Came in Tuesday night for my birthday and I had such a great time! I ordered the 2 pound porterhouse! So delicious! Cooked to perfect! Must try their garlic fries as a side. Right now they have corn on the cob and it looks really good. I didn’t try it, but my brother did and he enjoyed it. For a Tuesday it was somewhat busy, but the service was great, and the food came out in a timely manner. Everything was cooked to order! We will definitely be back for more. Ask for Sara. She’s was such a great server!

I have came here a few times and the service and food are always great except for last night. What a waste of $ 70.00! First they were out of the 20 ounce T-Bone special. Then our lettuce was brown. I ordered prime rib that was mostly fat and over cooked around the edges. I got about 5 bite pieces of meat out of it. My last time coming here.

Cattlemen’s has been around forever and we’ve been stopping by there off and on for years especially when road tripping. I really like the feel and vibe, the people are great and the menu has plenty to pick from. Only issue is the steaks themselves, everything tastes like a sirloin and not a lot a great flavor. I ordered the bone in ribeye expecting a juicy marbling as it says on the menu and as I’m used to in a ribeye. Anyways, just disappointing and wish it would have been better.

Terrible slow service from our waiter Michael. We asked for bread twice and did not receive it. The food also took a while to come. At the end of our meal, we had to hunt him down to get the check.

The server and food was good, but the hostess on June 6th who sat us at 7:30 and was smacking her gum grossly while telling us about the corn special. Then at the end of our visit I walked up to the host and let her know we made a reservation and told them it was my sister birthday and all she had to say was«sorry» didn’t offer to fix the situation. But the table next to us got a happy birthday song. I wasn’t happy about that and my sister was disappointed. I would have put 5 stars but we came here for a special occasion and the host didn’t bother to fix most likely her mistake since it looks like she answered phones and seats people.

My girlfriend and I had never been to a Cattlemens Steakhouse before, but we WILL be going back. I loved the old West /Cowboy feel of this place, right up my alley! Very friendly and helpful waitress that took care of all of our needs and answered all our questions. Great salads were more than we could eat with great house-made dressings. Our 10oz top sirloins were very tasty. The wait time to get in was pretty short. Overall experience was great! We’ll be back! Next time we’ll bring our friends!

From the waiter, to the artichoke cheese dip app, to my 2 pound sheriff steak and thick cheesecake, everything was superb. Don’t know of any other spot that has a 2 pound porterhouse for $ 28 bucks, all you can eat homemade bread, salad and baked beans worth your choice of side. A true steakhouse. You don’t have to break the bank for some ritzy place that serves you small portions. Come hungry, come in your Jesus sandals if you want. It’s all good.

My 1st time here was with a huge party 4 my husband’s work celebration & since then, my husband & I have returned several times for birthdays & just because occasions. The food is amazing, the décor is historically country & the servers are attentive. Any cowboy would appreciate this steakhouse. I can’t wait 2 go back as I’m definitely looking forward 2 the spinach artichoke appetizer & lavender lemonade, plus it gives me a reason 2 wear my new cowboy boots from Boot Barn!

I have always enjoyed this restaurant over the years. I probably visit once a year, and I have never been disappointed. Ambiance: Dark, rustic, and blue collar upscale. A great place whether you’re on a date, or just need a night out with family or friends. Service: Service has always been good here. Friendly waiters who tend to your needs quickly. Food: I love their steaks here. They age them for 9 months, which really adds depths of flavor. However, I have noticed recently that the quality of beef is somewhat lower than I remember in the past. I don’t know if it really is a lesser quality, or I just have a wider reference for quality beef now. But, the steak was cooked perfectly, it had great marbling, and the seasoning was just right. Also, i would avoid ordering any seafood items– they aren’t very good, overcooked, and lacking flavor. They do steaks well, so stick with that. Overall, I like this place a lot, they cook steaks perfectly, and will continue to go on a semi-annual basis.

