I used to come here often for mariscos because it is close to home. But this is my first time back in quite awhile. This place is small and tonight was quite empty, surprisingly because it is usually bustling with customers. They do have a very small parking lot and my truck barely fit. I think I even tapped the wall with my bumper! Oops!!! Well back to the food!
They have many combos for your dining pleasure. Prices are pretty reasonable. Tonight I ordered the #4 with a drink for $ 5.99 which consists of:
tostada de camaron (shrimp)
tostada de pescado (fish)
chips & salsa
I also ordered one taco de camaron (shrimp)
The drinks that come with their combos are fountain drinks, they even have horchata, orange bang, and jamaica which was kinda a turn off for me because I love freshly made. But even if I wanted it they were out. So she offered me a can soda instead. I ordered it to go this time. And when I did get home I was pretty surprised they had provided more than enough ceviche to feed not only myself but someone else as well. I packed that tostada and there was more than half a container full of ceviche left. The taco was quite yummy as well. I’m not too thrilled with their salsa though. It’s a good thing I make my own. A combination of my salsa and limon on the shrimp taco was utter delight to my palate!
They do have taco specials on certain days. As there aren’t too many other mariscos spots in Downey I’d come back.
