Bob Carter’s does a great job. With two teenagers, I have been a frequent customer and have never been disappointed. They have worked on my Toyota Rav and my Porsche 911 which got scratched in a parking lot. High quality work.

Nice people as well.

My wife brought her car in. They did not fix the issue. In fact they broke something not broken before. They cannot fix what they broke. Now we have 2 problems. Never again.

Nobody wants to have to take their car to get body work done. But the guys at Bob Carter’s make it as painless as possible. Professional, friendly, easy! What more could you ask for. Probably the best auto body experience I have had in my 45 years of driving. Go here first and you will not be disappointed. They just did a great job on my daughter’s car, her pride and joy. It was even ready a day early!

I love my car and I love to go to car shows but I had a problem with my car I had a rust but when I went to Bob Carter autobody they did a fabulous job on my Mitsubishi Evolution 8… If you need help on your car and you love to go to car shows!!! Go to their shop great people!!!

Dropped my car to be services this morning. I was waiting for over a hour to be picked up by my rental car company. When an employee saw that I had waited that long, he gave me a ride to the rental car agency. I was very appreciative that he went out of his way to drop me off.
Also side note– don’t rent from Enterprise Downers grove.

Just like everyone else that goes to Bob Carter, Im giving them 5 stars. I had my hood repainted there after some Dbag kids hit it with eggs. I came for an estimate based on the great Unilocal reviews. I also got another estimate from another shop. Bob Carter was slightly higher but their estimator was great and the shop looked good. Also, quite a few cars in there, so others must trust them too.
I got my black hood repainted and had the car back in less than 24 hrs. Beautiful work, looks new. The body shop tech walked me out and showed me exactly what he did, explained proper care for my new paint. I could not be happier.
If you need body work, go to Bob Carter. You may find one a bit cheaper but you also get what you pay for. Anything else happens to my car, im going back. This will be my body shop.

Went there after my first accident for an estimate and to have my front end pulled out, and left happier than I could have thought Mike even assured me that I could come by for a readjustment whenever, free of charge. Kind, courteous, and quick, Bob Carter’s will become my go-​to body shop for any and all needs. They put me and my wallet at ease.

Had some good experiences with Bob Carters on my vehicle, but have noticed that when my wife goes in for an estimate they always quote her really high figures. Tried calling to see if I could get an explanation from Bob as to why 3 little door dings and some scratched wheels would cost $ 1700 when only $ 270 of this was parts, and Bob couldn’t give me any real answer. His estimate included 13 hours of labor, and it is extremely hard to believe there is 13 hours of labor in these small superficial repairs. Wreck & Roll in the city will charge us less than half what Bob is quoting. Can’t help wondering what they’d have quoted us if I took the vehicle in instead of my wife. Hate to say, but really think the estimate would have been more in line with expectation if I had. Extremely disappointed in these guys either way.

This place is a great place to take your car for body repairs. I had some minor damage on my car and took it in for an estimate. I got a quote that was a good amount less than other places and the time estimated for the repair was three days less than the competition as well.
Car was picked up yesterday and you would not have known anything ever happened to it. The repair was flawless and I couldn’t be happier. Car was delivered right at the time promised and the cost was as quoted.
The staff is very professional and straightforward. Bob Carter’s Autobody has a new loyal customer and I’ll be referring friends and family to the shop as well.

I purchased a Unilocal coupon to Bob’s for minor repair work to two door handles.
I had read the reviews on Unilocal and felt confident scheduling service here. The reviews on here are 100% accurate. The guys here are awesome. My work only ran a couple hundred bucks most likely peanuts compared to big collision jobs Bob’s handles. But nevertheless my job was treated as any other, the service was top notch. The guys (josh) were great working with by phone and email, they reliably worked to order parts, explain the process, and schedule the fix. Overall, these folks are how business should be done, its rare, but I was GLAD to pay for a job well done. As a Downers Grove resident I hope to send them more business, they deserve it.

I can’t begin to explain how wonderful this place is! I am from out of town and didn’t know a reliable body shop to fix my car. I am so glad I found Bob Carter’s on Unilocal,because they completely exceeded my expectations!
I was involved in a minor accident so I took my car here. From the start, I could tell their employees had my best interests in mind. They were honest, communicated well with me, and made sure the whole process with my car ran smoothly. My car was fixed in a timely manner, and everyone I encountered was very professional.
A few days after getting my car back, I noticed the replacement part was faulty. I called Bob Carter’s and told them, and they had me bring back my car as soon as they got the new replacement part in. They made it a point to make sure that I was completely satisfied before leaving. The service was truly outstanding from start to finish. My car looks great again, and if I need a body shop again, I will be sure to take it back here!

So one day on my way into work my low pressure tire light came on. I stopped at 3 gas stations to put air in my tires in the pouring rain… first one had no air, second one air was out of service and the third one I put air in my tire, but without a tire pressure gauge I had no idea of whether or not I put enough air in.
Anyways I decided just to stop at this garage and have a «professional» check my tires. This was of course after I had stopped at Hi Tech down the block and was treated like crap… the guy who helped me here was polite and courteous. He checked my tires and filled them with air while I waited inside during the pouring rain. I offered him cash for his services and he refused stating just please keep us in mind if you ever need auto repairs! Awesome customer service in my book!