Cattlemens, shame on you all. Where do I began. I guess when you have had an amazing experience, an you return YEARS later, you shouldn’t expect the same level of service an same amazing food? So lets start with the service, SHANNON, you my dear need to find another line of work, waitresses work is NOTFORYOU. You are rude, an have no rite explaining the differance between an ENDCUT of PRIME, an a center cut. I was brought an over cooked cut of END prime, when I clearly ordered medium rare. She procceds to argue with me about the cut she gave me. An after returning with another cut, proceeds to try an correct me again, that what I wad looking at WASNTANENDPIECE, because they shaved off an ever so slight amount of the end, so they could claim it wasnt an end piece? Yes I know I sound like im ranting, but It was like someone drags you out side an trys to convince you the skys green, when you clearly can see its blue. Ok, next, THEFOOD… pay extra for Shirley Temples, dont expect cherries in it. Ask for mushrooms to share with party of 6, expect enough for one, MAYBE2. Prime is tough! Sourdough bread, WASNOTSOURDOUGH. When I asked about it, they said, ohhhh, sorry we will bring it rite out. Not sure what the first COLD loaf even was. Next, THEBEANS? Am I the only one who loved THEBEANLADY? Where did they hide her? This beyond PATHETIC, ½cup crock shows up at our table for serving 6 adults? Sign of the times? My fries were not only cold, they were hard. But now I did give you guys a 1 star… the salad, yes the salad WASGOOD. PAID275.00FOR A GOODSALAD?! Dont bother, Cattlemens ISNOTWHATITUSETOBE, ITSGLORYDAYSAREOVER. P. S. Miranda S? Dont bother with a GENERICREPLYOF how you care to discuss this further… as stated in ALLOTHERCOMPLAINTS made, how bout yall just fix it?

I got the prime rib and it was pretty good. I was expecting the hot plate to sizzle, it didn’t really sizzle. They brought my girkfriend the wrong entrée, but they comped it, which was nice. Pretty crowded place, so you can expect a wait.

always a pleasure coming here, i remember coming here while i was in college on monday nights for the dollar ribs, and their ribs were about a foot long. had my 2lb sirloin steak, cooked medium and i thought the steak was a bit more cooked than i had expected. but then again i haven’t had a sirloin in a while maybe i have forgotten how it’s supposed to look like cooked medium. my wife had a prime rib and it was awesome looking and it tasted awesome too. i had a piece and it was cooked just the way she and i liked it.

I’ve heard good and bad about Cattlemens, but decided to try for myself. My husband and i took our kids here last week on a wednesday. We were warned it was pricey but i didn’t think it was too bad(minus the 9 dollar kids meals lol) Our waitress was nice but the manager was even better. I had a bit of an issue with my plate(crab legs and steak) and the manager was so nice about it and quickly had the cook remake my plate. Overall i had a good experience and will going back in the near future. :)

So I’m an avid cattlemen’s fan, I’ve actually came for the last 2 birthdays. This last trip(1÷30÷2016) was nothing short of great. It was sort of a random trip since usually I only come for birthdays but my boyfriend insisted on cattlemen’s because he had never been. Since it was so random and a Saturday night it was PACKED. They said the wait was an hour and 45 minutes which actually wasn’t an issue we had things to do. They gave me the beeper to tell you when the table ready but I explained we would be going further so it wouldn’t work so they told me they could text me when it was ready and to call them and ask them to hold my table if I was going to take longer then 5 minutes. So an hour and 20 minutes later our table was ready and we were checking out so I called and they said no problem on holding my table. We walk in and say who we are and BAM we had our table ready no waiting what so ever. It was such an awesome feature and I truly appreciate it. The food was awesome, never disappointed with my meal.(Jumbo shrimp-your way!). The waitress Kelsey was great too and down to earth.

While the food is good, their host staff is abysmal. I was told the wait would be «just a few minutes» and it took them 25 minutes to seat us. Moreover when I asked the hostess flat out lied to me and said she had quoted me longer. This kind of unprofessional behavior ruins the whole experience. Any restaurant is way better off just being honest about what they are capable of than lying to keep you from leaving and going elsewhere.

So I hadn’t been to Cattlemen’s in at least 5 years. Well we were on a surprise trip over to my Mother n Laws for her bday. We cruised by the mall and grabbed her a Giants jersey and when we called to make sure she was home they said they were going to Cattlemen’s for dinner. Count us in. So when we got there they were already seated. We grabbed a booth and our waitress was there in no time to take our drink orders. Since I was driving I just had a water while The Wife got a Long Island Ice Tea, which she described as «surprisingly good». We grabbed some hot wings and the Rents grabbed an order of the Tumbleweed onions, both were good but I’d have to give the nod to the Onions… and they tumble that’s for sure it’s a giant pile(someone tells these people to put it on a bigger skillet: P). The Wife had the filet(shocking I know) with grilled onions and mushrooms added while I had the New York and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp surf n turf. They call it something else, but it’s a surf n turf :). The mushrooms came whole and in about a lb of butter, The Wife actually ended up sending them back, My steak and shrimp were superb. The staff was attentive but let us stay for like an hour after dinner and we never felt rushed. I’d totally recommend this steakhouse. It may have even got 5 stars from me if I hadn’t become such a food snob in the last few years. But I guess that’s a product living in Napa and also being blessed with such great places here in Cali.

