Planet Tan

1 star for the nice staff and 1 for the only one out of 4 tans that I’ve gotten that came out fine.
My most recent tan here was a disaster, I don’t know why but it was streaky as hell and I got absolutely no color. So the counter staff told me to go in again (not really supposed to do in one day but I didn’t know, she should have.) I wanted a refund but they only offered me a free tan on my next visit.
I would’ve given the staff two stars but there is one employee who is so rude, and doesn’t clean the mystic tanning booth after someone uses it, instead she waits until someone else comes in to clean it which is pretty gross and allows more time for bacteria to grow. (She’s one of the older girls that work here. The nice girls are the really tan ones with black and blonde hair.
Overall, the only good thing about this place are the nice younger girls that work here who are very personable and nice about answering any questions. Also not too expensive.

They only give you 3 months to use the tans. Then they expire. Now I have to give my wife more $. Don’t go there.

HORRIBLE! The only thing good about this facility was the girl working there. She was very nice, however didn’t explain the different tanning beds very well. My daughter and I went there for my wedding, and explained that we normally tan in Pleasanton, in a tanning bed called the Orbit. We bought two tans, in the stand up they had which she explained was comparible to the Orbit. My daughter was about 4 minutes into her tan, when i started asking more questions about the tans we purchased. WHICH BY THE WAY IS THE MOST I HAVE EVER PAID FOR A TAN. As I was talking to the girl, and asking more questions, I realized that this bed was MUCH stronger than what we were used to. I told her to turn it off immediately, and I wanted a refund. She called her manager or owner, I’m not sure which, and explained what had happened. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, when the person on the other end of the phone asked the worker, «well why did you tell her it was stronger?» The worker said, «because they have a wedding and I didnt want them to get burned.» REALLY, AN OWNER SAYING THAT? The owner flat out said she wasnt going to give us our money back, until I talked to her on the phone. We made the drive to Pleasanton, and with the cost of the tans there AND the gas getting there, we STILL saved money! It’s a shame they are the only game in town, but do yourself a favor and keep driving and find a tanning facility in Brentwood!

Great selection of tanning beds, products etc.
But, that doesn’t really matter because, like the review below me, their new billing/​price system does NOT work for me.
I liked the Star system they had before that allowed you to use your stars when you saw fit but now you pretty much have to go tan daily to get your money’s worth out the outrageous packages they have now…
The other MAJOR problem I have with this place, and will not support is Terrorism and other illegal activities business that promote artistic infringement of designer products! This place, among with other Salons around this area are infamous for carrying knock off designer bags etc. and being that I support real designers by purchasing their pieces of wearable art, be that it may cost a lot of money, I find places like this that carry this 3^rd world country reproduction crap morally reprehensible!

Ive lived here in disco bay for 6 years and counting now. I used to tan at this place however that was back when they had a STARS program, which meant you could buy time and use it WHEN you saw fit! going out of the country 6 months? no problem the stars would be there. however they got greedy and now have a «new» system which is of course a yearly contract and they will now suck money right out of your bank account every month if you tan or not. lowest being around 50 a month to 100 a month for the package anyone would want anyway. who wants to spend 100 a month on fake tanning? are you KIDDING ME? They would of had 4 stars if they kept up with the program they started the place with. Now I have to find a new place who does not seem to want to drain my bank account monthly. BOO HISS TO GREEDY BUSINESS’s!

I go to this planet tan all the time! The girls in there are really nice and always very helpful if you have a questions about tanning. The bunch last summer were my favorite, but they seem to have moved on from Planet. :(The store is always clean and tidy, which is so important when you go tanning! They have a huge selection of tanning lotions, jewlery, sunglasses, clothes, purses and drinks. I like the beds they have there too. I usually go in the VHO or Shuttle, depending on if I want to lay down or stand up. I always use the legacy in addition to the other bed as it only tans your legs. There is not usually a wait and all their beds are usually working. The girls are even nice enough to tell you when they have just replaced the bulbs in a bed so you don’t get fried! I took away a star because they are kind of expensive. The have Star Packages and each bed costs a certain amount of stars. A good package to last you all summer is about $ 300… but it does come with free tanning lotion ($ 80 value).
