Very friendly employees. All of them. Rooms are very clean, but need to be renovated. Breakfast is included. Swimming pool is nice.

Not up to marriott standards. It’s ok in a pinch — it’s decent but needs a refresh. Very dated. Maybe one of the oldest Fairfields I’ve ever stayed at.

Perfect for what it is. Affordable. Clean. Friendly staff. Convenient location. Pool. Free breakfast. Free wifi. Come to think of it you could fucking move here and be quite happy. So do the right thing and get a Marriott rewards card so you get the points too.

I had to stay there due to roads being closed due to storm. The rooms were clean and up to date. The only complaint I have is that they did not have a waffle machine at the free breakfast.

Scranton is my hometown. I’ve stayed at the Fairfield for a week or more at a time and found it very comfortable and clean. The mall area and surrounding restaurants have increased significantly since my last stay so I appreciate Jennifer mentioning the lighting as I would consider requesting an extra bedspread for the window. For me that may be enough to dull it to a reasonable level. I expect to choose it again and will be staying there soon based on the cleanliness, friendliness, reasonable cost, breakfast, wifi, pool and proximity to great eats of all sorts. My family enjoy visiting me to utilize the pool area. We’ll often get a pizza from one of PA’s nationally famous pizza places(really!) and enjoy this poolside while the kids get a swim during the winter when this would be impossible except at a YMCA. I’m giving it 5 stars based on comparison to other area lodging of this type.

I stayed here overnight for a business trip. After several hours of travel and 11 hours of work, I was beyond exhausted by check in. Thankfully the room was ready and the check in process was less then 3 minutes. I was expecting a decent nights sleep and this was not the case. The windows only have a thin, white sheer as a curtain and in the parking lot there was a huge spot light shining right into the rooms. There is no way to escape the bright lights. I tried everything to conceal it but nothing worked. I suggest bringing an eye mask with you when you stay here. It’s smaller than other Marriotts I have been to in the past but it was equally as nice. Free wifi which is a plus and a decent breakfast spread which is also included for free. This location has a pool and spa room. If I was not so tired it would have been nice to relax in the pool. There is a computer in the lobby, which is awesome for business trips. The staff is very friendly and always greets guest with a smile. I would have for sure given this hotel 5 stars if it weren’t for the bright spot light.

I stayed here on a business trip recently. It is actually a good hotel, but suffers ascetically from poor placement in a strip mall. The Fairfield sits at the back of a large parking lot that sit adjacent to a Chinese buffet restaurant, a Residence Inn, Staples and a Best Buy. In some ways this is a positive for the Fairfield, since it sits well back off the road and is fairly quiet. It also gives easy walking distance access to a place to eat a few places to shop. However, for the vacation traveler, the Fairfield might not have a «fun vacation» type curb appeal. Beyond the curb appeal, the hotel was quiet. I never once hear slamming doors at 3am or loud conversations in the halls. Most patrons were like myself and staying there on business. The rooms are standard fair, but was impressed that it had Panasonic flat screens with about 42 channels(w/Showtime). I’ve stayed at better hotels and that still had old CRTTV’s. The Hotel is relatively new and has an indoor pool. I overheard that the Fairfield shares a gym with the Residence Inn next door too. Lastly, the morning breakfast was good. They had DIY waffles, juices, milk, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt and hot oatmeal. There is a computer in the lobby for Internet access and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel(Disney charges $ 10 a day for Wi-Fi!!). For business travel, this Fairfield is A-OK! For a vacation, not so much.