Delicious food! Everything was fresh, made correctly and had great flavor. I would definitely visit again, next time we are in the area. Kind of expensive but that’s to be expected at a steak house. The service was the only downfall, it wasn’t horrible, it just wasn’t great. Our server didn’t come around often, most of our food/drinks took a while to come out.

Stopped by after a weekend in SF. Haven’t been here in years. Same place but that’s not always a bad thing! Consistency is great. The drinks are big and strong. The bread is tasty and fresh. You get a ton of food. The steak is sooo good! Dessert? No way who could ever have room?! Fun rustic cowboy place that can host large groups if needed

My favorite place to end up on Monday nights during Football season. Why you ask? It’s simple. Happy Hour. $ 1 Ribs. YAASSSS. *disclaimer* This is only offered on the«bar» side, so first come first serve. and not offered in the dining room. I got my first taste of Cattlemen’s my freshman year of college, and since then Cattlemen’s has grown increasingly popular. There use to be no wait for these ribs, and nowadays it seems that there’s always a line and a fear of ribs running out. The ribs are HUGE for the cost and really filling. I can probably get full off of two, but I have no self control so I’ll shove four down my throat before calling it quits. It’s THAT good. Perfectly saucy, but not too saucy, and the meat isn’t dry! Thank da lordy. Their garlic fries are SOOOOO good. This pplace has to be one of the biggest points that I miss about going to school in Davis. I’ve had food on the dining hall side before and it’s amazing. I definitely recommend this place. Come early eduring happpy hour, otherwise you might risk not getting any cheap ribs and leaving disappointed. Pro tip: Order to-go for an extra $ 1 and it’ll be just the same.

BLUF: Great, cheap steakhouse nearby UC Davis. If you are there with a buddy, go for the ‘Lasso an Original Dinner for Two’ which is a great deal for a full meal. Cattlemen’s never seems to have too long of a wait, even during NYE dinner. When my family and I walked in, we were promptly seated and were attended to by engaging staff. My dad and I went for the Lasso an Original Dinner for Two which comes with one appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts. The dinner came with complementary bread/butter and salad starter. We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail which consisted of six shrimps, nothing special. For the main entrée, I ordered the 9 oz prime rib(cooked rare) and my dad had a 6 oz filet mignon(medium rare). The prime rib was mediocre but the filet mignon was delicious from the half that I tried. Even if you order a 6 oz steak, the main entrée comes with a sweet potato and the whole meal is decently filling. For dessert we ordered the Pete’s Pan Cookie which is a pozookie(giant chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla bean ice cream in a deep dish) and the chocolate outlaw cake. The chocolate outlaw cake is a triple chocolate diabetes attack in waiting, a layer of chocolate frosting o top of chocolate mousse, on top of chocolate cake. All in all, a great experience and a great new year’s dinner!

When I first called, I was told that it was a 15 minute wait. When I got there the parking lot was full. When we walked in the girl at the podium told me it’s a 35 minute wait. I asked if I can just go to the bar area, she said yes and pointed us to the bar. We were very lucky, last table at the bar area. I ended getting the cowboy 20 oz. rib eye steak and the wife ordered the 9oz. Prime rib. When I cut into the rib eye, it sure was a perfect medium rare. The fat marbling through the whole steak made it so flavorful. My wife wasn’t complaining so I figured she was loving her Prime rib. We were also served an all you can eat salad bowl. Had my ranch on the side. The salad had too much red onions but I still managed to eat three bowls worth. It’s true though… this rib eye was the best I’ve had in a while. The bill came out to $ 68.32. I was a happy cat licking my paws at the end of this feast. I also think cattlemens is a better steakhouse than Texas Roadhouse.

