Two Words: Fried Pickles. [If you notice a theme in my reviews it’s this: I’m a sucker for a fried vegetable. The less like a vegetable, the better.(Just kidding, mom, I loooove vegetables.)] Anyway, this place is tucked away in the shadows of the Renaissance Center on Atwater street. It is pretty empty during lunch time, which makes it a prime spot for my coworkers and I, because we are in and out under an hour. The menu is what you’d expect out of a Grille with an E. Burgers and sandwiches, salads and a few seafood dishes. The burgers are good(not like Detroiter Bar good) and the salads are huge and the Chef salad especially was filled with about $ 10 worth of toppings alone. With all of the sandwiches, you are served one of their delicious fried pickles(and I’m not even a pickle eater), and if you ask nicely, the server might bring you a plate of them as an appetizer. If you came just for the fried pickles, you wouldn’t leave disappointed. During the Tigers’ season they had pregame specials sponsored by WDFN1130, and I imagine during the upcoming Wings season they will continue. In the summer the deck cannot be beat. It’s spacious, with it’s own bar and a vibe that makes you feel that you’re on vacation.

This place used to be called the River Rock and was popular for kids 18 and up. They have since remodeled it into a restaurant for those of any age to go and enjoy the downtown Detroit life. They have a super large deck upstairs, that is especially inviting during the warm seasons. Each of the three floors has its own bar, which is great if you don’t feel like getting any exercise up and down the steps. The menu is American, with items such as mini-burgers, seafood, pasta and more. They also have tons of televisions around if you wanted to come here before, after or during a sports game. Not many people know about his place yet because it is semi-hidden, but I would definitely suggest checking it out!
