Small place with an average selection of beer, wine and spirits. The choices could be a little better for the beer and wine, but you can tell Eagle is trying… the neighborhood is clearly changing and 40s of Colt .45 and Steel Reserve aren’t selling. They’re starting to stock better beers and more wine. Their spirits selection is exceptional though. I’m a whiskey drinker and can get cheaper than dirt whiskey flavored water, my go to of Jameson or some top shelf stuff. Good to know I can walk around the corner and find that. The people who work there are very friendly and dogs are welcome inside! Eagle is my personal liquor cabinet and I rarely buy anywhere else.

Horrible selection of beer and I have purchased SKUNKY beer on two occasions. Skunky Heineken(who thought that was possible?) and skunky Harpoon IPA. It was undrinkable. Debit transactions are $ 10 minimum so if you just want a six-pack plan on buying a couple nips to bump up your purchase price. Or just go to a different packie!

Decent selection, typically friendly staff and reasonable prices. I usually get a Bota Box here($ 17-$ 18) and have asked about other types of liquor(Bombay Sapphire Gin and Jameson nips) that they said they would order in since enough people were asking for them. Nice response to keep customers happy. They also have all the seasonal variety pack beer and some more upscale stuff, but nothing too extraordinary. Require $ 10 credit card charge

This place has been in the neighborhood for as long as I can remember. Ron, the owner, is a wonderful guy who is always ready to ask the customer if there’s something he can help them with. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s a great little liquor store.

Reliable, cheap and ready to get you all messed up. But enough about me. Eagle Liquors is my supply closet. I don’t even need to stock my apt with booze because I can fall out my kitchen window and land in their wine aisle. This place is close. Real close. But thankfully it’s also good at doing what it’s supposed to do. The people who work there are sweethearts and they have a pretty decent selection for a smaller, neighborhood joint. They keep the prices reasonable, stock everything from 40s to your girlfriend’s favorite vino(and I’d know wink, wink) and are ready to help you out if you have any questions. Also true story — I was in here years back buying some liquids and minding my own business and a guy behind me in line kept commenting on my outfit and how I «really look like I’m from Boston…» After me and the guy behind the counter exchanged a quiet look the fella says«Oh, I’m a location director for a movie being filmed around here.» Yeaaaaahhhh…sure buddy. Fast forward a little whiles and I’m catching«Gone, Baby Gone» in the theatre and Casey Affleck is rocking my exact outfit through half the movie. Now I don’t want to take full credit for that film, but I“ll take like 80% of the credit for that film. Oh yeah, shop at Eagle Liquors. Place is good.

Nice folks work here, which makes the shopping experience that much better. Okay, so they don’t have the greatest wine selection, as stated, but there’s lots of beer, they’ve got my Bota Box wine and they’re on my bike home from work AND have a bike rack right outside so you don’t have to worry about any scallywags nicking your bicycle.

This is my relationship with Eagle Liquors: Every time I go in, I’m on my way home from the T, tired, usually weighed down with bags and all i want is a decent bottle of wine to bring home so I can have a glass. As I have come to find out, wine selection is the major deficiency of Eagle. Wine is very important in my life. Enough so that it causes Eagle to lose 2 stars. Other than that sad sad fact, Eagle is great. The staff is really friendly, they have decent prices and selection on both liquor and beer(even in larger portioned beers, which is nice when I want one or two, but not to be responsible for the whole six-pack). It’s a 3 minute walk from my place, so they’re not about to lose my business, but man, I just wish that I could go there and get a bottle of wine under $ 15 that didn’t have a neon label.

Brady and Em already summed up all there is to say, but I really do love that this store is right down the street. They’re always friendly, the prices are very reasonable. They’ve always got Sam plus the seasonal, same with Harpoon and your other beer staples. And you’ll probably find whatever liquor you’re looking for. I wouldn’t mind seeing more beer variety, but for what it is — the small, local liquor store — they do a great job. Plus there’s a great pizza place(see review for Pantry Pizza & Kitchen) across the street, and what’s better than beer and pizza to start off your weekend?

I’m giving them 5 since this is my regular booze bin(I live right behind it). Like my new bff Em states: TONS of vodka… my liquor too baby ;) It’s a small store w/great prices and the folks who run this place and work here are SO nice. Be warned, they do close @ 10:00 during the week and Saturdays, Sundays they close @ 5:00. As long as I live where I do, they will continue to see my alcoholic ass on a regular basis. Thank you Eagle!
