Came from Thailand to visit a family and had lunch here. The pizza and desserts tasted really good! Everyone was really nice! Got to talk with the owner and he’s nice. Good service and good food

Amazing restaurant! Everyone is absolutely friendly and serviceable. The pizzas are huge, and I mean really big for a great price per slice.
Richie is usually around and is just as friendly as his employees. Great atmosphere and great food for a great price. Y’all won’t regret eating here. It’s a must everything I am in Dothan.

Stopped in for lunch today and loved it. My wife had the pizza and raved about it. Huge slices. I had the cheesesteak and although I’ve never had an authentic Philly cheesesteak, I have to say Richie B’s is the best I’ve ever had. Fresh ingredients, greet meat and cheese and the bread was super fresh. Definitely makes a difference.
The service was great and the staff was very attentive and friendly.

I’ll preface this review by saying don’t order your food to go because it doesn’t travel well. Eat in if you can.
We ordered a cheese-​steak, with chicken instead of steak, and an 18″ veggie combo pizza to go. It was ready in a fair amount of time, and we hopped in the car and drove down the street to UPS because we had some boxes to drop off. Realizing that we didn’t really have any other opportunities to eat on our way down to Tallahassee, we decided to park the car for a bit and chow down. We started with the sandwich, and while it was obviously freshly made, it had been steaming itself inside the wrapper and was falling apart by the time we opened it up (mind you, this is only less than 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant). It was decent, and the spicy sauce that came with it was a nice complement, but we were by no means wowed by it.
The pizza on the other hand… I hate to say it, especially when so many other reviewers seem to have had truly enjoyable experiences with it, but ours was not even a little bit good. The olives, mushrooms, and red bell peppers looked and tasted like they were straight out of a can/​jar. Only the onions tasted fresh. The pizza sauce was light and had a distinct basil taste, which was nice, but the pizza crust was still dough-​y. Definitely under-​cooked. We hate wasting food, and we almost never do it, but we disliked the pizza so much that about ¾ of it went in the trash, which pained us both because it was not inexpensive.
Clearly, I am in the minority, so definitely check it out and form your own opinion. I have admittedly never had authentic New York-​style pizza in New York itself but have had enough of various attempts in many cities around the country to know that this was not good. It was generally disappointing for both my husband and me, and there is nothing that would convince us to give it another try.
On a positive note, the service was very friendly. Perhaps dining in is a different/​better experience.

Richie B’s is great. I’ve never been to NYC, but I would imagine the pizza tastes just like Richie B’s. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Dothan.

.ever! The slices are HUGE; thinner style pizza (just the way I like it) and ooh so filling. Cheese, sauce, toppings; all excellent. Very authentic tasting. Wish I was staying longer now; cant wait to go back!

Best Cheese steak on the planet. With a Side of viper sauce.

Awesome place for some good, no, no for some great pizza just like New York! My fiancé and I ordered the 18″ cheese pizza. It was delicious! My fiancé is an Italian from New Jersey and this place reminds him of the authentic New York Italian pizza. We also met the owner, Richie. Awesome guy making his customer feel very welcomed, he came to our tables and spoke to us and other customers. He is one very down to earth type of guy. Not to mention he is also a former actor, model, and stuntman. He was a guest star in Married with Children,“the Bundy rule”, my fiancé is a fan of the show. :) got an autograph from Richie! This definitely a place we will be returning to when we are in town.

First time there… Such a plesent visit. Thought it was great that Richie came out and was very personable. I definetly will return. Quality of pizza was off the chart…

Went here for lunch, got a slice of the pepperoni and pineapple. The slice was pretty much double the size of my face and it was legit. Don’t try to take the grease off or you’re gonna get judged by Richie B! This place is cool, it’s small but has a lot of character. If Richie B looks familiar to you its probably because he’s actually a Hollywood star! He played Conan the barbarian which I thought was pretty cool. He also comes out and talks to all the restaurant guests. Check out the pictures of his rare Dodge Viper which you will also recognize from Forza! I would go back here again to try some of the subs, too bad I live too far away.

Best philly and pizza in Dothan. Get some viper sauce to top them off. The owner is eccentric but a good guy. This food is full of flavor and always a hit to newcomers.

