It’s called Delight Donuts, but was formerly Dunkin Donuts. After the name change, I’ve always thought of this place as the ice cream place. I haven’t been to the establishment since the name change a few years ago. I stopped by in search of a cool treat. The place is a bit divey, if you will. Or for some, the gentrification movement hasn’t made it to this area. I’ve been in spiffy shops, I’ve been in divey shops. Quality of the product and customer service always reign supreme in my book. The model of the store follows the Dunkin Donut’s/Baskin Robbins model. There are a few offerings of donuts and about 16 ice cream flavors by the Hershey brand(they rival Baskin Robbins in my opinion.) I give this place 3 stars because while I think they offer a good deal(ice cream, donuts, coffee drinks, sandwiches, etc.) the customer service was lacking. No smiles, hardly any verbal communication. I don’t expect people to have short conversation, but a «hi» «can I help you» «i’ll ring you up down here». those things matter to me. I didn’t get any of that. Not the delightful place that you expect. **They have red velvet donuts(yum) and ice cream(ehhh, i’ll pass) and banana pudding icecream(yum!)**

The ice cream here is the best and doesn’t hurt the pockets!!! The owner is very friendly and they’re open 24 hours.

They still have some of the best cake donuts(new favs — sour cream & chocolate frosted) I’ve tried, however a dozen has gone up in price from $ 6.99 to $ 7.99 — still not bad.

I’ve been there once before about 5 – 6 months ago to get donuts for me and my boss when we ate them they weren’t good and had to throw them away. so i decided to try them again today and when i enter the store and set my coffee on the table the lady looked kept looking at the mirror to see if i stole something. I picked up my cup and took a sip to show her what i put there and she gave me a blank stare. So I ordered my donuts which came to $ 3.77, I gave her a $ 5 bill and when she gave me my change she kept 10 cent and she don’t give me the bag she just stared at me. I waited a few seconds to see and she still don’t touch the bag at all so i had to reach to get the bag myself even after she kept my 10 cent. So I just grabbed the bag and left and fed the birds with one of the donuts. Its been almost 45 minutes and i still haven’t touched the donuts. :|

Never again. Delight Donuts is De Worst. I saw an old school photo of sundaes on the wall i ordered a hot fudge sundae. Was quickly advised that they didnt offer hot fudge but instead Hersheys chocolate syrup(huh…what). I felt committed so I went ahead and ordered it. The ice cream was actually good it was Hershey’s chocolate. But im an almond girl so imaginr my dismay to bite into walnuts uhmmmm no. There are plenty of reasons why this place is a no go. The primary reason would be the poor customer. service. When I walked in the door of the place the employee was in some kind of inappropriate discussion with a spanish speaking woman. Ok im gonna say she was being RUDE… huge turnoff I shoulda left then but I wanted a scooby snack… And my last issue is I asked for a bowtie. It was a day old im guessing and just not good. Will not be back toodles

I sent my son out in the cold to get me a donut. Our«regular» donut spot was closed and it wasn’t even 10pm yet. He told me that he saw another spot and would see what they had. He came home with what I wanted from the other spot BUT the donuts(4) were stuffed in a brown paper bag! WTH? My donut ALMOST tasted like the«other» spot but it was kinda crunchy. When I asked what the place looked like — he described it a small with bulletproof glass and not very friendly. He did say that it was 24 hours. Needless to say, I wont send him back there.

Delight Donuts. Delight Donuts. Delight Donuts. No, I’m not stuttering, I’m just trying to figure out the problem with the name of this place. Hmmmm, two words that start with the same letter. One word, donuts, that is in my top 20 list of favorite words in the English language. Wait a sec… I got it! The problem is the name is misleading. A donut that is delightful is something that brings joy to your mouth and comfort to your tummy. It should motivate you in the morning with the prospects of something moist, sweet and fluffy(please keep your thoughts clean) while also serving as an enticing sugary treat for the remaining parts of the day. Where does this place go wrong? Ummm, well… their donuts SUCK! Where’s the delight in having crappy donuts? It’s bad enough that this place is located in a sketchy part of town, in a weird little strip mall. It’s surrounded by a liquor store, gas station and carryout restaurant, which has an ordering window that is bulletproof. Folks, those are symptoms of a sketchy area right there! The store is small and dated. Service is pushy and focused on making a sale as opposed to helping customers pick out the least crappy donuts out of their crappy selection! Did I say selection? What selection? There was no such thing as variety there. Basically there’s like 6 – 7 options and half of them are powerded donuts. Who are they catering to? Crackheads? The donuts I did end up ordering were blah to say the least. Space fillers is being generous. If there is a positive in the situation, it’s the price and the hours. Half a dozen is like $ 4 and they are open 24 – 7. «Bonus», they also have an ice cream section as well. You know what the irony is? I dragged a friend and fellow Unilocaler here despite the fact that she made it clear she didn’t want to try it. I just assumed that maybe she didn’t want to go because she had dated some guy that works there or something. Alas, an apology is in order… DANGIT!
