We happened upon J’s after our car broke down and we were waiting for service. Joanne, the owner greeted us at our table. She was warm and friendly. The food was great, fantastic $ 524oz beers on tap. Highly recommend!

This review is for back in September I went to J’s for dinner one day over the summer and ordered the Ponzu chicken. I understand that it is busy, and the coconut rice is specially made, but it took roughly 45 minutes to receive my order. The food was flavorful, though the rice was disappointing. Well, the next month I had won a gift card in a contest so I decided to eat lunch there to kill time before work. Good thing I had plenty of time to kill, because that time my order took almost a whole hour. On top of that, I had to sit myself and wait 15 minutes before I decided to just ask the server at the bar to get someone to help me and take my order. Definitely don’t plan on getting food there again, since the prices aren’t quite worth the ridiculous wait. At least the servers are friendly enough when you can get ahold of one.

Ehhhhhh… no thanks. I’ve gone here a few times when I’d be in town visiting my parents, before I gave up and just decided to make the drive to Fresno instead for a REAL nightlife(er, at least, MORE of a nightlife than this). The place is really small, and if you’re in a big group and get there at normal going out time, not super early, it’s nearly impossible to all sit together. People try to dance, but there’s no dancefloor, another space/logistics issue. Also, you aren’t allowed to take your drinks to the«smoking patio»(which is a little 12×5 area of space with a couple of chairs) which is a HUGE downer and really annoying. Honestly, I understand that the only reason this place is in business is because there is nothing like it in Dinuba. However, the drinks are expensive and not that strong, the food is expensive and not that great, and the crowd is awkward. I always end up running into THE people I try to avoid in town– and it’s incredibly awkward. The crowd is just INCREDIBLY awkward. So yeah… no. Do yourself a favor, and if you have the means, just drive to Fresno.