This place is awesome. The cheese steak is TOP NOTCH. We are so glad Richie B came back to Dothan. Our trips to the beach are much better with a stop by this place.

Eggplant parm sandwich is amazing, just be sure to order one near opening. They tend to run out of the eggplant pretty quickly. That being said, all the other sandwiches will make you happy. The quality of the ingredients makes a huge difference. It’s a $ 9 sub, but you more than get what you pay for. The pizza is good, by doesn’t really travel that well by the slice. Also, the fries are fantastic. Super crispy and pepper coated. Richie is a nice guy, but he’s frank. Some people can’t handle it, but that’s not really his problem. Customers aren’t always right, and that’s ok.

So… the pizza was good. It wasn’t amazing. You get a HUGE slice. Don’t go expecting ambiance. The restaurant is an old Captain D’s building. It has never been that clean when I went. My husband asked about a sub he’d had before that he really liked (I think it was a roast beef sub?), and the owner was very argumentative that they had never made anything like that… even though the lady taking our order seemed to remember it. It wasn’t a big deal, he was just wondering if they still had it and ordered something else. We were just amazed they were still open when we showed up, as they are famous for closing early after running out of ingredients. Overall, won’t be back.

This place was unreal. I have lived in NY my entire life and Richie B’a made me feel at home. The philly cheese steaks are amazing. It is not overly greasy and the bread is warm and soft. I highly recommend Richie B’s!

Pretty disappointed today. Went in for lunch just before 1pm, were only about 4 tables taken. Appears they have all new staff. Front counter girl looks to be about 12. After she brought my food, I asked if they had silverware, she pointed to the counter. I got up to find a basket of forks, and and empty basket beside it. I asked her if they had knives. She said, oh I will have to get you one. She then proceeded to wipe down some tables. So I waited. I decided to try to eat my pizza without cutting it since she as in no hurry to get me a knife, but it was so laden with grease it just drooped down, impossible to eat without cutting it. So I waited. Then I see the girl at the front counter talking to another employee (guy) waving her arm around, laughing and playing. So I walk to the counter and asked if she had found some knives. She said oh let me see and walked into back. So I wait at the counter where the knives go and the same guy she was talking to walks up and asks if he can help. I told him the girl was helping me. She walks out of the back and looks at the guy and says she needs a knife. He said I will have to wash one I will bring it to you. So I sit back down and wait. He comes to my table and hands me a knife. He says it might be wet. It was dripping with water!!! I got a napkin wiped it off and it appears a beige substance came off into napkin. I was so frustrated I just cleaned it well and ate my food. As I was leaving I went to refill my drink. I only see a container labelled unsweet tea. I ask same girl, do you have sweet tea? She says We are out. Well, that’s that! Won’t be back, thanks!

First of all, I have to say that this is not the typical ‘run of the mill’ restaurant that you would expect from a small city/​town like Dothan. As soon as you walk in, you’ll be blown away by all the décor and pictures on the walls. The place is kept magnificently clean and the staff are extremely friendly. And while I don’t personally know the owner, Richie. if you ever get the chance to talk to him, you’ll immediately pick up the ‘no-​nonsense this is how it’s going to be’ type of vibe from him. which I say in a good way. I can see how some people would perceive him as being rude as a couple reviews have mentioned, but I can guarantee you he’s a great friendly guy. some people just haven’t been exposed to his type of personality, which is not typical down south. or some people just have insecurity issues and find his personality over powering.
As for the food. Richie B’s has the best New York style pizza you’ll find within a 100 mile radius. and the size of their slices in nothing to joke about! As for the cheese steaks. it’s definately in the top 3 that I’ve ever had. The amount of meat they put in their sandwiches is ridiculous! The portions of their items would definately put up a challenge for those with the hardiest of appetites.
Then to make the deal even sweeter. the prices are very reasonable.
The only complaint I have about this place are the hours. They close at 5pm. so if you want to eat here for dinner. you better get there early! But besides that, this place is just pure awesomeness!

Great Pizza! I am confused why other people thought he was rude. We came in and they were pretty but but he spoke to us across the counter. I haven’t been able to find pizza slices this large outside of Tallahassee, FL at MoMo’s or Decent Pizza. Great food for Dothan especially! I love all of this portraits around the place. Including the borderline naked photo in the front haha.
