Shields Mri Boston

Pleasant MRI staff, very kind and reassuring through the process. However, I found the front desk girl to be VERY rude and condescending.
The process itself was very quick compared to other offices and I would recommend shields!

Well, no one goes out to get an MRI for fun (not anyone that I know of, at least…), but if you have to get one, you might as well make it as pleasant as possible. I commend Shields for trying to do that. They have convenient parking, courteous staff, a nice waiting room, changing areas, and free water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The radiology tech was very sweet to me, trying to keep me comfortable the whole time. They clearly take themselves and safety very seriously, as they asked a TON of questions, even over the phone before I got there.
The reason I dock the 2 stars is because they asked me to get there early (30 minutes!, even after already talking to them by phone twice!), and then they kept me waiting. I got there 20 min early, and then they made me wait 40 minutes beyond my appointment time to go into the MRI, meaning I was there for 2 hours total! The MRI itself went smoothly. They had me wait to make sure the images were good, and I was off the table a couple of minutes later. I even was able to take the disc with me to bring to my doctor, and don’t have to go back to pick it up.
But why was I waiting an hour? I was the only one there (aside from the guy in front of me).
Oh well. At least the rest of my experience was pleasant.