Great Service! Within 2.5 hours I made an appointment, brought my car and part in, and was driving off the lot with complete satisfaction. Knowledgeable staff gave me a great quote over the phone, & followed up with speedy, quality service. Even went out of their way to check to make sure my fluids were not leaking anything crucial. (My oil change service provider didn’t tighten up as well as they should have)… You will not be disappointed after taking your vehicle this body shop!

One of the most stressful things about owning a new car is living in fear that something is going to happen to it. A year after buying our beautiful, wonderful, BEAUTIFUL new-​ish car, my boyfriend got into a fender bender (or a an entire side panel (s) bender on a Ford Explorer). Our car was beautiful no more. A friend recommended Bob Carter’s Autobody to us, and we are really impressed. From the moment we got our estimate to the moment we picked our car up, they put us at ease. What could have been a super stressful ordeal, wound up being easy. Our car is beautiful again… the work was impeccable, the services was quick, and the customer service was out of this world. I am hoping we never need to go back, but we would recommend Bob Carter’s to anyone that finds themselves in need of body work.

We shopped around for different estimates when deciding to get our front bumper fixed: Bob was the most professional and competitive estimate that we got; service was prompt, efficient and the final product is excellent (they even went above and beyond and buffed out some scratches in the front). These are people who clearly take great pride in the work they do. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking to get work done on their car.

I am absolutely in love with this place. My car got hit at COD about a month ago and I debated on whether or not to fix it. Basically while I was in class someone hit my door with their door it looks like, the driver’s side door was bent in and had a two inch by two inch spot that lost paint. I decided to get it fixed because I’m super picky and it’s only a three year old car.
I ended up Bob Carter’s after seeing how close it was to my work and the great reviews on Unilocal (which I now see why!) They estimated my car at $ 630 but they work directly with insurance, (I have State Farm.) So I just had to pay them a deductible. They told me it would take three days and there was no way I could go three days without my car so I decided to pass. Then after finding out a way to get a vehicle for a few days I called them back two weeks later, they were now completely booked for the upcoming week but squeezed me in anyways and then when I asked if they could also do an oil change, they did. They are so nice here and very honest, you don’t feel like you’re getting ripped off like you do many other places.
I got my car back yesterday and it looks beautiful, you can’t even see anything ever happened and all the seems still match up. The paint is a perfect match as well. Anyways, point is I hope my car won’t get hit again, but if it does it’s nice to know an honest place to take it to where they do amazing work and truly care about their customers!

Stellar work and awesome customer service. My wife’s 2006 Acura TSX was damaged pretty bad from a hit & run, and we found these guys on the State Farm database. I’ve had work done at Gerber before on 2 of my cars, but their customer service just didnt FEEL right. I wanted something new, so I cross-​referenced our findings with Unilocal reviews, and these guys were one of the best in the area.
I didnt know if I should just sell the car or have it repaired. We had no idea how to approach this at first, but Mike Carter explained a few options clearly, concisely, and patiently. He even opted to buy the car off of us. We ended up choosing to get it repaired.
When we arrived to finally pick up the car a few weeks later, he showed us some pics of the progress and it was very informational. They also wrote down our radio and navigation codes on the service log for quick reference. It’s those little things that impress me! As for the body work itself, it was pretty damn good. We were thinking of trading in the car after work started, but now my wife wants to keep it since her TSX looks so sexy again. Hahah
If you need body work done, these cats get the job done and DONE WELL. The customer service was the icing on the cake. Dont hate. Regulate.

Bob Carter’s Auto Body is an all-​around fantastic body shop. I chose them to replace my front and back bumpers after accidents, and reattach my side moldings. Kind, honest customer service is always important but especially when you are distressed after an accident. Bob Carter’s team has always been trustworthy and considerate during these tough times. You can bring your car in without an appointment and they will check it out and give an estimate. In fact, for my side moldings job they performed the work the same day. The prices have been reasonable and fair, and they will communicate with your insurance company. After my car leaves this shop, it looks as good as new. Check them out; they do great work and are pleasant to deal with.

I went to 2 other auto body repair shops in the area and they refused to give an estimate for the rust on my right rear fender since they couldn’t guarantee the work. I also asked for an estimate on the hood replacement which they did. Bob’s was the only one who would give me an estimate on both. After going inside to receive the estimate, I noticed from the pictures it was Bob Carter himself who gave my estimate. The replacement for my hood was cheaper than others since they were able to find a similar part for cheaper although they were willing to use an OEM, like the other shops. Considering it was simply a hood and they were going to paint it, I understood their decision. I went to 2 additional places for estimates who also refused to survey the rust so I went back to Bob’s.
I called them and told them I would drop it off the next morning. They said it would take less than 3 days. Sure enough, just 2 days later, they gave me a call to let me know it was complete. When I picked it up the following morning, the fender looked like new and I drive a 1997 vehicle. The hood paint blended with the front fenders and when I opened it up, they took care of the underside as well. In addition, they fixed up a few other minor repairs I hadn’t gotten around to. My co-​worker who dropped me off said she never saw me smile so big. Other friends who checked it out were impressed by the job as well. I truly couldn’t have been happier and the staff when I picked it up were very friendly and were talking about the car in general as I waited for them to bring it out. It’s a local business that provides great service at great prices!
