I’m sure this hotel was nice when it was freshly renovated, but now it feels like someone gave us the«model home» room and it’s slowly falling apart like it Arrested Development. The sink faucet had no pressure and there were giant chips missing in the door. Breakfast was good, coffee was terrible. Dickinson is kind of a terrible town in general so I’m not surprised this hotel wasn’t great.

Very nice rooms(given the location). Close to a mall and lots of restaurants. Can’t go wrong.

This hotel deserves 5 stars. We came in from Phoenix for a wedding and they accommodated us with an early check in. I am so picky about the cleanliness of rooms it was such a huge relief walking into our beautiful clean room. The beds were soft, pillows fluffy, the bathroom was immaculate. Cozy little bar, and an excellent continental breakfast! Very impreased! I highly recommend this hotel. If I ever need to stay in Dickinson again this will be my 1st choice. Thank you to the courteous hotel staff. Very friendly and helpful!

What do u expect in diknson. The bartender and blackjack dealers were awesome. Except the guy dealer he hated every second of his job and his negativity was very evident. The workout room only had two treadmills one elliptical trainer and some medicine balls no towels or Clorox wipes were provided. Do you work out room also had no windows. The rooms were clean and very spacious plenty of outlets to plug your gadgets and a refrigerator and microwave the shower was standing only which is fine for me but if you’re looking for a tub they do not have. The hot tub was the best part of the whole stay very spacious can fit at least 10 people comfortably.

Our family had a wedding reception here, so we got a hotel room for one night. There were a couple make-shift bars in the reception area and one main bar outside of the room. The prices of each drink were different at each station. I believe the servers were making their own prices and pocketing the extra money. The girl working the main bar stood around texting and was one of the worst bartenders I’ve ever seen. All the staff was incredibly rude and snotty. 98% of them were foreigners on work visa and EXTREMELY unfriendly. The room we stayed in was decent sized but was a little dirty. You’d think for $ 119 a night, you could have a clean bed and bathroom… well not at Astoria. THEN, two days after, we checked our credit card statement and realized the hotel charged is TWICE for the hotel room. After speaking to several girls who where foreign, difficult to understand and had no idea how to rectify the situation, I finally got ahold of the ‘manager’ Dominic, who was just about as difficult to understand. I was first told the money wold be refunded in 3 days. Three days passed, no refund. I called again and talked to Dominic the manager. He them told me 7 days. Seven days passed, NOTHING. Now it’s going on two weeks and no refund! This place is a joke, filled with crooks working here. Stay somewhere else. This place isn’t worth the $ 238, they’ll scam you out of.

I travel 42 weeks and a year so I am accustom to travel and have even have become patient with bad service. That said, this team stretched me to a new level. From Reservations, to Jody at the front desk to Dominic the GM, this place is an embarrassment in terms of customer service. My guess is… they don’t even know how to define service. Perhaps it is a good thing they’re in a market that can sustain such incompetence. That said, Asotria will be a one and done experience… for me and everyone in my company.

Never, never, never again. I have called twice to talk to the manager about my stay — was hung up on twice while on hold. The email address on their website doesn’t work so my email was kicked back. I finally left a message on their Facebook account; no response. While I would have preferred to handle the issues of my stay privately, I am compelled to let other travelers know what they are in store for if they stay here. I booked my room through and that was a very easy experience. When booking my room, I requested a top level floor that was away from hotel foot traffic — this request was met and I was very pleased with that. However, that is where the bulk of my positive comments end. My two daughters and I arrived on Friday, May 9th at approximately 3:30. The front desk staff could not have been less friendly. Not a smile or any sort of welcoming spirit. I would have thought this was a brief or isolated event but the coldness of the staff continued throughout our stay. I believe some hospitality training is in desperate need. I did like the extra room that our room had. We stayed in Room 458. Our room has not seen the work of a vacuum in some time — there was dirt, lint, etc all over the floor. This was also the case for the 1st floor and 4th floor hallways. Our room did not have an alarm clock — which is a very basic item in a hotel room. I couldn’t call the front desk for a wake-up call because the phone didn’t work either. The girls played in the pool Friday evening and had a wonderful time. Saturday morning, we left the property by 10:00am and returned around 4:00pm. Our room had not been cleaned. As a result, we also did not have any clean towels. Due to not having a working phone, couldn’t call the front desk to discuss. We had an event to attend at 5:00 so we just needed to work around the unmade beds and towels so we could get there in time. I cannot stress how disappointing it is to see this lack of care or basic hotel procedure being handled. I cannot understand why my room was not cleaned or why we didn’t have an alarm clock or a working phone. To top it all off, the mini-fridge was turned so cold that it froze all of the fruit and snacks we had put in there, resulting in our having to throw it all away. We have a lot of friends and family in the Dickinson area, I will find another property to stay at in the future. Very disappointed.

Unfriendly staff, filthy hotel even after it’s cleaned. Horrible breakfast. Basically a home for all the dirty, drunk oil workers. Uncomfortable bed, clearly the hotel was being built fast for the oil workers, therefore everything is cheaply done. Mud and cigarette butts everywhere.

There was nothing really bad about the hotel or the staff. It was however, a little uncomfortable being the only two women in the whole place. The hotel was full of Hispanic oil workers. The breakfast was a little gross. The eggs were inedible. Also we were wishing that there was some fresh fruit or something. Overall good, just uncomfortable.

I had a pleasant experience in the two nights I was at the Astoria. It is a large property and very new, some of the areas were still closed off to construction. The staff weren’t great(seemed very bothered that guests would want their attention for anything), but I think that they will work out most of the kinks with time and training. The hot breakfast is up and running and the bar as well. The bar has a pool table and was a pretty relaxing place for a drink and it’s right next to the breakfast area so you can have even more quite if you want. On balance this property is very similar to Hilton and IHG budget offerings. One point that I did find they do better at though is internet. Internet is password secured, as opposed to browser login, making it convenient to use on mobile phones and it was quite speedy.