I really enjoy eating here. When I am in the mood for a steak or prime rib this is the only spot that come to mind. The Cowboy Cut Prime Rib is the best. With the salad, bread and other sides you get it is more than enough food. I see a few people complaining about the crab legs they get here and I must laugh. What a sophomoric move to order fish at a steakhouse. I mean it is called Cattlemens! I guess you are the same person that orders a porterhouse at Pier 39 and gets upset when it tastes like shoe leather. Get a grip on life.

PROS: You really never have to wait too long for a table. Most of the time, we really get a great table… Server’s are inattentive and very nice! Food ESPECIALLY the steaks are their Flagship… so I suggest you order meat… I LOVE their New York cut! They’re spot on when it comes to how you would like it cooked; NEVER had a problem with that! I have been a customer for at least 8 years now! CONS: I would say the ONLY thing I dislike is the bit of road leading into the Cattlemen’s. Especially in the dark… it’s very hard to maneuver around that dirt road… I have seen a huge Mac truck miss that very narrow area; the truck needed a tow truck to pull it out from the mud pit… if you don’t turn quick enough, you can actually get caught up in it too…

I finally made it here! I happened to find myself wandering around the bustling cosmopolitan that is Dixon. I was overwhelmed by my restaurant choices. The Tavern on the Green, Tadich Grill, The French Landry, LA Halle, and Spago all sounded good but didn’t make the cut. So there I was at Cattlemen’s wondering if the food was as good as I’ve heard. I order a steak. Ques the suspense music. Duh, duh, duh da… It came with salad, bread, and garlic fries. The salad was so crisp and succulent I ordered seconds. No kidding! I love salad. The kitchen had run out just as I ordered so they sent their interns(interns get all the dirty work) into the fields at night to cut me fresh greens. Yep, it was that fresh. The bread was this half sourdough round. It was lightly toasted on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. Just the way I like it. It must have been baked the night before. You don’t really appreciate bread until you’ve had really good and really fresh. What about the steak you say? I was just getting to that. I ordered a 20oz cowboy steak. It was BIG. Big enough for a ravenous ranch-hand hungry from punching cattle all day. It was cooked perfect, tender and had great aged beef flavor. Now you want to know about the fries? Don’t worry, I didn’t forget them. I just couldn’t eat them… Ha! Well, I couldn’t eat them right then anyway. I was so full from salad, more salad, bread, and a giant steak I had to take them home. You know what? Those fries were still good when I snacked on them later. Overall it was a great steakhouse experience. If you find yourself in Dixon, overwhelmed by dining choices, herd yourself into Cattlemen’s. It’s is horns and tails above the rest. Yeah-Ha!

Ooh $ 2 ribs on NFL Monday’s! The ribs are HUGE and pretty tasty. I’ve definitely had more tender and juicier but it is good for the price. Can’t believe I missed out on the dollar ribs last year though :( I wouldn’t really crave the ribs here but not bad.

NOMORE $ 1 ribs during football season! Currently $ 2 per bbq rib. I would come here many mondays last year when they had the $ 1 ribs. It was super worth it! However, this time, they told us the ribs have increased to $ 2. It’s not thaaaaat bad but it definitely limited me from getting more ribs! Our group ordered 20 ribs(you can order more later). I also ordered a side of bbq sauce just because I like my ribs saucy! I ordered their fries. small portion for $ 1.99 but the fries were at least crunchy. Surprisingly it wasn’t too busy when we got there. The game started 30 minutes prior and thankfully there was an open table. Oh yeah, if you choose to do the $ 2 rib special, you can only eat that the bar area(you have to find seats on your own!) It can get a bit busy so it might take some time for you to track down your waitress/waiter if you need more refills or order add-ons. But our waitress was super friendly and kept checking in on us :)

If you like your meat, this is the place for you! Quite a ways out of the city but worth the drive if you’re already shopping at the outlets nearby. I would suggest making a reservation, this place was packed on a Sunday evening! Service is good and I just can’t help but think about that show, Fresh Off The Boat when I got here. Yes! This is the closest to Cattlemen’s Ranch I’ll ever get to. I ordered the Western Cut prime rib which was way bigger than I thought it’d be. I rarely can stomach this much meat but we came here for a birthday celebration so it was definitely a special occasion! The meat was flavorful, the drinks were ok. I got the legendary margarita which was a bit watered down. The mai tai as well. For dessert, we ordered the fried apple pie and the cowpie. Way to end the meal :)
