This store has everything a party girl needs. Vodka at 11:00am on Sunday. Check. Fried chicken on Friday afternoon? Check. Whole bean coffee? Yes. Pineapple jello salad like my great auntie’s used to make in Kansas? You bet! The store has gotten better and better as the years go on. Small town charm with plenty of parking. Winner.

Run of the mill grocery. Decent beer and wine selection. Decent friend food section. Disappointed in meat. Ground beef was grey. Maybe find a better meat counter somewhere else.

My sister and her family live pretty close to Douglas so I’ve been here many times over the years. The selection of items in this grocery store is real good for such a small town. On my most recent visit I was needing some over the counter medicine and was surprised at the size of the selection they had available. I was only expecting maybe one third of what they actually have so it was a very pleasant surprise to actually find exactly what I needed. The best thing this store has going for it is it’s employees. Over the years I’ve always received nothing but friendly and helpful service. I haven’t personally met the owners(although I probably have at some point interacted with them and didn’t realize who they were) but my sister has told me they are pretty awesome people too. Yes, it’s a small town so you’ll pay a little more than say at Walmart, but it’s worth it to not have to drive a half hour to the nearest bigger city not to mention it’s nice to support local businesses especially when they provide such good service.

I would give 10 stars if I could! Planning a wedding long distance is no easy task. Dave was super patient and helpful throughout the process for buying beer and beverages for our welcome party and reception. Dottie’s sandwiches were a huge hit at the welcome party – fresh and delicious! A perfect example of great customer service and very much appreciated!!!

Good selection of adult beverages, decent selection of most everything else. Keep in mind that this is a seasonal town, so you will pay a little more for almost everything. In the summer, they’ll cart your large grocery shops out to the car for you too!

I was in town for the week end… and you know there is always the damn I forgot the * and the * so go to the closest and maybe only supermarket around. They also have a good selections of beer, and other alcoholic drinks to have the party going. They are well stocked and customer service is super nice. The place is nice and clean and prices are ok for the location.

I believe this was the only real supermarket that we saw while in Douglas/Saugatuk. What distinguishes this place from other supermarkets is that they have service people that specifically carry your groceries to your car. I thought that was an excellent touch to the shopping experience. Most supermarkets in the big city don’t do that. I think these service people are obviously trying to earn a good tip and why couldn’t I think of such a novel concept? This supermarket does have everything you need. I think the prices seem to be reasonable here. It was apparent that we were not the only visitors in the Douglas/Saugatuk area. There were lots of eye candy roaming around the store so that even made it better.
