Wonderful sushi, very inventive Chef’s Special rolls and great bento box options. I’m addicted to the salmon teriyaki: perfectly cooked, always a lovely, high quality filet, with gorgeous vegetables, perfect shumai, salad and miso. No shortcuts or skimping here. We ordered several sushi trays for a holiday party with over 75 guests. Raves all around, artfully presented, and delivered fresh and right on time! Love this place!

Niji is great! Tiny but mighty. Food is consistently good, coming out quickly, and the service is always attentive and courteous. A great easy place to always get a seat and good meal in town.

We stopped in for a bite, quite impressed with the warm hand wipes they give out prior to your meal. Very nice touch! We had an assortment of rolls(Philadelphia, Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon), that were quite tasty, the teriyaki chicken and the tempura chicken was out of this world! The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious! We will be back.

I love it here. Clean, quiet, not crowded. Very nice people. Sushi was fresh and melt in your mouth. I had tuna avocado, Alaska roll and spicy tuna or spicy salmon roll. I like the naruto rolls too. All delicious. Put avocado in and I love it. They know my order. It’s kind of funny. I guess I order the same thing. I don’t eat eel or some of the more exotics so it’s Tuna and salmon and sometimes yellowtail for me. It’s all great. Free sake with order over 20 dollars. The brown rice is different and delicious. It has red and black rice. They said it is heathy for the heart and lungs. I need all the help I can get! This is healthier for me to eat. I still like my pizza and BBQ. But I am here at least twice a week. Lunch special is fantastic. I liked the Atmosphere here. I will be back again and again. Or they will deliver it all to me! Deliver they did. To St. John’s hospital too when my love was in there one too many times. Wonderful folks and great sushi.

I been to this place few times, I know what it like here but I keeping on coming back to see how it is and see if it got better from year to year or not. Answer it is same as always. Place is a Good Sushi place, plan and simple. As for other dish on the menu, Don’t get it, it is not Japanese food, but great for people who are staring out or never tried«Japanese food. taste is very westernized. easy to eat for all beginners. For Japanese food experts/lovers this places is missing the key flavor in all Japanese food to be Japanese, It missing«Umami» Most likely I’ll keep on going back to this place once a year, keep on hoping owner or chef will change to be a great place, because I really want to like this place. 3 stars ONLY because of the Sushi. *quick sushi tip to all my sushi eaters, you could tale lot about the sushi and the sushi chef by ordering Tuna nigiri sushi first.

My review is for the food only. My cousin and I picked up a to-go order so I’m not too sure about the restaurant ambiance and service, etc. The sushi however was SO fresh. I ordered the Maki Combo A, which was the tuna, salmon, and California roll. The pieces were somewhat small but there were a lot of them, probably about 18 pieces in total. I was definitely not expecting that much sushi for only $ 14.95. The presentation of the rolls was even appetizing, especially for a to-go order. Overall this is definitely a great spot for sushi!

A place we used to hangout with friends especially when we crave for authentic Japanese food. A cozy place in Dobbs –Ferry neat, clean and decent. The rolls, sushis and sashimi are definitely tasty looking, appetizing, delicious and filling. My fave is the dragon roll and chiratsi, made and freshly served. Metered parking across the restaurant. The staff are friendly and the service was impeccable. A place I would recommend and get back to.

This is kind of a «sister review» to my review of «Tokyo house» a few miles south, as, these are my two standards for reasonably priced, impeccably clean, and good, if not innovative sushi and the like. A couple years ago, Sushi Niji had troulbe with the consistency of its rice(it was overcooked) and, I brought it to their attention a couple of times. It seems to have been worked out. They are unfailingly polite, and seek, in my eye, to really give the customer what they want. I’d recommend any person that is unsure about Sushi Mike’s which has taken a bit of a battering of late, walk the 3 long blocks down the hill to the much quieter, and far superior, Sushi Niji.

We had not realized our fave sushi destination in Dobbs Ferry was closed for vacation when we set out for dinner. Luckily we were able to find an alternative thanks to the trusty Unilocal app and it recommended Sushi Niji which we have driven by many times but had not tried. Its unassuming neighborhood sushi boîte vibe hid a flurry of activity-orphans like us or regulars, no idea– but we were quickly greeted and seated with their extensive but not overly reaching menu. There were both sushi bar and kitchen options. We quickly settled on a sake and some salad appetizers while we perused the rest of their offerings. I always love a strikingly green fresh seaweed salad so we got one of those and another one which had spicy salmon in it. It offered a great contrast of textures and flavors and was presented prettily on a bed of lettuce greens with a couple of lemon slices, the latter we did not not use. The plain seaweed salad was a tangle of rich ocean goodness. We were very pleased and placed our dinner order. Having been well attended to and with another sake to keep things rolling, we ordered an assortment of sushi rolls a la carte. Being a fan of things spicy they had a plethora of choices and we got a Spicy Girl Roll, Spicy White Fish Roll, Spicy Chef Roll, and also a more mild Alaskan Roll and also an order of Tobiko. We were very impressed with the presentation, execution and quality of the sushi. Everything was super fresh which very well may be attributed to their turnover. There were three sushi chefs working the bar that night so I conclude there is a demand and a need. Price wise is it comparable to our usual place without the squishing and high intensity. Sometimes things happen for a reason and the next time we venture to Dobbs Ferry it just might be with Sushi Niji in mind…

Nice ambiance, great location with street parking and some nights they have free saki for those dining in. We enjoyed the items we ordered, the bento box was a good deal and very yummy also.

Tuckahoe, NY 2÷5÷2013 A few days ago I went to this restaurant name called. SUSHINIJI. I found inside had hairs, tell the boss that he does not recognize, said that were our own, they stink straight face too us, we eat too much too, then I know they are hiring illegal workers all of them, so they dint care at this point, and not pay attention to hygiene. Do not go to this rotten restaurants, please !

Sushi Mike’s was closed so we went here instead. The place is smaller, more minimalist, and gives off a traditional Japanese vibe as opposed to the more modernly nautical-themed Mike’s. But that isn’t reflected in the food, which is just as trendy as Mike’s but significantly less tasty. The special rolls are pretty small. Sashimi selections were nothing special, although they were presented beautifully. The a la carte sushi menu is also a little expensive(you only get 1 piece of sushi per order). The food is fine for what it is, which is your standard suburban New York area Japanese place. For something a lot more incredible, go over to Sushi Mike’s.

This is excellent, fresh, creative delicious sushi for a very reasonable price. I’m tempted to give it 5 stars, but the setting/atmosphere wasn’t anything special. It was quiet and definitely nice enough, but a little more effort on the décor would help the experience live up to quality of the sushi. If I lived in the area I would be a regular customer.
