Food here is pretty good, just wish chips and salsa were included with take out orders cause that salsa is great. But other than that, I like coming here if I want some Mexican food and don’t wanna drive out of town. The people are friendly too. will have to come back soon.

Shameful business practices, terrible customer service, and(not terrible but) dissapointing food. My experience: I ordered SEVEN super burritos and two kids bean-and-cheese burritos. Was a little perturbed at seeing that the kids burritos were FOURDOLLARSEACH and was frustrated when I brought the order home to find that I had received only SIX super burritos after being charged for all 7. I wasn’t completely INFURIATED, though, until I cut the kids burritos open to cool them and found that they were ice cold on the inside, with the grated cheese clumped in the middle of both. From this I can deduce that they systematically microwave frozen burritos and then have the shameless audacity to charge $ 4 for them. I returned for my seventh burrito, which was on the counter cooling while it awaited my return. No one apologized for the mistake or offered free chips/salsa for the inconvenience or ANYTHING. I highly recommend driving to Vacaville or Davis for good Mexican food.

This place has really good customer service but their food is not so great. The steak for the tacos were huge chunks and super dry :(& fish taco was super bland and soggy. Rice, beans, and enchilada were ok… if the food was better I would go back.

Fantastic food! Always friendly staff. Family owned and operated and it shows. Everything I’ve had on the menu has been great, but the fajitas are superb! Shrimp, yum! Fish, yum! Chorizo, yum! Carnitas, YUM! Chips and salsa are excellent too!

Every time we eat here the food is very good. The Chile Verde enchiladas are the best! Portion sizes are great. We leave stuffed. The service has been good as well. Nice people.

Delicious! We came right at lunch time, so we had to wait a few minutes as the place was packed. Well worth the wait. Hubs and I both ordered the Super Burrito with Steak Asada. Holy Yum! HUGE portion, neither of us could finish ours, so bonus, white box it and mama doesn’t have to cook tonight! $ 8 for the burrito and we both had a Corona(no judgement — it’s 5:00 somewhere, right?) also very reasonably priced. A nice environment, definitely needs some space expansion, but I can see why they get great reviews. Friendly and good service. We will be back!

Food is not that good. I ordered simple cheese enchiladas. they were super greasy and the cheese inside was not edible. The chips seem store bought. This place used to be good I remember. They must have changed ownership is all I can think of.

Look past the plain exterior. It is very misleading. What looks on the outside like a chain is just the opposite! From the colorful, beautiful hand painted and carved wooden furniture to the well prepared and delicious selections, this is a restaurant you don’t want to miss. Each dish is a very unique experience. Even though the names are familiar everything is prepared uniquely. The flavors are rich and complex. I had the mole enchiladas and could have eaten twice as much just to be able to enjoy more of the sauce. The salsas are also refreshingly different and you can tell lots of thought and love go into their preparation. I should also add that the cook is the artist who created all the tables, chairs and other painted carvings. Overall a very happy surprise find.

Epic lunch experience! Family dinning done right. Super friendly staff. Colorful and fun décor. Food is awesome. Enjoyed fresh thick cut chips with roasted garlic salsa. Huge fountain drinks with bottomless refills. Totally dived into a fajita taco salad with carnitas … YUMMERS!!! … Family eats here every year during the awesome #Pin-A-GO-GO convention. Great food and pinball. What more could you want.

Tried to call in for a pickup. Lethargic person answered. Ended up aborting that notion and decided to just go there and place an order to go and wait 15 mins. Sat down and waited, no chips or salsa offered. Food is good, but nothing I crave. Price, ridiculous, $ 30 for an enchilada, carnitas and ½ Mach order. I go because they’re a local business and the people are nice. Could have went to Cattleman’s steakhouse and gotten steaks and drinks for about the same with better service.

Excellent food, and amazing customer service! My husband and I ordered the cheese tacos– his with chicken and mine with pork chili verde. He raved about his and my pork chili verde was awesome! Super flavorful, and all the right ingredients. I loved the house salsa so much I had to keep asking for refills. Definitely a place to return to when we are in the area.

***Cinco de Mayo tastiness*** Just because it’s in a location that includes a Walmart, do not discount this place as a chain. Its charm is definitely the food and not the location. Ordered a couple of tacos a la carte to go and they turned out delicious. No pictures of them because there was limited time between purchase and consumption. Thank goodness Dixon does lots of good Mexican food! I’m willing to try most(if not all) of it out. The«Mexican style» soft taco was a standard setup– two corn tortillas, filled with delicious goodness. I chose asada which was accompanied by green tomatillo salsa, cilantro and onions. The taco Dorado was interesting as it came out(what appeared to be) deep fried and seasoned. Delicious as well. Sadly I took the food to go, but also asked for some hot salsa. I got a small to-go container and it was scrumptious. Something about that salsa is going to bring me back. That, and the sizzling plates of fajitas filling the restaurant’s air with smells of yum… If this place was a bit more centrally located, I think more people would discover how good it is.

