Dexter District Library

The location is a BIG improvement from the old place, behind the church where it was years ago. The park next to it is beautiful, and leads to a walkway into a subdivision and there’s a play ground for kids.
This place is great for kids, and they try to order new books periodically and keep improving.
I’d like to see more community activities and networking events.

I love libraries, probably about a much as I love my cats. I can always find a book or movie to borrow, and so far I’ve only returned one book late for a whooping fee of ten cents. (Totally worth it.)
Dexter is a smaller library, so they don’t have everything under the sun, BUT you can request an item from their library network (over 30 local libraries) and within a few days, you can have your item.
I watch a lot of odd tv shows and movies and have been able to borrow them from Dexter without problems. I’m thankful they can keep my sci-​fi love alive.

If you ever feel the urge to sit in a quiet room near someone who makes strange sounds and smells of fresh toejam, make sure to head over to your local Public Library.
You see, no matter where in this beautiful country you find yourself, you can always count on the Library to have more than it’s share of folks who you just won’t find anywhere else.
Sometimes I think it’s secretly a meeting-​place for the people who had nowhere to go when they shut down the ol’ asylum — and it’s easy to imagine some of them wearing tinfoil under their many layers of well-​used clothing. Who are these people? Are they really reading those books or just pretending? Are they this way because they haven’t read ENOUGH or because they’ve read TOO MUCH?
Despite this distracting segment of the population, I really like working at the library. The spaces are open and airy, there are plenty of tables, a great view of the river and train tracks, and a friendly, helpful staff who (i gather) is pretty stoked about their new building.
The Dexter Library is one of the best places in town.