Great place if you’re craving Mexican food! The salsa is perfect and the chips are fresh. My husband raved that the steak fajitas were the BEST he’s ever had and he only gets steak fajitas when we eat Mexican food… literally only steak fajitas lol. I had the fajita salad and it was amazing! I got the one with shrimp chicken and steak and it was soooo good! The guacamole is fresh and has nice hunks of avacodo in it wich was a welvome change from all the super smooth guacamole I’ve had in the past. Service was on point even though there were only two people working the floor, they nailed it! Fast. Friendly. Clean. Delicious. A great experience all around!

It’s decent Mexican restaurant in Dixon. Serving size was good and food was delicious. Chips were good too. I went there for dinner but there’s several people with to-go orders and I had to wait for a long time to get served. Other than that, it’s fine!

Lucky find on the trip from the Bay Area to Marysville(backroads or course) to a friend’s wedding. This place is a little gem of a find! The chips and salsa are not too spicy and clearly fresh and made daily. The service is good and the server looks just like the owner/manager so it must be a family run operation. Highly recommend if you need to get your Mexican food fix.

An okay Mexican restaurant with underwhelming food, but awesome customer service. I was disappointed with the food. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my friend had a carnitas burrito. The quesadilla was soggy on the bottom and there was either grease or some sort of juice pooling on my plate. Kinda off putting. It came with a good amount of guac, sour cream, and pico. One good thing was that it was jam packed with meat. My friend’s burrito was rather bland he said. He likes a little heat with his Mexican food and the burrito just didn’t have any. He ended up pouring the salsa we got with the chips onto the burrito. Not sure how much that helped though. Speaking of the salsa, it was a bit weird. I tend to like my salsa spicy, but I found their salsa to be more sweet tasting. The chips were good. Nice and thick and crispy too. The prices were decent. For my big 14-inch quesadilla, it was $ 8 – 9. For the size I think it was the right price. My friend’s burrito was $ 7 I think, which is about average for a standard burrito. Looking over the menu at the other items and their prices, I’d say it was on par with Chevy’s, maybe a bit cheaper. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. The service was awesome. We were checked up on multiple times, got drink refills without having to flag someone down, and overall just very friendly. Would I come back here? Maybe. Perhaps some of their other items are more flavorful.

As a result of good Unilocal reviews we stopped in while driving long distance on I-80. The reviews were right ! This is a great choice that we wouldn’t have found without Unilocal. This is a family owned and run restaurant. The décor is bright and colorful, a star in the midst of basic shopping center in the outskirts of Dixon. Both the chicken mole and carnitas plates were flavorful and satisfying. La Duena, the owner, told us about how the mole is made. She also told us about a delicious sounding dish that isn’t on the menu. It involves marinading the pork in a lemon juice sauce. Must try this next time we stop by. I posted a picture of her. She’s friendly and enthusiastic to talk about how the food is made. An overall wonderful experience.

* Welcome Experience — Outstanding We were greeted by two very friendly faces who addressed is right away and said we could take any table. * Establishment — Encouraging The décor is unique and very busy in a good cultural fun way. I like the feel of this place… There’s a very«family» or «community» feel to the place. While we were there we saw all cultures and races and ages dining. * Service — Outstanding The same friendly faces that greeted us tended to our table. They asked to refill our chips and drinks at all the right times and were genuinely interested in our experience! Nicely done! * Food Quantity /Quality /Presentation — Outstanding I ordered the three fajita salad that includes steak, chicken and shrimp because I wanted to get a taste of all three. I can’t believe it but they NAILED all three, and that’s almost IMPOSSIBLE with shrimp! They cooked it JUST like I do! A hot sear with lots of spices! It was SOGOOD! The beef and chicken whole not as difficult to nail were both done perfectly as well. See the pics, it was full of sautéed veggies and salsa and sour cream and I can’t stop dreaming of it! I’m headed back there soon! The iced tea is tasty and brewed right and HUGE! * Stuff that isn’t important but I felt it was worth mentioning Chips and salsa that they bring to the table as a starter are a bit bland. The chips aren’t salty and the salsa is not spicy, but I understand not everyone likes it that way. That left a little something to be desired. * What I’ll remember DATSALAD! * What I can’t wait to forget My empty plate. :(
